Metroid 4 Prime: Beyond | New Trailer

These games don't show well in trailers but will end up being a joy to play. Still emulating on pc or waiting till switch 2.

I really dislike primes shooting and combat tho. Zero flinching enemies and red flashes is so dated and unsatisfying.

6 years for something that so far from what they've shown looks like just more of the same? I'll buy it for switch 2 but I'm not expecting anything amazing. I'dove to be wrong though
I get that. But tbh that’s exactly what I want.

Can’t really think of any games that are like Metroid Prime. I personally don’t need it to change, I did not care at all for Federation Force.

What if we dont have a PC and the switch is out primary console ?
I was being sarcastic. Anybody that actually want to go play AC Shadows deserve the confusion.

But I'm not being mean. I think everyone is awesome. Imagine thinking AC Shadows was comparable to any real game though. It's insane.

To think that people diss on this and then happily go jump on AC Shadows, that just boggles my mind.

Like people complain that their steak is too tough then go eat a cowpie smiling and laughing. What kind of sick world is this where people enjoy that cowpie, really.

I guess people don't really like games anymore. They just care about graphics because, of course, all they really want is some companionship in discord. For them, AC Shadows is like the music in an elevator. Just something that uses their GPU enough to give catharsis while it plays in the background and they chat to their male friends on discord. Human life goes on. That's the bad thing about gaming getting so popular. Lots of tourists and hangers on.

This retarded gatekeeping needs to stop. You don't get to decide what's a 'real' game and not.

Jesus christ.

People can also like more than one thing???? A more casual experience vs a hardcore experience (which MP4 isnt but that aside).

Bringing up AC Shadows in every thread that has nothing to do with it is getting real annoying.

It clearly looks worse than MP Remastered, the textures in particular. Which makes sense, because it's clearly a more expansive game, so something has to give.
All we can hope is the delay was to optimize the Switch 2 version. But I feel we will be held back by the Switch's dated hardware yet again.

I didn't see myself buying a Switch 2 just for this game, but man what a disappointment that was. It looks old, the voiceover was a huge turn off, the music and effects sounded wrong. About the only thing that was a positive there is the idea of adding after touch to projectiles. That's something I enjoy in action games.

Overall though, woof. I expected them to have a much bigger leap forward and a really impressive trailer for something that's been in development this long.

The previous trailer looked a lot better unless my memory is tricking me. It did in fact look too good for the Switch. This looks as expected.

Tbh. I’m waiting to see what the hold up with MP4 was. I remember ToTK. Then when it came out it was just so much bigger and on some places better than BoTW.

Maybe MP4 I hope is the same.

After watchng this latest trailer I could not help but think Nintendo shold have delayed this for the Switch 2. When you get past the fact this is pretty good for eight year old hardware, you are still left with visuals that do not do justice to this latest installment of the Metroid series. In fact I can't see all that much difference in this compared to the recent Metroid remaster. Hopefully we will see more to convince me otherwise. And I am hoping for a patch so this looks better on the Switch 2........But you are still going to be held back by this being released for the older hardware.

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
nice, it seems that you already beat the game.
I didn't know that was a requirement to form a preliminary opinion from what they've shown. You should take a moment to self reflect and ask yourself what is it within you that is making you defensive and of an object at that. Is it the need for validation? Did you somehow conflate your self worth with opinions of this game. What are the stakes for you personally?

That's what the Youtuber who interviewed a bunch of Retro Studios employees about the history of the Prime series and who's adamant about a Switch 2 version being shown next week just said on Twitter:

I really hope he's right, Speedbooster in 3D has always been my most wanted upgrade with Prime 4.

I think the game was just in Development Hell.

There will be a native Switch 2 version, this is their BOTW this time around. So no patch needed. It should hopefully have much better textures and resolution at least, then we'll see if anything else is better in that version.

The graphics are one thing but the levels and rooms just look really empty and dull. The outdoor environment just looks barren and the art direction is fucking boring. The areas are seemingly so much bigger yet I don't see any of the cool alien technology, structures etc.

Again, MP1 especially is one of my favorite games but I don't get what the fuck is going on here considering the amount of time. Everything about this doesn't look appealing and I'm trying just because it's MP.

I really enjoyed the first 3 Prime games and I'm looking forward to this but so far I am not impressed. There is one particular thing I look for when it comes to Nintendo franchises and that is traversal and movement options.

I 200%'d Donkey Kong Country Returns HD because the fluidity in Donkey Kong's movement and momentum is extremely addictive for my tastes. I went for 900 moons because I love the way Mario feels bouncing around all over the place, launching him to and fro with Cappy. I found 900 and 1000 Koroks because Link could get around climbing, gliding and horse riding in a way that felt very satisfying. If I like my movement options I can be in heaven.

I've stopped midway through Prime Remastered because I'm just slightly bored of Samus's speed and agility. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Prime 1-3. So much so that I have 4 big ol' high end Metroid Prime statues displayed in my home. Say what you want about all the wackiness of Other M but I LOVED the way Samus controlled beyond the first person moments and despite the sideways Wiimote. When I play Dread I feel like a space ninja that is nimble as heck.

The last FPS I played was one of the Doom titles and I loved how fast the dude was jumping around climbing and ripping those monsters apart. I look at this and for the most part I see the same relatively slow paced battle mechanics and movement options. It's still very early but I've basically been waiting for more movement options that are speedier and higher energy.

REALLY underwhelming. Switch 2 version better blow this out of the water.
I’m afraid it’s just not going to happen. First person means it’s instantly competing with the big first person titles pushing even highend PCs to a crawl. The world details we’re used to now just isn’t there. Low res textures is one thing but where is the grass and rubble etc? Everything looks flat, sterile, even though they’ve tried to make it look alive, it’s just flat textures everywhere, and some bigger plants and roots.

Game looks glorious. Grafix are amazing for a Switch game. The trailer and narrator though... Nintendo what the hell. You trying to make this game bomb?

Metroid Dread had an amazingly well made trailer.

This is like what happened with Tears of the Kingdom. First 2 trailers were meh. Then the 3rd trailer dropped a few months from release, total hype.

The lack of a release date for this game, hopefully means it is launching with the Switch 2. Better get another trailer next week, and it better be FIRE.

Very promising. They decided to introduce new items, the final armor is pure fire. Game looks good and was super smooth. This is going to be awesome !
