Are you sure they are starting from scratch? It's art, everything matters, plot, objects, atmosphere, who's in the story. This isn't doom or Duke Nukem case, I'd say in 3 years like when they used to be in xbox og era.

Yeah I hope they let us make our own character and role play however we want. That was like 80% of the fun of the previous games.
But all they’ve shown is that lady in every promo, they haven’t shown a character creator or mentioned anything about being able to make your own. So who knows. It’ll probably be a pass from me if they make us play as some predefined character.

For reference, Lionhead Studios managed to put out the first three Fable games in 2004, 2008, and 2010. Playground Studios is looking like they're needing a minimum of 6 years to make this game and I'd put money down it's not going to be as good as the originals.
I think the industry needs to spend some time rethinking how they produce these AAA games because these 6+ year production cycles are straight up embarrassing.

True, because they haven't shown much, I assume we haven't seen that yet because they are not ready for a deep dive. For me to feel 2025 is a legit solid year, we should have already had some of that prior , but to not even have any gameplay walkthrough tells me its a ways out and I feel its first big showing will likely show that character creator as that is so much of the original concept.
If its really missing it, it might be a pass for me as shit...this is taking a massive chance on a team that never made this before, to remove a core concept like that means we are not even getting the general idea of that IP then.
So I like how it looks, but that isn't enough for a day 1, we need a lot more to support that style like gameplay, features etc. So we'll see

This is because MS is swimming in money and has all the time in the world to let a studio hang itself but WB has been doing nothing but losing money and is desperate to shut down productions which have zero hope of ever breaking even much less turn a profit

Sony didn't announce any single PS5 game until the Future of Gaming event on June 11, 2020, with every title shown there being ultimately released up to March 4, 2022 with Gran Turismo 7.

Big budget game in development since pre-pandemic featuring a Strong Female Protagonist, sequel to a series whose heyday was on the Xbox 360…..yeah the odds ain’t looking good for this one. Definitely have 0 expectations and will be pleasantly surprised if it’s good.
