DF Clips Is The High-End PC Experience Really *That* Much Better Than Consoles?

Apart from some unoptimized PC port, RTX 2070 Super is easily capable of providing better experience and performance than PS5. Those days are gone when console use to have magical performance uplift when developers used to get mature with APIs and console architecture. Additionally, PC is now a competition because at times, game out sales on PC ratio 2:1 or even 3:1 compare to console, which was not possible on PS3 and Xbox 360 era.

Now everything even PS own exclusives developements revolve around PC because of AI, engines are now more flexiable, more developers are shifting on PC.

It is all about the experience and platform flexibility.

Doesn't even need to be high end to be better.
Often times consoles are stuck with a certain framerate and graphical setting.
On pc you can change this and still give something that can in many cases offer improvements.

In half the time it takes a PS5 to boot you get a nice little audio visual sequence and go directly into your game.
Nonono. You can suspend games on consoles. No need to shut it down.
Press the power button on the controller, the console starts, the display comes on.
I just timed it. 17 seconds and I'm playing.

Sony ponies wanted more than a ps5 so they bought the pro. The pro under delivered so now they are praying fsr4 can save Pssr and justify the price of the ps5 pro. in reality the pro is like the pc special needs cousin.

Guess that depends on what you consider a "mid range pc" to be. I've got a 9070 XT and a 4070 laptop. PS5 Pro fits in between those easily, albeit closer to the laptop that my main rig.

Either way, Pro doesn't need to be "saved" by FSR. That's just silly warrior rhetoric.

How do you like it so far?

Booting up directly into games is one thing PC can't do and consoles ditched it along with plug-in controllers and memory cards.

On top of the inherent inefficiency of using 30% more system resources to fill out that 65in 16:9 display when our eyes work much closer to 4:3.

Playing a game on PlayStation 2 requires one step - pushing the power button.

Yes it can. More than 1 game even. Just add games to the OS startup.

You can just press one button on PC too except you are not being fucked by the loading times, resolutions, frame rates, and controls (for some genres) of the PS2 games.

I've only done some benchmarks. Using Optiscalar for FSR 4 with Cyberpunk 2077 looks pretty dang impressive so far. Need to play a game that supports FSR 4 fully to really get an idea, but considering I only paid $600, I'm not seeing much to complain about.

Time Spy results haven't disappointed....

More powerful than the rtx 4080?? Was it because of the different CPU?

Without even watching the video, I'm going to answer "yes".
But not even because of the "high end" part.

PC is better because of configurability and control, which you don't have on console.
Nobody cares about control and configurations . Why do you think apple phones are so popular at their high price. gaming is the games as created by the devs. Any messing with it modding it is some dragon ball z abridged type bafooonery. People want to experience the same exact content as everyone else. Its called a society and a community.
Yet to the average consumer, the differences are miniscule.

If I play any current graphics comparison by DF in front of my gf, she can barely tell a difference unless a console version doesn't have RT reflections and PC does.
Unless you have like really blurry images from Series S vs high-end PC. PS5 Pro vs high-end PC will already be far less significant.
Facts graphics have basically peaked like movie cinema has peaked and the thing that sets them apart are the skills of the artist. Any small percentage diffferences arent worth the 2-3k dollars.

How much did you spent to build your PC? You say a little more... So i suppose between $800-1000? How much is that little more to run those games at that level?

Are you gonna ignore me? I seriously want to know how much your PC cost to see if i can build one with new parts for myself for a little more than a PS5 Pro to play at 4k 60, 120, 240fps. Thanks in advance.

That was a period where a PC ports were actually optimized or at the least, on DX11 which allowed GPU vendors to actually modify the fuckups of devs on a driver level, which DX12 being a to the metal API is giving all this task on devs and they've done a shit job of it. GPU vendors can barely alter the baseline with DX12. I can't even imagine how big the software driver teams were in those days for each vendors.

We've had some of the worst optimized games in modern times with the likes of TLoU part 1 and Monster Hunter wilds where even at 8GB they manage to look worse than a PS3 game with 256MB. In TLoU part 1's case it was a decompression bug and was later fixed but still incredibly bloated. MH Wilds there's really no fucking explanations outside that they're high over there.

Also shame on peoples always picking the worst option in the lower end somehow. Same for 5060 I bet it'll sell like hotcakes. Never understood why. Or AMD releasing 7060 8GB when their whole schtick is high VRAM.

Intel is now a legit contender for console like settings and has the VRAM.

This video proves you really don't need much for base console parity. The CPU is just a 12400F also to begin with.

And got even better with the B series. 10GB for B570 but the better version being B580 at 12GB which is totally fine at the range of entry point. But it came a bit too late imo and 4060 derp card gathered the sales.

Well speak of the devil

Warzone is free and supports FS4.

How easy was installing Optiscaler? Want to use it for CP2077
