Today, I'm delighted to give you a first look at Civilization VII on PS5, with a UI designed for your controller and features specially made for PlayStation platforms.

Here's another franchise first: Civilization VII is coming to PlayStation consoles on the same day as its PC launch, with all the same content available on day one, and is cross-play compatible with other platforms in multiplayer. With Civilization VII, we're planning to deliver new content simultaneously across PC and consoles, and this unified launch date is the first step in that commitment.

Let's take a closer look at how Civilization VII plays on PS5, and some of the new features we've developed specifically for PlayStation players.

If they have any sensibility, the console(s) should also have full KB+Mouse support like the Age of Empire and Mythology ports.

After BG3 was more fun to play with controller vs KBMouse I'm not surprised Civ is next. Consoles are king.

Haven't thought of the possibility of KB+mouse support. The PS5 version looks fantastic, but even if they implement that I'd miss on the mods. Too bad it doesn't have an iPad version like VI. Even without mods is where I've spend more hours playing.

It shouldn't.

I can't imagine playing one of these games with a controller.
I was a non believer also, but Civ 6 is "playable" on PS4/PS5. Obviously mouse and keyboard is preferable but then you have the shame of looking like this

VI was fine with a controller, though it could still be further refined. However the UI font size was all over the place. Hopefully that's addressed with VII.
