Tag, you're it.
I also think that someone gets good fps(to them) then runs one of the upscalers to get better. So that's why I say I do believe the benchmarks(though I dont know every bit of their system)
I dont mess with rebar but that does ya change things.

I normally dont look for branches but now I will be
Ok so messing with Rbar and it's A LOT better. Before at this place I had 40/45 FPS and now it's 75!

Here is what I changed if anyone else have issues:

So I stand corrected, the game is a lot more fluid now and I'm a happy man! Thank you for your information because without it, I would not have explored the question any further!

Found one! They aren't in all the ecosystems so I was in the wrong part of the world completely. As you saw in the trailer some insane locations. Mine isn't as weirdly low res or edgy but I found some hanging from the branches of another tree branch. Wind movement decals(to show more wind movement).
Christ it felt like trying to find waldo in this world.
Hahaha yeah maybe I had bad luck and stumbled directly in front of them IDK but honestly it's not that big of a deal. The overall presentation is still great.

you still have it disabled though.

I knew we would get Ubisofted. Looks nowhere near as good as HFW based on the footage I've seen.

Gonna rent it now on Ubisoft+ for a month since they decided not to launch on Steam.

Ya man you bet. Like I said I love this stuff because with so many variables its a fucking jiggsaw puzzle made of rubics cubes sometimes trying to figure it out. Hopefully it stays up there and thats a good note. I am passing the data onto my discord for anyone else who wants to try.

Ok so I started writing that it did something because my game was a lot more fluid, then I though "hey why not taking a few shots with rBar 0x00000000 and rBar 0x00000001 to show the difference".
But guess what, now I can't get below 70/75 FPS on the same spot were before I had 40 FPS. So IDK what the fuck is happening with this game but... yeah I'm lost. I'm searching but I haven't I touched anything else.

Edit: And of course I'm relaunching the game every time.

This game is fucking beautiful. It gives horizon s run for its money. Like wow.

Great performance too. 4k dlss quality 60 fps using high settings with some medium.

Playing with GFN, everything set to ultra, this fucking game looks insane

i dont think ive seen this much level of detail in an open world game before. its overwhelming and yet beautiful at the same time. its like you are surrounded by plants in a forest. you almost feel lost. remarkable visual achievement.

Despite being set on a distant alien planet, Avatar is one of the most uninspired sci-fi IPs I know of.
That plus Far Cry crap is just a recipe for shit.

It doesn't even make sense tonally. Far Cry reaches its peak when it provides the survivalist adrenaline rush. The surface level spirituality and "beauty" of Avatar doesn't mix with that shit.

It's certainly the most dense plant life I've seen in a game.

I don't think so honestly, going as low as 40FPS on a 4090 is not acceptable. I tried it in 1440p and even then it's still goes to sub 50 frame on some arena (typically the first outpost/hub) because of how bad the game is scaling (I blame AMD techies for this).
FSR frame gen is unplayable for me. Anything higher or lower than my refresh rate makes my mouse mouvement very... jittery? Almost feels like the game is lagging... in single player. And I shouldn't compromise on a 4090 to get at least 60FPS.
Currently, no GPU can provide native 4K/60FPS maxed out experience which is crazy. "Up to" means nothing, I can go up to 180FPS maxed out if I look to the sky.

Yeah I kinda expected this but I swear I did not nitpick. Just go up a tree and you see those horrible textures. Same for this one:

afop_plus.exe_Screenshot_2023.12.06_-_23.02.40.12.png

It's on A LOT of trees that are on the ground, not hidden or anything, just right in front of you. And yeah it can look very good (I posted some shot earlier) but I really think it's inconsistent.
All settings maxed, I'm hitting ~60-100 (capped at 100) with a 4090 at 3440x1440 DLSS. FSR3 with AMD Frame Gen feels worse than DLSS, even though the FPS counter states otherwise.

Who said this game looked better than Horizon Forbidden West?

🤡🤡🤡
It does when you are surrounded by vegetation, and i'm the biggest hfw graphic fanboy in the entire forum, you can ask around...

It trades blows with horizon, that's for sure, at least maxed out on pc.

My review in Spanish (6/10). Definitely one of the most boring games I've played in years: https://www.pcmrace.com/2023/12/06/avatar-frontiers-of-pandora-pc-review/

In the review there are fifteen 4K screenshots at max settings and a DLSS Vs FSR 3 image comparison (FSR3 looks on par with DLSS and works quite well in this game.).

How much frames do you get from fsr3 compared to dlss+ quality? If it is like a couple of frames is not worthy, but if we are talking like 15-20 frames i could try amd reconstruction...

Is it total war in the game? Or just small uprising here and there on the planet? I know in the movie it was basically just a mining outpost. Didn't the whole conflict start when some climate protestor Navi vandalized a bulldozer? If they just found a different place to hang out in they could enjoy a supple share of the mineral extraction wealth. They really made a big deal out of it though.
In the game humans are killing the planet and they are full on usurpers, the fugly aliens have all the right to fuck em up, the protagonist was kidnapped as a kid so it also has a reason to be mad.

I don't care even a bit about avatar franchise but what you do in the game make sense.

On PC yeah but probably not console
On a 4090, certainly. How about the ps5 version, though?
Just watched PS5 footage of the intro and it looks virtually identical to what i played on PC. All the foliage is there. The lighting quality is identical. Asset quality is identical.

Game has RTGI, RT Shadows and RT reflections on the PS5. And not just in quality mode. DF found traces of RTGI even in the performance mode trailer released a few months ago.

The game simply looks phenomenal even on PS5. its secret sauce is the insane foliage density and diversity, and the PS5 version looks to have the same density and foliage quality im playing on PC's high settings.

...ACG review made me very curious, the fact that is not a fight after fight game makes me really interested, I'm sick of those games with adhd ppl as primary audience.

Took chance on ps5. Wow, they actually did it, albeit at 30 fps. This game is next gen af. Rt gi in a super dense open world with really good image quality. Who would've thought the ps5 could pull this off based on what we've been getting for the past several years.

Now, it's not my fav art style and due to color choice and art direction I still think a game like Forbidden West is more beautiful, however, Avatar is more impressive to me because I know how taxing rt gi with this kind of density has been for devs. Indoor lighting is pretty much better than any game we've got this gen too thanks to the gi. It's got some gamma issues but the way light bounces and occludes properly is something I'm not used to on console.

Makes me wonder why CDProject couldn't give us better RT on the consoles. Is it that they just care more about PC? Is it harder to do in a city with so many npc's and vehicles? I dunno. This rt implementation is more impressive than Metro as well. I'm also impressed with how smooth the 30 fps feels on my oled. Usually 30 fps is painful. One final note this has excellent dualsense and audio.

This game gives Starfield a run for its money with this first hour of "gameplay". What a slog. Also didn't like that I couldn't access graphics settings until after like 5 cutscenes...

Oh and the picking fruit minigame was clearly designed for console because the tooltip says vibration will tell me how to do it properly, but I'm playing on mkb so... no vibration lol

PC is always the bar anyway

This must be wild on a high end PC because even on ps5 (at 30 fps) the density and rt lighting is impressive. Just to have better clarity and 60 fps I'd imagine would feel like a new level of graphics. Then again I've never played cyberpunk on anything except a ps5 so maybe this is less impressive to PC guys who've used to this fidelity in an open world.

I think this is more impressive than Forbidden West but not always as nice to look at due to the art and production values.

I'll reserve judgement until I see how they manage draw distance and LOD pop in. Character rendering looks okay at best but up close details look better than horizon.

Against colonial oppressors. Seems pretty justified to me.
Were you also rooting for the empire in Star Wars?
Oppressors? They're trying to bring mineral wealth to Pandora. Before they arrived I didn't even see a two story building. Let alone air conditioning or LLM chatbots. Blue people seem ungrateful to me tbqh. I'm pro-civilization. The themes in Avatar and Star Wars are both extremely sus. You're just blinded by lightsabers and flying bird dinos.

One thing Ubisoft does right is the gun play. They absolutely nailed the bow and arrow.
Yep, hilarious when you think that guerrilla comes from killzone 2 and the bow combat against humans in absolute dogshit in both games but fucking ubisoft nailed the right hit reaction and ragdoll for the bow, it's not rdr2 or tlou2 level of bow perfection but it's pretty good.

Btw they are not a gen apart in graphic, cmon.

Horizon has better characters and water but everything else is a toss up, amount of vegetation and draw distance with less pop in are on avatar side.

This is where you are mistaking...This is Massive, not Ubisoft....is like equating guerilla with sony and say that sony didnt nailed the combat vs humans in HZ.

People wants boss fights, James Cameron probably said no to big unique bosses
The game was utterly fucked in the blue ass by disney.

Devs had to waste weeks if not months to make a simple enemy because they had to ask multiple permission to disney because everything in the game is movie canon and they have zero freedom.

This is why enemy variety is dogshit.
