Theres a couple pretty interesting visuals, like:

But aside from that, its pretty much 300

HD can't save it. What a horribly disappointing color palette this movie has. Where are the colors from The Fall?

I don't have problem with the color palette. The main problem I see is that the movie looks total generic borefest. Maybe it's the trailer, but I got Clash of the Titans vibe from it. That's not good.

Well there's that too.

Apparently I don't hate the trailer as much as many people in this thread do (and I think it was far better than the Morricone version), but I do agree that it's less immediately impressive than The Fall. Some of the elements also seem too similar to The Fall in terms of the shots and actions. Still, I'm hyped. I don't actually have a problem with the colors.

The only thing that kinda bugs me right now is that some of the sets feel too much like a stage (which, at least isn't any worse than 300 where most of the sets felt too much like green screen).

Yea. I've noticed the small scale stuff too. But perhaps, there are greater shots of greater scale. Maybe he's saving the best for the film. Hopefully.

There are some decidedly awesome-looking shots in the trailer, they're just never allowed to breathe. I remain hopeful it doesn't accurately represent the movie.

The HR version of the pic I posted at the top of the page.... :o

One of the really bad parts of the trailer IMO is the way that the rock is broken, and how the blow is placed inside it. Its so incredibly unconvincing and fake.

I agree with those that said there is a feel that its almost like a stage play with huge CG setpieces in between.

it looks just like 300, which was an absolute pile of shit. the acting seems even shittier than 300, if thats at all possible...

This is the only shot of the trailer I really liked (though I have no idea what's going on). Everything else looked ugly and weirdly cheap.

Ok, am i the only one that sees GOD OF WAR references all over the movie? So if SONY ever does do GOD OF WAR, it will be something like "IMMORTALS" only more badass.

Ok, I had never heard of The Fall until seeing the trailer posted in here. I just watched it on Netflix and wow, what a beautiful movie. Not sure if I should make a LTTP thread or not, lol. Though I do have one question about the ending
I thought Roy was paralyzed. Was that really him in all the movies in the montage at the end, or was Alexandria just believing that it was Roy and it was really different actors?

Really looks like a cross between Clash of the Titans and Troy

Wasn't a big fan of Troy but the fight between Hector and Achilles is still better than anything I saw in 300. Also Peter O Toole was a boss too (anyways Hector > Achilles :( )

Troy just strove to be the most average epic movie ever. Yeah, Hector vs Achilles was the high point of the movie and Peter O Toole can do no wrong (Lawrence of fucking Arabia), though he was underutilized. The slow mo walking fight scene in 300 was badass though, can't deny that.

On the whole as far as those two movies are concerned, the parts are better than the sum and it looks like Immortals is going in the same direction.

I hate it when movies try to overcompensate for cinematic visuals by adding an annoying heavy-handed exclusion filter that leaves the image too yellow. They then ignore to fix it by adjusting the contrast.

This is how it looks without the extra yellow, and then with only some extra contrast. The yellow is obviously too strong so it looks like the typical piss-yellow filter.

Maybe I'm crazy, but the trailer didn't look all that bad to me, then again I did enjoy 300 (and it seems everyone here hates like a redheaded stepchild). I've never heard of The Fall before so I'll be checking that out on Netflix.

Watch The Fall and The Cell, though Jennifer Lopez's acting is horrible as always.

Think of the Sistine Chapel, that's where the inspiration for this shot comes from and it's depicting a battle between the gods.

While I didn't really like the trailer I also liked 300 a lot.

She did look awesome though in that movie.

I really want to see The Fall

According to Tarsem in his commentary, it's left up to the viewer to decide what happened to Roy.

The Fall is on Netflix, and everyone should watch it.

Thanks for posting this, I was wondering if it was on Netflix. I've never watched it.

And the trailer was weird. Some really cool effects, very impactful but then there's moments like when Theseus tries to rally the troops that come off very corny. Also not digging the muddy tones. They usually lack beautiful blues. You'd think they'd use the pallet to accentuate vibrant colors but no its a mixture of browns and yellow.

Also, to me, this looks way better than 300. The fantasy aspects with actual Gods and relics seems like it'll up the entertainment and interest factor by a good margin. Maybe I've been playing too much Titan Quest.

Yes, because all movies are judged based on their cultural value and impact. Shhh....

I get what you're saying, but 300 was pure cheese, enjoyable though it may have been.

With Jett's screengrabs, it looks beautiful--almost like a classical painting in a lot of shots. Maybe the trailer cut is responsible for the Greek Brah feeling.

The trailer for this came before my viewing of Thor today. Oddly it looked less brown and I think there's a quick glimpse of Olympus? that seems to have a beautiful blue and white pallet. Or maybe it could have been another Earthly place. Gave me more faith in this.

Looks pretty lame actually.
I'm getting more of a "clash of the titans remake" vibe from this than a 300 vibe.
Can't take the main character seriously too, what's with that motivational speech in the trailer? He looks like such a pansy.
