RTX-5090-FE---Benchmark-giochi---4K-Raster---Dragon-Age-Veilguard.png

Raster:

In classic rasterization, the RTX 5090 is, on average, 28% faster than the RTX 4090 and 72% faster than the RTX 4080 SUPER.
RT:

This is where the RTX 5090 shines, at least in games with DLSS 4 support: performance is more than doubled compared to the 4090 where there is Multi Frame Generation, allowing you to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K at an average of 325 FPS, Star Wars Outlaws at over 220 FPS with path tracing, or Alan Wake 2 at an average of 180 FPS, again with path tracing enabled.

in titles with the old frame generation , however, the gap between RTX 5090 and RTX 4090 is much closer to what was recorded in rasterization: on average we detected a + 25%.

Meh! All that extra silicon and power for a mere 28% 'Apples to Apples' uplift. Very poor.

...won't stop the FOMO dipshits from buying them though.

That's because raster is old news

You do not buy these for raster

The NPU part which takes a lot of silicon will flex for the new rendering technologies.

It also took Ada a while to show the advantages of SER and so on, it took Cyberpunk 2077 overdrive to showcase the Ada architecture advantage.

Alan wake 2 with RTX Mega geometry, new upscaler, new ray reconstruction, should already be indicative of a portion of blackwell's advantage. When you add neural shaders and neural cache radiance path tracing, again it will surpass any previous RTX cards.

My 4090 is still going for $1900 used, so as long as I can snag the FE this will be a lateral upgrade for 25% more power and MFG. Seems like a great deal.

I thought this video might be helpful for people: Fake Frame Image Quality: DLSS 4, MFG 4X, & NVIDIA Transformer Model Comparison (Gamers Nexus)

I found it interesting. As someone who could not handle 2x frames on my 4090, I was surprised to find out that the new model was a downgrade in many ways. I think this does a good job pointing out some flaws. I now know why playing a game with MFG 4X, looked like I just lowered the settings... Now I know.

You poor fools who sold your 4000 series GPUs in hope to get 5000 series GPUs…

Maybe next time people will learn to not sell their perfectly viable GPUs until they get the new one in their hand.

Who am I kidding? Y’all will never learn.

My 4090 will remain my gaming GPU for this generation, but my 7800XT will get upgraded to a 9070XT in my living room Bazzite/SteamOS PC….unless performance isn’t what advertised.

I'm the same. 4090 is sticking in my main desktop and I will put whatever in my SFF machine. Still not purchased a GPU yet. Gonna see how 9070 XT once released.

Judging by what leaks we have, the 9070 XT (and regular 9070) might well be ideal for SFF builds because of the low temps:

The minimum temperature of the graphics processor during the test was 43°C, and the peak is 61°C. This confirms that AMD has placed a special emphasis on energy efficiency their new cards.

Pair that with the fact that AMD cards can run Linux without any issues (thinking forward to the imminent SteamOS release), and these might end up being the best all round GPUs for HTPC that we've had in a long time.

Yeah, my Radeon 7800XT/7800X3D Bazzite PC occasionally runs games better than my 4090/9800X3D. I usually get better higher fps, but I find that I often get much more consistent performance on my Bazzite PC. Jedi Fallen Order was far more consistent and stable on my Bazzite PC than my windows desktop.

I am really hoping the 9070XT really does improve performance in RT, that FSR4 can rival DLSS3. Expecting it to rival DLSS4 is a bit much, but DLSS3 makes it ultra competitive.

9800x3D and 5090….im not impressed my 7950x3D and 4090 where doing the job…Don’t upgrade guys
You weren't truly in need for an upgrade. Especially on the gpu side. The 4090 still is a monster.

I was coming from a 9900k and a 3090. Seemed the perfect time.

But I'm still looking for a gpu xD

Just sold my 7900xt. Have a 5070ti on preorder but im going to go for a 9070xt because why not. No idea when my 5070ti is going to ship at this rate. Recent tariffs now in effect by orange man call into question most things now.

This is assuming real world benches place the 9070xt close to the 5070ti.

Don't jump the gun there, there may not even be good availability of 9070 XT.

Scalpers will make a buck where they can. That's been made evident with damn near everything th past 5 years.

Get a 4070 ti super instead?

Who's orange man?

Where is here? Cause I see them online for $800 and change USD.

"Inherited high egg prices"
Canada. I already secured a MSRP 5070ti but haven’t yet received it because Nvidia is retarded.

He said he would lower egg prices day one. Google search confirms the statement.

Well...duh. My 7800XT aint going anywhere until the 9070XT is installed and running.

And yes, I agree, these 9070XT cards could end up being unavailable for a good long while. If I can't get one right away, I can wait.

Probably a bad idea to dump your card before having a replacement these days.

Where were you able to preorder? I haven’t seen any system for that.

I don’t get how people make the mistake of selling their GPUs in anticipation of new GPUs before they actually acquire the new GPU. It happened every single time where supply is low, prices get ridiculous. Everyone knows that nvidia is prioritizing their chips for AI and that GPUs get the scraps and somehow dumbasses thought they could get 5000 series GPUs on launch.

I’d hope that gamers step up to the plate and give AMD market share if the 9070 XT ends up great.

Right now if the 5000 series ends up selling well then the only lesson nvidia will learn is that they can completely rake gamers over the coals. You’re accepting bad drivers, gimped ROPs…

But you'll need to use the 4090 as a dedicated PhsyX card if you ever want to play Mirror's Edge or Batman Arkham ever again.

It's a mistake I'll make again, if I can get a lot of money for an old card.

I sold my 3090 for the price of 4080 super (before this shitstorm). So I side-graded to that. I already sold that card too in the frenzy and I'm using a 4070 super which I got for dirt cheap (and now those too are out of stock everywhere I look).

Still, getting a 5090 won't be easy. xD

I also have a refurbished 4090 in backorder (which I'll never get, as I'm garanteed some profit given the situation).

I mean, if I had a billion dollars and I added 28% on top of that. It's a big leap as opposed to if I had a million dollars. The concept applies here too.
