Lords of the Fallen moderators in reddit are having a meltdown over the CEO

they should create their own official subreddit, and appoint their own moderators. Then let all their fans know, effectively killing the lib cesspool.

The average modern American leftist doesn't have a clue what ANY words actually mean and then "ironically" are often guilty of or acting like the VERY word they are accusing someone else of being. It's almost like it's by design to dumb down the peasant class by providing a terrible education system so they have no ability to effectively communicate

Is this phenomenon going on elsewhere as well?
it's projection

I always picture people like those mods as the softest, most sheltered people you can imagine. Their use of the word "fascism" and how much they don't understand its meaning really shows that.

So what did he actually say? I followed the link to twitter and he just appears to be saying that attractive characters help to sell games and he will make sure to ad them to Lord of the Fallen 2.

Is that it?

This is how it started:

During a recent investor chat, the studio was asked about their stance on DEI in gaming. Global Marketing Director Ryan Hill confirmed that the studio remains committed to producing player-first video games that prioritize excellent user experience with compelling themes and characters created specifically for "core and adjacent audiences". While some recent video games have taken the opportunity to implement "social and political agendas" within their experiences, Hill continued, the lower than expected commercial performance of some of these games shows that many players do not appreciate these elements. As such, the studio will continue to develop experiences that maximize player enjoyment and commercial success.

Then there were polls about player preference for Male/Female vs. Body Type A/B and character attractiveness. Those went about how you'd expect them to and the studio committed to putting Male/Female (I think they already did) and creating attractive characters in their games. That's the type of behavior the Reddit mod deems 'fascist'.

Crazy....

Someone needs to take a dump on their windshield.

For people claiming to be against fascism, they sure do like silencing any dissenting opinions.

Wow. Okay good job. Now you lose a bunch of traffic and select for remainders based on ideology, ensuring it stays as unappealing as it looks today. Way to make a stand. I'm sure many lives were saved.

They were clearly envisioning loads of wankathons and praise for doing this. The fact they were held down and had their teeth smashed in but sting. Embrassment on a huge scale.

Is there not a splinter subreddit yet? The ship is barely above water at this point and there's a whole community of people and mods that would happily regroup. All it needs is for someone to tell that dev and tada, they're all home again while the angry mods shout to an empty room.

I wonder how many of the LotF subreddits are also the people that run gamingcirclejerk. That subreddit banned a shit ton of people for reasons I still don't know and then went on similar rants.

I'm so glad to see people calling them out on their bullshit.

- "We made this thread to have a discussion in good faith."

- "How can it be in good faith opening this thread AFTER you've permanently banned every single person who disagreed with you?"

This is always how they keep losing people and causing them to flock to the other side. I still remember me, years ago, when I knew NOTHING of GAF and ERA, and I was searching for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite leaks and found a thread or two on ERA, back when it first opened (I think). And they were like, 'we made this forum to go away from the nazis and the fascists, etc.' and I was like, "Cool!" and I bookmarked ERA and began browsing that forum for news.

And week by week, day by day, they would be a ban for someone who said the wrong thing.

And week by week, day by day, the 'wrong thing' started to sound less and less wrong in my head.

And the moment I went 'wait- WHAT?!' was when they accused someone of being a fascist for saying that a transwoman has a biological advantage over a biological female. That's when it hit me that they had began to oppose reality itself.

And now they've reached a point where people saying there are two genders are labeled as 'fascists'. And it's those extremities which make normal people go, 'alright, these guys are fucking insane'.

The more they push, the more the normies see them for what they are.

And it's glorious.

Players have been requesting the opportunity to have healthy discussion in good faith. That is the purpose of this thread.

*The vast majority had no such interest or intention.

Agreed about extremities, we're seeing a bit of a cultural shift in gaming and elsewhere because things have become so ridiculous and excessive. And the more a spotlight is shown on this phenomenon, the more its proponents act up and out. In short, I believe we will have plenty more examples of the blatant misunderstanding and use of the word 'fascist' in coming times - and the backlash will continue to be glorious.

It's hilarious watching them make the same mistake over and over. The minute someone uses their brain and shows a bit of healthy skepticism and moderation, these lunatics freak the fuck out and do everything they can to shove them over to the other side.

Their little bubble just keeps shrinking and shrinking.

The thing with reddit is that you need to know which subs to avoid in order to actually enjoy using it. The subs I'm in are pretty apolitical, have lax moderation and are mostly just showcases or people asking hardware related questions. The difference between that and the absolute trash that comes up on the "popular" tab is colossal.

Bubble goes "pop". :messenger_smiling_horns:

In all seriousness, though, behavior like that of the Reddit mods does exactly as you say - it pushes even moderate people further to the other side. I think this is a good thing, though, because so much of the ideology espoused is just bizarre and nonsensical. More eyes on it drastically increases the chance of common sense finally getting a say - which I believe is what we're seeing in a lot of the responses to the mods.

Fascist, Fascist, Fascist, Fascist, Fascist, Fascist...

Say it enough times and it loses all meaning. I bet they don't even know what it means (and frankly, nor can even academia agree on a definition).

As a man of a certain age, I have become very interested in World War II recently. I always knew about it, but I never spent too much time looking into it until now. I think it's really disrespectful to those who died because of them to throw around "Nazi" so freely and it's just plain inaccurate 99% of the time. Also, it's a bad arguing tactic to go immediately to 10 when labeling someone you don't like.

The crazy part is that if they haven't gone so batshit insane, over the top, and were more careful and less hostile about their views, there would be a lot less opposition. It wasn't the fact that they had the views that they had, it was the PUSH and the flat-out hostility towards parties with different views that did them in. No one had any problem with transpeople until they started shoving them down everyone's throat every fucking day, every fucking tweet, and called names anyone who didn't want that.

THAT's what did them in.

I don't think I've ever encountered a greater case of irony in my life. The people who call everyone they don't like a fascist and a nazi are acting like the thing they hate - AND THEY CAN'T EVEN SEE IT. It's INSANE.

All these idiots understand are labels. That's how utterly superficial their politics are.

Left is "good", Right is "bad". Doesn't matter that the extremes of leftism have a body count that dwarfs that of the excesses of the right, and even if they weren't oblivious to political history you can bet they'd probably argue that those past atrocities were just an example of somebody "not doing it right". The irony being that they'd doubtless freak out if anyone dared to use that argument to rehabilitate the ideology of Fascism!

As with so many things these days the real axis of division is identitarianism, and the willingness of its supporters to be autocratic to the point of totalitarianism to ensure their identity is dominant.

Sorry mods, delete if you think this is too political. But I'd defend the post on the basis that this is -at its core- not about politics. Just tribalism.

I was thinking about this earlier, particularly the use of "fascist ideology" in the mod's post. There's nothing wrong with listening to players and walking back on DEI initiatives based on player feedback and the fact that it can impact financial success for games. It is, however, very extreme to make decisions for an entire community based on beliefs they don't share and then to delete dissenting comments (voices). It strikes me as projection - assigning things you don't want to see about yourself onto other people. I'm certainly no expert on the subject, but it seems like the most reasonable answer.

So those mods are misusing a word to complain about something? How is that any different than what goes on here lmao

Reddit, much like Twitter, Bluesky, and all the other Social Media shitholes are always having a meltdown. Only mentally ill people use these platforms in a serious manner.

yeah reddit is stupid.
I was auto banned from r pics and it's just trump and musk hate sub now lol

lol, that place is so sad. the meltdown during the election was great though. weeks before, it was spammed with pro-kamala pics and they were so convinced she was gonna win by a landslide.

It's really annoys me that the one founder hung himself due to that BS JSTOR "crime."

I have no idea if he'd be backing this but I like to think that he wouldn't. Reddit is a cancer. Like all platforms that big, there are of course tons of obscure/useful communities but the vast majority of it is pure mind rot nonsense. Burn it all.

Most reddit mods are a cancer. I don't use that word lightly....but they are honestly so fucking insufferable. Bunch of delusional and entitled children who don't have a clue on how the real world works.

Go touch some grass and stop living on the Internet.

Reddit forums tend to annoy the hell out of me. The mods are too unstable and they have these weird mod bots enforcing annoying rules.

This is why they keep losing and the other side keeps gaining new recruits. Somebody on the left strays from the acceptable path and they display their famous tolerance for independent thought and go nuclear.

The right is then standing there with open arms ready to welcome them. You would think that they would realize even for their own interest that they need to change their approach.

They instead sit there acting like the victim when the backlash happen. The big difference is that on this board I have expressed plenty of leftist views with no issue while the slightest deviation from the SJW worldview gets you banned from the purple forum.
