The game prices are freaking crazy and very weird. Why is Mario Kart World more expensive than Donkey Kong Bananza?

If I can't find my wallet when pre-ordering I'll just assume it committed suicide after seeing this news.

You have to be an online member and play alot on your switch to be able to order through nintendo, its via invite.

Larger card size would be my guess.

My guess is, your 3D Mario/Mario Kart/Smash/3D Zelda big guns will be $80. Stuff like Donkey Kong, Kirby, Metroid will be $70( along with 3rd party stuff).

Pro controller having back buttons is great. If it's compatible with Steam Input it's gonna be awesome.

The fuck is micro SD express!?
THe newest standard

microSD Express

In February 2019, the SD Association announced microSD Express.[109] The microSD Express cards offer PCI Express and NVMe interfaces, as the June 2018 SD Express release did, alongside the legacy microSD interface for continued backwards compatibility. The SDA also released visual marks to denote microSD Express memory cards to make matching the card and device easier for optimal device performance.[110]

~70mn in sales vs ~5mn in sales

That GameCube controller is gonna be so hard to get I bet.

£74.99 for a Pro Controller is £10 more than a Dualsense from Sony.

I wonder how expensive the Joycons are....

its like nvme but smaller ,a little bit faster than sata ssd .

Yep, although technically, SDExpress operates over PCIe/ NVMe protocols (or something like that. ) But yes, SDExpress aims to be a removable, micro SSD.

Switch 2 supporting SDExpress is vital to the system offering the "instant loading" and other rapid IO features of the PS5eries gen of consoles and PCs. (Nintendo hasn't said what speed is 256GB onboard storage unit offers, but it'll be in the same current-gen range of speed.)

SDExpress unfortunately has not lived up to its promises yet of being the next generation of SD cards, so most people don't know about them because nothing's used them and regular SD has remained "fine". (SdExpress cards actually have no benefit of you don't have a SDe slot, and even early devices with it have not done much with the 800MB/s sustained speed.) This is essentially the killer-app hardware for the tech, which will hopefully knock the prices down and drive the size (and maybe speed) up over time. But at launch, it's going to be another bill to pay off.

I have the online stuff and probably 50hours (not sure in what time frame that's needed) but I doubt I get their newsletters

Obviously the £75 controller is because of the hall-effect sticks, right?

If the old Switch Pro controller is compatible with Switch 2 (sans the C button functionality), then all 3 rd party controllers like 8 bit do and gamesir will work. Hall effect joysticks and triggers for 25 GBP.

Every fucking smash player is fiending to buy 3.
Bitch you think we want that Bluetooth lag??

I'm definitely gonna try and get 4 of them lol

I bet nerds will find a way to retrofit it to be wired, or just use the parts for existing GC controllers that are worn down etc.

Nah, believe it or not, you can get brand new OEM GameCube controllers (from the Smash Ultimate batch) for just under $60 pretty consistently. I'm not sure if they just never stopped making them in Japan, or if retailers there just bought too many.

But I was just kidding about the Bluetooth latency anyway. A lot of competitive Ultimate players use a wireless Pro Controller; because Ultimate has very generous input buffering, a low-latency controller doesn't really help all that much.

Now if they ever decide to release Melee on NSO (I doubt they will), that'll be a different story…

Imagine a controller with actual back buttons that doesn't cost $200. I'm probably in for one of those and the Gamcube Classics controller.
Gamesir and 8bitdo are your friends. Great controllers with hall effect sticks, back buttons, rumble, and wireless. Under $70.

I do like 8bitdo, but I want a controller that can power on the console. Unless there have been more recent models that are capable? I admit I have not kept up the last couple years.

In the UK the OG Switch Pro Controller is £50.

A pair of Joycons are £70.

With that in mind, I'm expecting Switch 2 Joycons to be around £95.

Those SD Express cards make the Xbox SSDs look like good value. Nintendo picked the most expensive storage solution available.

Rip off merchants. I used to support these fuckers back in the day so I'm partly to blame for this monster. Literally can't be arsed with Nintendo anymore. Greediest cunts in the business in my opinion.

Is this micro SD express going to be a sell out? I would really of liked a 512gb or higher. Are they all out yet? I am in Poland at the mo. So may try and pick one up here.
