And people told me that i'm trolling the thread when i said there are low res textures.
You were trolling, like all your posts in Xbox threads. How you keep skipping under the mods radar i dont know, but it wont go on forever.

Also i love the concern trolling about the 30fps mode from the resident shit posters, when the 2 vids of the game, that have blown away 99% of people, are clearly 60fps.

Then others also trolling if they saw some flaws, aren't they. :/ I said, it looked like to me it was 30 during stream. Especially if they said it will be a 4k/30. I have right to suspect that game was showed at 30fps. If trailers were uploaded later at 60, good then. It was showed at 60fps.

There are low res textures in all games. Did you go behind the world serpent in God of War? It was a like a blurry, smeary mess on some of those body textures (because I'm betting 90% of players won't paddle out there), which is fine. Same for textures on overhangs of cliffs, directly below you that youre not meant to see in a lot of games. It's just part of game design and creative budgeting.

Horizon 5 is 30fps??? On an engine from last gen??? With no RT?????

Well MS flight simulator, you are on your own.
Ironically it's running on the same engine.

Then, the company's CEO shared the main technical challenges to successfully overcome and complete the Microsoft Flight Simulator, having to master the FTech Engine, graphics engine of the Forza franchise, used in Flight Simulator, and Azure, provided by the Microsoft Cloud.

Asobo Studio says it will maintain content support and updates on Microsoft Flight Simulator for 10 years (madinfinite.com)

LOL anyone seriously expected graphics like THIS at 4k60? Yeah, maybe on a 3090. Not on a fucking console.

The game looks incredible. Absolutely amazing job considering it's cross gen - presumably it was primarily built for the Series X and will be ported down.

Just be grateful that with this and Ratchet, it's becoming pretty clear that we can have a real next gen leap even at native 4k, which also very handily means that we can have widely available 60fps modes at very respectable resolutions.

Going to be a great generation.

Yeah, but i noticed low res textures close to the car on the ground, not that far away. And also, in some picture on previous post you can see the shimmering too.

Well you have good eyes, and taking the nature of the game (a fucking racing game) does it really matter?. Its like the poeple that say Flight Sims graphics can break up when you are at ground level, well they can yeah, but its a flying game.

How about just saying what most people are rightfully saying, that the game looks fantastic. Is it so hard to do for some of you?. If it is too hard for some of you fanboys, why not say nothing at all then.

But it's not just that is more arcadey and relaxed, it's that there's no draw, no pull, no in game reason to play it at all as far as I could tell. It's boring. You might as well be watching a video of fake cars driving around.

I like arcade racers and this isn't that. It's barely even racing! It's driving to races and then having a 'race' that isn't timed or ranked or recorded and doesn't matter for progression.

Utterly boring and pointless
There are campaign races if you want more structure and you can increase the difficult if you think it’s too easy and try clearing all challenges or explore all roads or earn money to get your dream car and there are definitely timed races and regular races too you probably just haven’t played enough.

I play it because it’s fun, that’s my pull. Only thing I miss is a nitro boost, that would make it even more fun, I want to blast out from that cliff in the video and see how far I can jump, because why not? 😎🥳

I guess. I kinda notice it a lot in most games. Like the 30fps monsters in DA:I or lod pop in on Odyssey. I'm really sensitive to it. I kinda of just accept it's part and parcel now, and something I have to deal with in every game. It;s just how the devs hide it, or where it appears. If it's prominent then yeah it will annoy me, but if it's peripheral then can't complain too much I guess 🤷‍♂️

moving at that pace, it just might not worth it for 99% of cases unless you are driving underground or under a bridge for a very long section of a track.

RT is really expensive. In R&C it's the difference between 1440p and 1800p, which I think is about double the resolution. So in effect they're using about half the GPU budget just for some fancy reflections. Is it worth it? Probably in that game, because the resolution difference isn't that noticeable with the temporal injection. But the problem is we don't see what other uses all that power could be put to. Personally I think it's extremely unlikely that RT reflections are the best possible use of that budget. It'd be different if we were looking at really good GI like Metro Exodus, but RT reflections are often just a technical showpiece: impressively accurate without really looking that attractive.

MS should send these guys over to 343 to do the Halo Infinite backgrounds and environments. This looks really good while Halo still looked very last gen.

I don't find it fun. They aren't real cars and so it's not interesting to see how far they have programmed it to jump.

The problem with the campaign is that you can progress (I think) by coming last in every race. And you can't even tell if your times are getting quicker. It's crazy.

I don't find it easy in the sense that I can always win, I find that I have no desire to try and win because it doesn't reward you with winning in the game.

I can have fun just 'mucking around' for five hours or so but for a full price game I expect more than that. I play games for the challenge and the dopamine reward, not to feel my brain dribble out of my ears as I hold throttle and listen to an awfully 'cool' NPC on the radio.

It's such a huge shame that people are happy with this rubbish.

Watched the 4k gameplay trailer and I thought the game looked good. It is another solid game. I can't really say I'm wowed by the visuals but they do look pretty good and the cars do look amazing. Plus it looks fun.

I'm not negative at all, that's just the reality. I've seen dozens of examples, from 5 to 35 year olds, who are technically playing the games but actually not doing anything meaningful for hours, and, FH is one of those kind games, along with GTA5, Minecraft, Roblox etc., that's why those games exist and are so popular, because there's a massive audience who wants to be connected with other people, but not in a competitive manner. You just drive around, crash into each other, do some challenges every now and then and have fun, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, especially with so many different titles to chose from - you want a sophisticated SP campaign, there's FM, you want robust competitive online, there's GT Sport, you want a sandbox experience, there's FH, and so on.
I just think it’s unfair to say it’s not meaningful. It’s fun, that’s the meaning. Not just for this game but gaming in general.

In short it’s a playground, you simply go there because you want to play, to have fun. And it’s cars. Double the fun!

Personally I think it’s refreshing when games don’t try to be super serious to the point where it’s more work than fun. I think gaming needs more of that.

Riders Republic seems to be similar as well, looks utterly pointless and incredibly fun.

Looks very good in the aspects that can be brute forced (polygon count, resolution, post-effects).

DriveClub on the base PS4 is artistically the best looking racing game of the entire PS4/Xbone generation. And looking at FH5, it seems DC will keep the crown longer than expected.

In mexico they drive in the right side ?

Every civilized country in the world drives in the right side of the road.. which is the right side. Not the left side.

I take it you didn't watch the videos?

as a positive to 4k/30 and seperate 60fps option... this tells me they are atleast pushing next gen far and is not just a port up, since Horizon 4 was 4k/60, if this was the same i would question how much of an improvement there would be

i assume there is a Xbox One version, i wonder how it will compare

My only complaint is the map looks very barren.

Some screenshots almost look like a sci-fi post apocalyptic game :messenger_grinning_smiling:

I knew it looked cross gen the moment I saw it. They definitely upped the world detail but everything else is pretty much the same. Destruction wasnt there. Lighting looks identical to Horizon 4. Basically Horizon Forbidden West. Best looking game but still held back by last gen.

And for Phil to use Jim Ryan's 'built from the ground up' quote is just a head scratcher. I swear these suits live in their own world.
Are-you sure you watched it in 4k? Lighting has improved a lot. How the sunshine filters through the leaves and trees.

I showed the missus the trailer last night, first thing she said was that it looks great but the cars look fake, shes not into gaming at all, but she likes Mexico, holidays, all that shit..

But it got me thinking, she has a point. The cars do look weirdly out of place and I cant put my finger on it. One of the points that stick out is the Lambo just sliding round the corner, like its just a block, on ice

Is it because once the scenery looks THAT good then once you plonk a model in it then it'll always look off? Maybe

The 'built from the ground up' raised a good laugh too.

I think? By placing last? Have you played Forza or not?

Its an ‘Arcade racer’, not a simulation. It does reward you with winning, but if you’re happy just to continue not to unlock shit and not have gold trophies next to each race that’s on you. You can blast through GT1 licence tests to in 5 minutes if you don’t strive for perfection.

But, since it’s so easy that you feel your brain dribbling out show us your achievement scores with all assists turned off, and times on the hardest difficulty.

Or better yet post gamer tag and I’ll add you 🤟🏻

I agree. Pretty much every game this gen that's looked great, had lots of things stick out that I would not of noticed last gen. Shadow popin has been the worst.

What do you actually like if you’re disconnected to the point where something isn’t fun because it’s programmed and not real?
Nothing in gaming is real lol, I mean Aerith was just some polygons they never bothered to load into the game again and hating the polygons of a certain… golfer… makes as much sense as hating this △ 😅

Anyway I understand that you want more structure, and I assume you talk about FH4 here.
How much have you played?
FH3 was no doubt more structured. What did you think about that?

But we’re still talking about the highest rated racing game in over two generations so it seems like nitpicking to try highlight the faults, all in all Playground is competing with themselves at this point, may not be for you but calling it rubbish is missing the point, people are hyped about FH5 for a reason. It doesn’t make sense to drive a lambo off a cliff and blast through a rain forest and seeing trees and crap fly everywhere, but it’s fun fun fun! 😁

MS: Shows ingame gameplay trailer with apparent RT reflections enabled! Dude from MS dev team speaks and advertises the Game RT and 4K resolution!
Also MS: Official Forza Page displays that RT mode in only for View mode - Photomode! and game is running at 4K@30 lol (with optional 60fps mode though)
My humble opinion: That was some serious EPIC FAIL moment!

If there was 1 game that would draw me from playstation to Xbox, it would be this.

I bet playground could make a similar motorstorm style game in no time using this engine.
I miss Motorstorm so much, it was easily PlayStation’s best racing exclusive outside of GT. I’d love for Bluepoint to do PS5 remakes of each game. Apocalypse in particular would be insane.

It was actually said in the show that RT was for Forzavista. Haven’t checked if it’s there in gameplay too but you’re saying it is?
