It’s crazy that EA gave a studio full of extreme ideologues tens of millions to make this.

Let’s assume this underperforms and BioWare doesn’t shut down. What happens with Mass Effect? They just try again with this crap?
Game had easily 200m+ usd budget, bro.

BioWare began working on the fourth mainline Dragon Age installment in 2015 and formerly announced the game in 2018.
I bet it has to sell 2m copies in launch window(so full price 70usd) only to break even :p

Gamers: Alloy is ugly and fat
Bioware: Holy my beer

Hey not trying to defend the game here. But she’s a dwarf count yourself lucky she doesn’t have a beard, and also she looks largely unchanged from her appearance in inquisition. Lots of terrible looking characters in this game but I don’t find her objectionable.

This guy's schtick is releasing "reviews" that aren't and often before launch for those not in the know.

Lmao, theres only like 2 reviews from people who have good taste. Final proof theres not a single honest "news outlet" that has consumers money and time on their mind.

Shame ACG didnt get to review it, good thing at least SkillUp did a great in-depth video, crazy that it is so hard to find reviewers with some integrity and standards.

100%. Management signed off on developing a game with a trans director who had a major interest in incorporating LGBT issues into the design. It's not her fault that she made the game she was interested in making. That's what creatives do.

If you hand me 100 million dollars with no oversight you can expect a hardcore immersive sim with a Dark Souls interconnected world and mature themes.

And some boobies, right? Right?

Man, Bioware and Bethesda both turning out utter shit, it's so unbelievably depressing.
Its not like this happened overnight. Both their last outputs and releases prior haven't been exemplary - see ME Andromeda, Anthem and Fallout 76.

A lot of the creatives and talent who made the old games have left years ago.

Sounds like it suffers from the same issue that most modern western AAA titles have fallen victim to recently: stiff, wooden, play-it-safe character dialogue and interactions. The first 3 minutes of the Skill Up review summarizes this pretty well. That’s a bummer.

SkillUP is one of the few I agree with quite a few times, and he doesn't recommend it but he does say YMMV.

The problem with Veilguard are the pre release EA antics towards outlets, and the rampant astroturfing. The best way to judge is to watch a playthrough or go with member impressions you know are genuine and usually on point.

The combat looks pretty fun so I'm eventually getting it, but I'm not paying launch price to experience that kind of writing.

The way this game is being pushed by the media while looking, sounding and having extreme writing issues so clearly to anyone who watches the gameplay is really bizarre, in all my years of following this hobby closely I've never seen such a blatant disconnection with reality.

this clearly shows that game outlets are useless, since they live on publishers payrolls they will not bite the hand that feeds them...

I refuse to believe these are genuine reviews. Paid and astroturfed as fuck. had a feeling from the start that this game would receive a positive review, mainly because video game "journalists" align with its stance on gender politics.
Remember when these paid critics were shilling Concord? And nobody buying it.
That doesn't match with the review scores of concord which were terrible right?
