X-Factor is good though.
The best way to resolve the issue of solo characters is to give solo assists. Every character had an assist that becomes available only when he or she is alone. Example: Viewtiful Joe calls Silvia in, Amaterasu calls in Issun, etc. This would be easy to balance, and it would ensure everyone has a comeback option. I can't think of any Capcom characters that don't have friends to summon, and it would help spread representation.

Dante + Lady
Ryu + Ken
VJ + Silvia
Ammy + Issun
Rathalos + Rathian
Morrigan + Lilith
Felicia + Cat Helper

Etc.

The solo assist would be pre-set and not changeable.

MvC1 doesn't have ToD combos for the most part.

You haven't played a good Wolverine in MVC1, have you?

Vampire Saviour with almost everyone having access to double jumps, air dashes, ground dashes, back dashes, dash cancels, and assists.
So you want Melty Blood with Aquapazza's assists? I would play it!

I've been doing a little bit of research on my Marvel pool and from the looks of it, there are four people I need to really worry about: ATP, WL Bonfire, Spinking, and Scrubeks

Everyone else kinda plays Marvel, used to play it but moved on or don't have any info online (which really scares me.)

Do you guys see anyone else that might be known or at least actually is some type of threat?

Who is the most powerful fighting game character that has still been legal for tournament play?

Kevin in Garou?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAuj5e4uF7c

And that's one of his easy combos.

After that; Wolverine in MVC1, Sho in Breaker's Revenge, CE version of Bison, Kyo/Iori in KOF98, and Angel/Athena/Choi in KOF02. Probably others.

That's either War Machine. Also Gambit had an infinite and don't forget Red Venom. Red Venom has the easiest infinite in the game.

his tiger knee dp x N was a infinite. you could even do ground dp into infnite dp lol.
tons of ways to set it up too. thats just the tip of the iceberg XD
man wtf that's eerily similar to marvel 3. did tvc zero have some tk dp infinite/kill loop too?

also the non-mvc2 vs games have monstrously long combos, though they're not as simple/streamlined as marvel 3's so they're not "built in"

msh and cota are prob "closer" to mvc3 levels of killing off touches in ridiculously long and mind numbingly stupid ways because they're old.

but xmvsf and mshvsf might have similar kinda deals. i've been hit by tod infs into guard break tods in that game too but haven't played it enough vs competent people to know how common/simple the setups are into that. cornered throws and hits were definitely that simple though.

also, fuck wolverine in all of these games
i hate that guy

edit: every single time i have seen garou played by people who know what they are doing kevin looks like the funniest asshole char ever whenever he gets started with his pressure. mega fast hop overheads and lows that convert into monster damage. it looks so simple and like utterly impenetrable at the same time. also him shouting "OVERHEAD!" when he does the low rekka thing is hiiilarious

Kusaregedo maybe? 15f invincible dash into 1f command grab for 40% = fun. Especially when the dash covers most of the screen.

Well, would be if input wasn't: 3D, 6428C
Samsho5S is so fucked up.

Kusaregedo is top tier in SS V SP but he can get zoned out by about 80% of the cast so he's definitely beatable by a ton of characters.

I am disappointed that this gif didn't feature Guile's manly back + HP but otherwise AAA gif, will save it for when Dieminion brings on the AMERICAN pain.

Wolverine wasn't godlike in only one VS game and that was MVC2. Was top or near top in every game.

MVC1 didn't have many TODs (it did have crazy infinites) but damage was high anyway to the point where basic ground series into air series did a ton of damage especially on common top tiers like Strider and Red Venom with low health. It was mostly a very pressure heavy game... you had to sit there and block a lot of bull shit.

Do you guys think that if Nintendo were to takes Super Smash Bros seriously, they would follow the community's rules, rather than their own.
There are tons of people playing Pokemon, when that's radically different from the community rules, so I imagine Super Smash Bros can still be successful however Nintendo handles it.

Though of course Pokemon is a much bigger franchise, so that certainly helps its numbers.

Not Marvel 2 ironically enough.

Yeah, that's why I put the Kappa. I even stuck with him in Marvel 2 and I was able to beat randoms online but once it come to the broken stuff with psylocke, sent, blackheart, storm and magneto, I couldn't do anything. There was this one time that there was a Silver Samurai player who made him look godlike.

Happy 4th all. I'll enjoy watching fireworks on the Vegas strip.. :p
But not enjoying the 105°+ temp

Same to you bro!

Nintendo would probably have their own rules. But I can't imagine them being too far off from the community rules. Stage picking would probably be the only thing that would be different.

Topanga Charity Cup and Kings of Cali 4 added to OP. Cool how the three biggest games at EVO all have pretty big tournaments the weekend before, leading into EVO itself.

I'm thinking of going up to Curleh tomorrow. Would it be worth the train and hotel cost to pay $25 to get bodied?

Were you invited? Only the people invited can pay $25. Spectators pay $10 bucks. If you're paying for a hotel, just keep the money and wait for a more opportune time, unless you have money flowing out of your back pocket then by all means do what you want then.

I can get in as a player. I play fairly often wit the top players in Central CXalifornia and beat a lot of the mid-tier players who got invited. I just haven't asked to be on the list like some of them have.

On one hand it's good practice and on the other I should probably just save money for Evo.
