Are you allowed to sell your GOG games? No, you aren't, they're not yours. Even if you could, they're worthless. Not only that, imagine playing on PC and not having access to Steam features, lol. Also, i don't care what Sony is trying, the PS5 Pro has a disc drive option and that's all that matters for now, end of story.

This sucks I don't like it at all. I sell my console games all the time, I don't need games that i already completed.
But sad reality is that writing is on the wall, PS6 will launch with optional disc drive AT BEST.
If you're a AAA game player, and you're building your PC to match or slightly exceed the consoles then you're doing it completely wrong.
The trick is not to only exceed it by a sizable margin, but to also make sure you're on good platforms that have a future, and choose a mobo with decent IO and PCIE slot selection. That way you are well-placed to be able to do at least one CPU/GPU upgrade as needed and keep up pace when the next gen of consoles comes out and raises the floor of what's acceptable for new AAA releases.
Simply going with the entry/midrange GPUs and calling it a day is only going to aggravate you in a couple of years.
If you're an indie game player then you don't need most of the above, but you should consider whatever current Switch is out there because Nintendo seems to have got a lot of indie support, and you gain portability and legal access to own Nintendo titles.
Simply boiling things down into the cheapest build possible to beat the PS5/6/7 etc is not gonna cut it imo, you need to know what you want, and need to know whether you're willing to embrace the PC gaming lifestyle or not.
Huh? Everyone builds their PC to suit their needs, people that play on 1080p monitors don't need 4090 or even GPU on par with PS5 Pro.
Something like 3060 12GB or 6700XT is perfectly fine for majority of PC games, power is ~PS5 but players can change settings to have better performance.
On this forum most PC players have high end rigs because we want the best possible experience but majority of gamers aren't like that (that's also why consoles are so popular).
You asked about Steam and I said yes. I play games offline without issue there. Don’t know about Game Pass, but this is a debate about the rise of the digital format that also affects consoles. It’s not uniquely a PC issue.
Yeah you probably can't play offline on Xbox Game Pass as well. MS is just awful like that, EA is shit too.
