How do you miss casting Adam Driver as Snape?
Why would he give up 10-15 years of his life playing Snape when his in his prime right now to be taking big Hollywood roles?
The lost earning would be unimaginable

Outrageous. They're probably just going off some comment Rowling made that she wanted a British cast.
For a story set in Britain.
Because they missed a lot out from the books and a TV show will allow it to be more faithful to the story. They could focus on the adults a bit more and spend time showing off the Marauder's story and more about the teachers/adults/Order of the Phoenix members. A lot of Dumbledore's backstory was left out and even more of Voldemort's. The final battle that the entire series builds up to was completely ruined in the movie so for that alone I think it's worth doing it again. And of course there are numerous other things that were left out.Why why why remake the books again. Make it a prequel series and copy & tweak the book story slightly. You literally have the original author on board and you can't write a new script?
Easy nostalgia money that's a guaranteed 7 year income. Why why why remake the books again. Make it a prequel series and copy & tweak the book story slightly. You literally have the original author on board and you can't write a new script?
more like 10 years.Easy nostalgia money that's a guaranteed 7 year income.
Wouldn't be shocked to see David Zaslav drag it out that much.more like 10 years.

The movies are good but they butcher the last few books.
The first season is going to be 8 hours long. The movie is only 2.5 hours. So we could get 8-10 episodes most likely. The movie was quite faithful to the book so that means we're very likely to see the original opening scene with Mr Dursley at work and seeing all the wizards/owls, extended Zoo trip, Harry and the Dursleys trying to hide from whoever is sending the letters (they drive around for hours and stay at a hotel instead of just ending up in the middle of the sea), more of the scenes of Harry in Diagon Alley (like the first time he meets Malfoy instead of at Hogwarts), Hagrid & Harry riding the tube, The dursleys taking him to King's Cross and abandon him there, they could show Harry and Ron being terrified about what the sorting ceremony is (Harry thinks he has to fight a troll iirc), Harry sneaking through the castle with Norbet the dragon. There are some more challenges for them to go through to get to the stone like Snape's riddle/potions + poisons. That's all I can remember but there are more scenes they could add of course.
They can always make a Cursed Child movie later on...
the snape thing isn't official yet. i'm iffy on it too but i'll "worry" about it when it's confirmed. the guy is talented as fuck for sure but he just doesn't scream Snape to me (and no it's not because he's black). It seems all the other rumoured cast are good so who knows.... I'll give a chance. I'm gonna watch the show start to finish no matter what because I love HP.I grew up reading the books and love each one of them. I enjoyed the movies but the books are way better. This show is what I always wanted from a Harry Potter Adaptation. Longer Run Time and around 8 to 13 Epsodes will be fine with me
I'm iffy on the Snape Casting News but I'll give it a chance. I hope they knock this show out of park. I have faith in the show because J K Rowling is heavily involved

see above.I read it think thr first 4 or 5 books and I was a fan but not obsessive to the point that they need to redo all this again. The movies were good to great
Thank god driver is not snape.
Everytime i look at him i think about that kylo moron acting like an angry child in the shit wars movies.
The shows been delayed cause finding 3 young kids who fit the role and are willing to give up their lives for the next 10-12yrs is no doubt proving insanely difficult, I'm a parent and I would have to seriously think long and hard about letting my kid get cast in a show that's going to pretty much be theirs AND our lives going forward, yeah the money will be great but child stars don't have a good run of it and they need em young, it's a monumental task and one any decent parent would need to think about
Hey. Don't you "they/them" me, bro! They're probably just going off some comment Rowling made that she wanted a British cast.
Provided they're not too ugly we allow all sorts of British actors to ply their craft. And aside from the occasional misstep, for the most part it's fine. For a story set in Britain.
And we still haven't forgotten Dick Van Dyke.

Anyway, that was a pretty strange way for you to write, "he's right, she put a blanket ban on American actors in the movies and unless she does a 180 she would never consider Adam Driver for any role let alone a major one like Snape"
Yeah yeah JK was all tough too until she realized nobody in Britain has composed a banger since Greensleeves and the studio dangled John Williams in front of her gnarled schoolmarm face!Americans have no place in Harry Potter. End of.
Go enjoy Fantastic Beasts if that's what you want.
All the great unfilmed fantasy works out there and they decide to go with Harry Potter...
And probably get way more views as well. We've reached a new low when porn parodies have more accurate casting than official stuff.

Quite honestly, the films are great as films. The books great as books.
I'd prefer an anime.
That said, I don't care for the story much past the Goblet of Fire. The Order of the Phoenix was the first book I struggled to even start and it took me years to get around to finishing it and the later books. I like the world of Harry Potter in the more innocent early years, not the teenage angst and more serious tone in the latter parts. That is how the story was meant to be; I just don't like it much.

Porn knows their audience and they are careful about crossing streams.
