Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer World Premiere Coming August 11, 2014

"Pick 10" was the best class creation system of all, so I'm glad it's back even though this isn't a Treyarch game. The fact that it's Pick 13 now has me somewhat concerned about how bloated the options are going to be; more stuff does not necessarily equate to better or more balanced (it's the opposite, pretty much). Black Ops 2 has a TONS of tactical gear, attachments, etc. and 10 was enough... how much more could this one possibly have?!

Curious if the total includes Scorestreaks this time.

I meant to go back and edit my post; seems like it does, according to this article: http://www.gameinformer.com/games/c...all-of-duty-advanced-warfare-multiplayer.aspx

So, that makes me feel a bit better.

I also really like the idea of supply drops.

It's the reason as to why it is 13 points now. One for each of the 3 scorestreaks.
Or four! There's a wildcard for that, of course.

Usually $10 off

Regardless I just remembered Best Buy is giving a $10 Certificate with it, and I get 20% off so maybe I will indeed get it day zero since I doubt it'll drop below $40.

Yeah, you might as well preorder at Best Buy. Saves anyone $10, and if you have GCU, $20.

Just won't get it that cheap for months if you are one of those anti-preorder folk.

Is anyone not feeling the futuristic direction cod has been going the last couple years?
What i really liked about black ops 1 was the simplicity in the gameplay and killstreaks.

What i really like about these new shooters is the emphasis on movement/parkour.

Super happy the radar returned to UAVs instead of Sat-Coms, and the return of the care package scorestreak! (in the form of an orbital drop). Already looking better than Ghosts.

Looks like it might be fun, if not too frantic for even a CoD at times. Not liking the animations, but the visuals are massively disappointing overall. I'll keep an eye on it I guess. I mean, if it's fun, it's fun so there's that. I'd get it for PC, but the people that only play CoDs now a days are my console friends, so would have to get the PS4 version.

Yup but watching an uncompressed 60fps vid still made the MP look good.
Yeah as long as the game is fun and has good map design and ultimately some longevity. I won't care. COD hasn't been a looker for some time now and it doesn't need to be if it ends up affecting gameplay.

I like it, though I wish they copied TitanFall wall running and wall jumping aswell.

Yep. I'm watching the videos and subconciously looking for wall run points on the map. Too bad they didn't take that from Titanfall.

Will be interesting to see how the community reacts. If the community takes to double jumping, any CoD without it moving forward could feel gimped from a traversal standpoint.

I wonder if Treyarch did a CoD with literally no killstreaks, how that would be received...

Well I for one hate that old school bs where you pick up weapons on map like cod 3 or halo... Basically whoever gets to the "insert best weapon here" first usually racks up the points... it's pretty lame imo

Why are SMG's killing so quickly again? 1-3 shots spells death in this it seems like which defeats the purpose of a quick shooter like this.

If we're not counting CoD3...

Treyarch had two playlists in Black Ops 1.

Pure, which had no killstreaks, perks, weapon attachments, equipment, etc. Basically CoD2 mode.

Other one was Classic, which was essentially CoD4/WaW with 3-5-7 killstreak set-up, although with some other weird omissions (no weapon attachments for example).

Not surprisingly, these two were some of the least populated playlists in the game and didn't appear at all in Black Ops 2.

I can assure you it would not be a popular move on any of the developers part.

I watched the trailer and rolled my eyes.

Then I watched IGN's gameplay videos and it actually looks...fun.

I'm also curious as to how much the extra year development time will help the franchise moving forward.

It was actually with Black Ops 2.

edit: I'm pretty sure there was controversy when Vahn got thousands of death threats over one of the CODs though over quick scoping nerfs.

Yeah I remember that.

iirc, Vahn laughed it off but was disappointed.

I remember back with the first Black Ops a few people were trying to organize some kind of boycott after they heard Quick Scoping wasn't going to feature.

Since Black Ops it has struck me that Treyarch seem fairly dedicated to trying to fix exploits in the gameplay. Like disabling grenades and launchers for the first few seconds of a game so people can't bombard the spawns like you saw in MW2. Even the dive they introduced in that game was supposed to counter the "immediately go to prone in a firefight" epidemic. Then there was the Ghost style perk in BO2 that stopped working if you were stationary for too long.

Looks fun, definitely liking some of the new stuff that's being added
Especially after how disappointing the multi was for Ghosts hopefully they used the extra development time to actually have a decent spawning system

Unreal. Black Ops was the last cod, perhaps only cod, to get sniping right. There should be no aim assist on sniper rifles in public matches. If people want to quick scope that badly, give them the option to do it in private matches.

Just got to watch it and it looks very...frantic. Speed reminds me more of old arena shooters than recent CoD games.

I'm actually way more interested in the campaign that multiplayer by what I've seen so far which is unusual. Looks like they're going further from what made Modern Warfare a good fit; the games are more frantic and twitchy than ever before. I was not very impressed by the one multiplayer trailer I've seen. :[

I'm weirdly excited for this game, and I haven't really given a shit about CoD since MW2.

Sigh

I guess I'll drop an amazon pre-order on the Day Zero edition just in case.

Does anyone have data and statistics on the playerbase number for PS4 and X1 when it comes to CoD Ghost? I want to know what version will be more populated regardless of console sales.

As it stands, the PS4 will likely have the higher population for next gen. Just so many more PS4's out there. 360 should have the highest of all releases, assuming it's a good port.

I can show you the Xbox One numbers right now of people online. If anyone is up for it and have the PS4 version, we can compare. It may not be the most concrete, but it's something.

PS4 version usually has a player base of high 30k to low 40k most nights.
