Bloodborne on PS5 Pro using 'image quality enhancement' feature (screenshot)

Can't believe that I've made it to post this first:

People were idiots for thinking this would get a major boost. It's a PS4 game that didn't sell well. Financially makes no sense to out resources into it.

This thread is about PS4 games. Why would I even talk about PS5 games at all?

Yeah but PS4 games shouldn't get any better on Pro compared to standard PS5, without patches or system level changes that will affect them (that should also affect PS5, like removing os flags for frame cap).

I'm interested what this thing in OP does, some analysis would be nice.

Fake.

There's no difference whatsover other than 10% more sharpness, and that's something that could be done through the TVs settings to begin with, so it clearly isn't the Enhanced Image Quality feature.

That's why I said in my original post "my guess". I just guessed on what this feature might be doing and why Bloodborne is not affected by it.

it's not fake. It's just a game that does not benefit much from the enhancements. Those are screenshots directly from the PS5, not off-screen. Lots of brazillians are getting the Pro today probably due to an error from one of the biggest stores over here.

Thank you.

Now tell me where I'm wrong.

I looked at both pictures, full screen on a 55 inch tv. One is significantly more detailed than the other.

The setting is to improve image quality on PS4 games and it looks like it does exactly that.

It's not meant to update the game's performance. It's a nice little feature that they aren't even advertising.

You are so desperate and sad.

Nice free upgrade.

Going to check out RDR2, since R* refuses to update that game. Just unlock the frame rate for the love of god.

I did the same, the most different thing is where fog is placed on the screen...

Are you fucking kidding me, this is update to you? Filter that does "who the fuck know what"?

Game remains limited by 2013 hardware (30fps, broken frame pacing, 1080p etc.) and you are excited about shit like this, haha.

Look at the character model.. if you can't see the detail differences. You need glasses.

I don't care about bloodborne. There are plenty of 60 fps games that will get visual updates. It's a nice add.

I mean it could be running in 4K with perfect anti aliasing, as long as chromatic aberration is still there it's a nope for me, ruins the whole image quality.
This is an honest question. What exactly is the point of chromatic aberration? Like, what is it's intended purpose? All I can ever really see is this weird edgy blurriness thing going with a colorful heat wave pattern.

It looks the fucking same
We'll its not PS5pro enhanced and its not even PS5 enhanced.. so really what were you expecting.. the programmers locked at at 30, without recoding intervention.. all your going to get out of this is some upscaling on old PS4 titles.

Artistic intent like lens flare, bloom, etc.

I was wrong, what a massive difference!

It's to make image look like shit on purpose. It's simulating defects in old camera lenses.

Sharper image.
FPS and other things OS level upgrades can't change.

Pretty much. Free update for legacy games. Probably will be helpful at 55"+ screens if you care about IQ - which is the point of Pro anyway.
I wonder if it will further improve FPS/dynamic resolution in PS4 games vs. PS5 amateur.

You should be banned from every PS5 Pro thread, I only can recognize you in those threads because you are always doing those retards comments.

Don't try to argue with these people. They're not trying to have a legitimate conversation.

Upscaled PS4 games is a bad thing apparently.

Bojji Bojji is so transparent.

These two pages are based on a single screenshot. Let's see what it actually looks like before making conclusions.

I have a feeling it's going to be a trade-off. It will look sharper, but will still have the CA and face-pacing issues. It's most likely going to be a wash.

Only so much OS level changes can make I'm afraid.

The improvement is really small but im actually surprised they have a system wide feature like this, i thought all they meant with that phrasing was improved res through better DRS thanks to more GPU raw power.
