Totalbiscuit Content Patch

I really like TB, for the most part.
Though Content Patch is the only thing i watch constantly, because i much enjoy listening to him reason about on various topics, occasionally i watch a WTF or another, depending on the game and if i'm curious about it.

Is he on GAF?

I agree with what TB says about gaming about 95% of the time. I just wish he wasn't so completely full of himself.
He sounds pretty self aware of his flaws to me, and occasionally may come off with an arrogant comment or two, but that's just like every person on the planet.
I wouldn't call him "full of himself", really.
Sounds like a very reasonable fellow and whatever stands he takes, he usually backs it up with plenty of reasoning.

I've been seeing "Full of himself" so much that it's starting to lose meaning. TotalBiscuit is full of himself, Adam Sessler is full of himself. I just don't see it.

I do think he's arrogant to an extent but I do very much enjoy his content. His WTF videos and Content Patches in particular - he makes a lot of both entertaining videos but valid points and arguments.

I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about the posters complaining.

Oh. Sorry your video seems kind of a non sequitur to me. Narcissism causes people to detest others better than them? I wouldn't know, I've never dealt with narcissism.

Eh, when people are full of themselves, they are typically quick to point out how full of their selves other people are, from my experience. Much easier then actually talking about what was being talked about.

After his WTF video for Bioshock Infinite, he started a thread on Reddit dedicated to making fun of people who disagreed with his opinion on the game. He also thinks he should be credited for getting Dark Soul ported to PC. That's pretty damn arrogant if you ask me.

Not a huge fan of TB but don't hate the guy or anything, some of his videos are pretty decent but sometimes he comes across as a bit of a dick.

Dude does not suffer an opinion that falls out of line with his when it comes to his youtube channel.

I used to hear about him being called out for flat out misinformation he's given, then him replying with some ****ish comment and blocking the person so they can't respond..

That's..incredibly childish in my opinion..but i didn't believe it..

until i commented on some wrong info he gave on Sniper Elites Nazi Zombie's DLC..
not an ounce of disrespect, but setting straight some facts..and i got a ****ish reply AND blocked before i could even ask what the vitriol was for.

I appreciated his wtf series, but his actual personality is unappealing, and he's not even witty with it, and becoming less informed as time goes on.. the less we see of him on gaf, the better.

A great pastime: measure how long it takes for him to get to pertinent discussion of a game in any of his videos.

It's steadily grown over time. I've seen videos where he takes five to seven minutes sitting at the menu screen just blathering on...and on...and on.

ha ha, that is true, back in the day, he had a lot of great info to share during that 6 minute menu screensaver, but the last i'd seen he spends that time rattling on some personal gripe he has with something loosely related.

Durante should be credited more than anyone. Yes it may have come out on PC eventually but if it wasn't for his fix I'd say it's near enough guaranteed it would have sold much, much worse. Hell if it wasn't for his fix myself and some of my friends wouldn't have bought it (though I own it on PS3 already)

Yeah, I took a look at his twitter feed due to someone above posting a link and reading it just made me want to really slap him fucking hard. Now ok, it's twitter so you shouldn't really take it seriously regardless (and I never use it) so maybe that's not a good indicator of anything. I'm sure he's a decent guy IRL but just the way he comes across at times in his videos really puts me off watching anymore.

I love TB. I've been listening to him since his WoW Radio days like six years ago. He was fantastic back then.

His general gaming stuff is pretty good too, though. The WTF Is videos are basically quick looks.

I like TB, he has some great content, as well as info on kickstarter projects. Though he hadnt done one in a while. :(

Had to take him off twitter unfortunatly. It was getting difficult fallowing others because he lives on that thing.

Always thought he came across as a self righteous ass myself

Would you happen to have a link of those two? Not calling you a liar, but things can be read in different ways.

Actually, if the Bioshock discussion has spoilers, nevermind. :P

Anyway it's really weird to read this stuff, i've been following him for about a year and a half and so far never seen him being disrespectful or acting like a dick.
Of course there were times i disagreed with his opinion but that's not really what i'm reading here.

Not that it's a big deal, really, if one day i should happen to not be able to suffer him anymore, unsubscribing would be one click away.

Well, I'm not even a big fan and I still think he actually should.
He and RPS, to be more accurate. They made most of the work to start the buzz and put that petition under the spotlight, out the usual irrelevancy that usually define these initiatives.

Not a fan of TB, but I respect him.
He makes excellent content for his channel (in my opinion) but he's also hilariously awful at almost anything he tries to play.
Still, I enjoy his videos more often than not.

Didn't you start the petition or something?

That make the fools like me feel more decent with themselves,

Can't argue with the steady stream of content he puts out for his fanbase, but asking for "credit" for something like that is.. cocky.

But I'm actually biased, I knew of the petition from Gaf, and heard of the RPS angle , and long after the dust cleared I had no idea he had any part of it.

Does he do his VO in post or while he's playing? I thought it was a mixture. I'll never harp on anyone for their play while trying to do commentary.

Didn't you start the petition or something?
Well, sort of. I started the "argument" with Tony Shoupinou (of Namco Bandai Europe) about why a PC port could be a good idea, and we came together to this conclusion that a petition could work.
But probably nothing useful would ever come out it if I didn't mail that conversation to RPS and TB and they didn't start the "tam tam" on the internet just few hours later.

Of course I could get cocky and try to claim that you guys should totally thank me for having that game on PC. :P
But I know better and in all honesty I realize that you should seriously thank RPS and TB for most of the "heavy work".

EDIT: just to put this in numbers, votes escalated up to the hundreds as RPS published the news about it, and then few hours later they went to thousands as TB published his video. Not even 24 hours later, there were already more than 20,000 signs on the petition and only THEN other gaming sites started publishing about it as well.

That show seems like a good way to get a really coloured description of some of the week's events in gaming if you're not a GAFer or lurker on GAF.

He is very much a dick. He banned me from his channel for disagreeing with him in an argument in the comments.

Pretty much. He hates all people who disagree with him, he can't stand the opinions from others, he hates his fan base. He literally shat on his entire audience in a few comment sections on his videos. You need to google for totalbuscuit and can find plenty of his comments which show what a douche he is.
That guy is very versed in the gaming scene, knows and understands a lot of stuff, but he's an asshole.

I endorse anyone shitting on Youtube commenters. Especially those in their own videos.

Seems completely natural to me.

It's funny how critical he can be but when someone is critical of him on he's channel he bans them. Got ban for saying that I was disappointed that he didn't want to do vids of smaller/lesser known games. He also made some pretty dickish comments. Guess he can't handle being criticized, which further disappointed me in him.

A big fan of TB. Back when i briefly did the Youtube thing, he was one of the few i looked up to.

And i enjoyed this Content Patch a lot.

TB in my opinion makes a great job on his youtube channel, his content his usually informative, honest and focus on the gamer and consumer side of things.

I remember how this fucking guy made the best cover you can find online about events like the gamescom a couple of years ago, with a shit ton of videos and interviews with developers... meanwhile, the majority of the traditional games media on europe (and of course on the US) did pretty much shit.

And that's one example, but you can find a lot of good things on his channel, like the coverage of some great indie games or the small analysis he mades of f2p games and their business model.

I can understand that some people don't like his personality, or the way he talks, or the crap he writes on twitter... he is a guy with a strong personality and i know some people can't stand that.

I don't give a shit about that, i will continue going to his channel for entertainment and information as long as his "arrogant and full of himself rants" are actually based on logical opinions... as i think the majority of them are.

Really enjoy TB's stuff, he usually knows what he's talking about or covers some great material. But yeah his arrogant tone annoys some people lol
