Metroid 4 Prime: Beyond | New Trailer

Visually it looks fine (specially if it's aiming for 60fps on the Switch).
But the trailer just seemed underwhelming.

It has been over 15 years since the last game and the best you've got to get me excited is "Samus must scan stone figures to carve a path forward" and "These new powers allow Samus to operate mechanisms.....and open doors".

Season 4 Wow GIF by The Office

Like I get those are staples of the franchise but I was expecting a bigger hook or wow factor. It's like they went out of their way to show to most boring uses of psychic powers.

Its so unexciting lol and looks ugly as sin. But... the psychic powers if done right could make for some cool puzzles/situations so there is some hope. Really wish there was an innovation hook because after 3 very similar entries the prime series desperately needs one.

What's wrong with not doing new things for the sake of it. You don't have to reinvent something that's already great.

MP1 gameplay in a new world is all we need.
The core gameplay can still exist with improvements. It’s not like introducing new elements erases the core of what makes it a Prime game.

Well, you'll get just that. Be happy. It's gonna be a great game. It doesn't need the treatments other sequels get. Less is more mate.

Those long posts don't cover that red neck boy
All these low-effort posters making comparisons to N64 and Gamecube titles. So desperate to get their words in.

Game looks fine. Not mindblowing but Remaster wasnt either. Waiting how Switch 2 version will look.

Metroid Prime Remaster is quite possibly one of the best looking games on Switch. So yes, it IS mind-blowing.

The Office Thank You GIF

What they have shown so far just doesn't have that hook. that thing that makes you say "ooooh shit, buckle up lads".

Prime Remaster is really impressive, Youtube compression doesn’t make justice. Prime 4 looks even better, is amazing what RetroStudio can achieve with the Switch 1 hardware, i can’t wait to see what they can achieve with the Switch 2.

Yeah man. Looks like some people here have no clue at all about what's possible on Switch. This game does things Switch shouldn't be able to do.

It's magic by Retro. These guys are wizards.

I hope this game doesn’t end up being overlooked since it’s coming out at the end of the Switch 1 generation and will be overshadowed by the Switch 2 hype. But if there’s an awesome Switch 2 version which is one of the flagship titles of the Switch 2 launch titles then hopefully it pulls in players. But hopefully it doesn’t end up like Okami at the end of the PS2 generation.
