Reading the thread title and then seeing your pics made me chuckle. Sorry my philosophy is that if I don't have anything nice to say or better to contribute, then I shouldn't say anything at all but damn, how much has the quality of pics fallen on this forum. We used to get some amazing gaming photography and now, this.
DOOM 3 looked stunningly good for its time. The graphics create an intensely creepy atmosphere (yes, also in 2024). Quality of images has many aspects.
Among other things, it has 16x AA which is the point that better adds very little. In a few other areas it is just the same.
Specifically in terms of “art style,” which I consider the most important aspect of game graphics, I would say DOOM 3 does better than 80% of all new and old games.
For this type of game, graphics are an important factor. The game received a higher number of positive evaluations than most new games in the last six months on Steam.
This seems to suggest that people playing the game in 2024 find the game's graphics sufficiently good for a (very) positive experience.
