Every episode, he gets a carton of cigarettes and some sloppy head from a pre-op tranny. The tranny is not allowed to look him in the eyes.

Jaime Lynn sygler is the 2nd highest paid actor on the Sopranos? Really? They could write her off and nobody would even notice. The rest of the actors need to fire their agents.

christopher meloni is incredible, and deserves every cent and more. very underappreciated, and--to be honest--i hate to see him stuck on law and order.

It should be noted that some of the actors/actresses actually make much more than that as they have more roles than simply acting.

Keifer basically owns 24 ... so who knows how much he actually makes from it.

Steve Carrell seems like he is getting gypped as well.

Not really. I'd assume that his pay is from his original contract from when he was hardly the star he is now (added in that the show helped make him more marketable and thus pays dividends through that). Most tv contracts start out fairly 'low' for the first two or three seasons until the show is a bona fide hit and then the salaries explode.
Plus Carrell would have back-ends in the contract in relation to royalties for syndication and DVD sales which can be worth millions.

Law & Order: SVU was so much better when the stars weren't making huge bank and the show wasn't constantly striving for awards attention. I used to pimp that show here a lot, now I don't even watch.

I thought BBC put the money up for Rome. Or was it a split venture kind of thing?
On top of what Cornballer posted, IIRC, the BBC wasn't even involved in the second season.

Her pay was just put in the article to argue that some actors are being overpaid.

BTW, i think Kiefer's salary also takes in account his behind the camera role, so they are making a saving there actually.

Where's Hugh Laurie? I thought he got a rediculous pay rase for House...
A quick google reveals (in $US) that upon the 3rd season beginning:

After a two-month renegotiation, the actor has received a big salary bump going into the hot medical drama's third season, bringing his per-episode fee to the neighborhood of $300,000, sources said.

That is a dramatic increase from Laurie's starting pay on the Fox series, which is said to have been in the mid-five figures.

The renegotiation also adds an additional year to the actor's current contract for "House," which is produced by NBC Universal TV Studio. It is understood that Fox has helped NBC Uni TV foot the bill for Laurie's new deal. Laurie is also said to have received a small stake in the backend of "House."
If there ever was a show's success dependent on one actor's performance, it's house.

I understand Zach Braff getting the most per episode on the Scrubs cast...but, I think it's ridiculous that he's paid so much while none of the other cast members even chart the list.

That show works because of the whole cast, not just Braff.

Definitely. Scrubs is anything but the kind of show that relies on a single actor/character. He's not even my favorite character on the show.

James Gandolfini - The Sopranos ($962k)

[....]

Jamie-Lynn Sigler - The Sopranos ($144.3k)

Please tell me that Edie Falco, the best actor on the ****ing show, is making more money per episode than Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Please?

The lack of Michael C Hall hurts me in my heart. They ought to replace everything on HBO with Michael C Hall in every role.

Or just add him to the wire somehow and make the whole ****ing world explode.

Yeah, I noticed that on Laurie's Wikipedia article and wondered why he wasn't on that list. What is $300K in Aussie dollars, anyways?

I was wondering when someone would ask about Hugh Laurie.

It's not a top ten list - it's just a select sampling of some actors at a few different strata. You can probably count on Falco's pay being only a little below Gandolfini's. (Agreed that she is a master actress, btw.)
