I mean, nvidia is shady as it gets, but Apple has been doing the same shit for decades now, cherry-picking comparisons with older tech.

The 5070 is underwelming but it's perfectly in line with the laws of physics: a little (or no) improvement over its predecessor.

If you can get it for MSRP, it's a great card, despite the 12gb.

The 5070ti is much, much better. And that's why it costs 50% more.

Framegen is another problem entirely: it's a nice feature, especially so for demanding, non competitive games. It really feels better (even if the underlying framerate doesn't change).

Some will, but AMD's rep is super bad these days. They have to end up with a lot of happy owners and word of mouth from this generation, then do good again 2 years from now. At that point they'll have a good chunk of cred back and more people will open up to the idea of buying red.

The comparisons starting tomorrow might get a little ugly for nvidia, but there are a ton of buyers who aren't going to risk changing brands for various reasons.

Blender "works" with AMD. There is plugins and such for newer AMD cards, but prone to bugs and crashes. Life is easier with an NVIDIA GPU in these products.

Still sitting on my 3080 Ti, not really seeing a reason to upgrade especially with DLSS 4 performance being so goddamn good.

Outside of path tracing monsters which I wish I had more performance.

Even a killer 9070XT if it can be found at MSRP, I'm gonna use it for what? Which games am I really blocked in the near future with my GPU? If I was 4k maybe but I'm just 3440x1440.

Nvidia claimed during their presentation that the 5070, with 4x MFG, is about 4090 level. Is that true? If yes, stop complaining—they didn’t lie. If it’s not true and the 4090 is far ahead in native vs. 4x frame gen, then he can criticize Nvidia all he wants.

This chart is absolutely depressing. Extrapolate that out, and it's a scary situation next gen.

Also Nvidia knew they fucked up big time when the RTX 3080 had ~83% of the performance of RTX 3090 (based on that image)... for ~47% of the cost.

We're going to be paying for that for the rest of eternity.

Well we've got fsr4 and the rt is now in the ballpark. You can only double frame gen and not quadruple it, I guess. Reviews tomorrow but I don't think there will be much between them.
