Congratulations: you have ten percent more people playing, but are receiving seventy-two percent less revenue per install.

How will they try to recoup this shortfall I wonder?

Same as digital perchase… Also you can buy a physical copy if you want. GP is just another option.
You could quick resume up to 7 games, you couldn't look further than these 7 games, so it's not 300+ games, practically speaking, as they advertised. Adding the fees for renewal to keep you busy, that's how much it really cost. you're a human, not a machine.

I don’t get the relation you are making between Quickresume and Gamepass… Also i have around 15 GP games installed on my Series X.

There aren’t that many Ultimate subscribers on Xbox, total sub count is around 30 mil and that’s all the tiers and PC Gamepass included.

But one could question if by ”Xbox” they actually mean any device with access to the Xbox app. I play it on PC. Is that an Xbox now? Yes it is going by their ad. Then it’s easy to understand that ”Xbox” is the biggest platform.
Well, it is a like it or not situation, because that is the direction they are moving in. If they can get people on the PC to sign up for game pass to play COD, I think that is a win in their books. I am still not sure if we have an idea and I think it is a bit too soon to reach hard conclusions, of how many people who only played COD signed up for GP and how much of those people convert to long time subscribers. Early signs seem to be good for Game Pass.

TDIL that COD players do not actually look at the screen while they are playing. I never knew that was a strategy. Must be why I sucked at COD. :messenger_winking_tongue:

Can only go by myself. I’m in as long as I can get the subscription at a lower price. Right now I’m set til 2026 at $5/month through stacked prepaid Xbox Live cards.
But if I have to pay $20/month I would probably think twice. Might be worth it for short periods when big games are coming, like now with COD, Flight Sim, Stalker 2, Indy. But the service needs big games regularly to be worth that kind of money, for me at least. Can’t have slow periods for half a year or more, then it’s better to just pop in for short subs.

Yeah, that's something they will have to do, and their big purchase of Activision (I think anyway) was for this reason. It will be interesting to see what happens from here. I thought paying $20 was a bit much too, so I am no longer subscribed. If there is a game that interests me, I will just buy it.

Just give in. Let game pass set you free from the shackles of choice.
I subbed for 3 years cause I wanted to experience more games to have better understanding of what I'm about to buy, and then I found myself making more choices than usual without taking huge risks, and these games made me more satisfied than ever, gamepass is like going to prison, you feel way better when you quit.

Don’t know what big games Activision Blizzard have coming in the near future, another COD next year and another Diablo in 5+ years? 🤷‍♂️
They cancelled the survival game, that could’ve been something in 2-3 years maybe.
I don’t think they can get a steady flow of games through first party, they need to pay big to get more third party games on the service.

Yeah, you are not wrong. They are going to have to keep a steady flow of games coming to make it worth it.
