MLS will be struggling to gain fans the next 5 years thats for sure. The world cup generally gives a boost in US soccer interest, and leaves some carry over that spurs interest in the MLS but not this time.
They won't. They'll slowly phase out these garbage players.

onestly, if all you effectively need is a tie against a team already eliminated that is ranked 70 or whatever, and you don't get it done, you have no one to blame but yourself. I only feel bad for one person out of the whole team, Christian Pulisic, the kid plays his heart out, probably dreams of going to the WC and then have a bunch of sorry players to play with.
USSF needs to start from scratch. Arena needs to go, and don't bring papa Bradley back. You need someone from outside. Gullati needs to go. I actually wouldn't mind Klinnsman taking Gullati's spot. His ideas for developing soccer in the US are sound and based from the very successful German program. A lot of these garbage ass players need to get the boot, what the hell was DeMarcus Beasley doing there?

Yedlin only has speed, no technique, can't cross, can't defend, always out of position.
The whole defense and midfield sucks. I don't know why they still called Omar Gonzalez to the team
Altidore is straight up garbage. The only reason he plays is because other players are miraculously worse than him.
Bradley can create if there's space in front of him, if you put a man in front of him, he'll try to take the ball back and reset. Dude can't dribble. Some defense, but that's about it.
Woods is serviceable because he can create something in the box and score, but he's limited.
Dempsey is past his prime. Father time has caught up.
Other teams know that Pulisic is the only good player on the team, beat him up a little bit and put 2-3 men shadowing him and he'll be contained. The rest of the team sucks so much ass that they can't pick up on the open space.

Its not his fault Arena is dumb enough to trot him out there. If our best keeper is actually playing in MLS Ill eat my fucking hat.
Not exactly how things work. Players develop at the club level and you get your best players to play. A little chemistry doesn't hurt though.

There's like half a dozen really good US keepers in MLS that aren't getting looked at because both Arena and Klinsmann have a hard-on for Howard and Guzan and refuse to use anyone else.

Ill never understand how much our defense fell apart. Thats what we should be good at if nothing else. Were not overly technical...fine. We can still have an organized defense.
I mean he has the record. Its just a tie with someone else.
Nobody from that team except Pulisic and maybe Nagbe should ever wear that jersey again so....no.
I feel as if Dempsey will retire at the end of this year from football in general. Always struck me as a guy that always put international football a lot of levels higher than club football.
