Just did my first dual-protag mission, so good i hope the rest of main story has us switch like this too. The world looks amazing to observe if you stick to traveling on the roads. Kyoto looks amazing in summer and autumn, cant wait to get to other big towns.

The season system is dope, hope more games adopt something like this rather than just switching between 2 versions of the map which has been getting increasingly popular..

Played some more AC Shadows today, and I gotta say that I'm loving this cool effect they've added when you assassinate key targets in the world.

Oh, and I just unlocked the double assassination skill, and man it's so brutal and satisfying at times, lol.

Downloading it just now, i was playing metro exodus and couldnt dl it before i finish metro and clean up storage eventho i pre ordered.

My question is i do not mind 30 fps since playing excessively on switch broke me forever but is the 40 fps mode worth it and what am i actually missing compared to 30 fps mode? Ill be playing on regular ps5. I do have an oled tv with vrr support but i dont wanna loose on fidelty since again, i am fine with 30 fps

Honestly, I'm playing on Pro on Balanced and there's enough drops/camera drag to make me consider performance or to even tolerate 30fps.

VRR doesn't really help with the issues and it's not as stable as something like H:ZD. If you don't mind 30fps, I'd say go with quality.

yes, it "uses up" a scout when the scout found the objective location.

Yeah, so if your clue is 'patrols the western side of sakai port'. You'd deploy a scout there and if they are deployed in the right place you'll get an icon on your map.

It's not exact, when you get to the general area you then need to get high and Observe using L2, until you find the blue glowing orb which will change to a quest marker when you find it.

Also to collect any materials in the open world you usually need 2 spare scouts. They reset after a season or you can pay to refill them at your hideout.

upgrade your hideout to reduce it to 1, also if you spot unarmed people being threatened in the world, you can save them and they'll refill a scout for you as well if you choose that.

I'm playing predominantly on PC because of the lack of stability in the frame rate. Definitely does not feel like a 60fps game on Pro. The sooner they implement PSSR, the better.

I been doing contracts and such as well. You know the guy who summons rockets on your position. I inadvertently used that in a "destroy cargo" mission. Dude blew up his own cargo. lol

Never thought I would be so sucked into an AC game again (played everyone up to Unity but never got into the RPG-style ones until now). Loving it, though I have to say I wonder if I will be convinced by the end of the game that Yasuke should have been a playable character and not just a major character in the story. To me it feels like Naoe should've just been the sole protagonist, she's better than the majority of AC MCs and a samurai is just simply not an assassin. Anyway, to fill this thread with a few more screenshots without chromatic aberration...

30 is pretty good here.
But 40 is much better and also in 120hz container. Much better input lag

Yasuke is useful in situations. I slipped up with Naoe and got Wanted in a small castle. So I switched to Yasuke and slaughtered every motherfucker in there.

Yeah I just came across this. I thought maybe I just randomly came across one of my scouts about to get executed but I guess as you said, it just refills one.

The teppo I have right now does 1700 damage… where my highest weapon on Naoe does like 372?

He gets 6 heals, takes almost no damage, and can easily fight 5 guys at once.

I get what they were going with him and offering players two distinct play styles but he’s waaaaay busted.

That's the wrong way to look at it, naoe does much more than "1700" damage outside of combat, because she simply deletes health, my kunai currently removes 4 health segments, it can remove 7+ eventually; I switch back to her for castles because she's just much more efficient, also if there are no samurai around she's much better at killing than yasuke, just throw a smoke bomb and one shot every guy easy.

It's explained super poorly, it's very unclear how important it is or how the allotted slots work. You can deploy scouts but you can also use them to get resources but only once per season or whatever? I think?

Such a bizarre gameplay mechanic especially considering how lame it is. It's just a menu thing. Imagine how cool it would be if you could deploy actual scouts in the world and you could see them work.

The irony is that Ubi already solved this problem ages ago.

You can get more of them by upgrading hideout and restore the charges them at kakuregas for 200 mon.

Yep, its lame, wish theyve expanded way more on the assassins brotherhood aspect, at least this game goes in the right direction with the allies.

scouting on the map pretty much only exists for if you get lost, there's really no requirement to use them, just go search the area with the directions and save them to bring in resources instead.

PSN also requires you to own it. At 4.76 with over 6K ratings.

Really satisfying to just find stuff this way too. “So and so is at the base of a waterfall” — so I’m in the general area and see a small river, follow it upstream for a while and there’s the waterfall. Smart design!

yes! It was very emotional. I got all teary eyes which I was surprised that it got me!
I am switching between immersion and english and can't decide. I prefer Japanese but reading takes you out of it.

Also. i loved the monk+kid part. So hearwarming. And the graphics are... mind blowing? is that the right word? I feel like at least 25% of me being impressed is the hair and light reacting to it. Other 25% is the vegetation moving and animals. So good
