Speaking of Nioh, I forgot to play that game. I've gotta play it by the end of the year.
There's more to talk about in any game than PUBG, lol. I fully get why it's fun, but it's the same conversation every week, just them talking about how great it is and regurgitating the same reasons why. Other games actually have different qualities to them that can start a conversation.
Looking forward to it!It's secretly GOTY so enjoy
i'm hyped for some EVO talk
Me too. EVO was amazing as always. Great finals for each gamei'm hyped for some EVO talk
Looking forward to it!
Dan really rubbed me the wrong way in that Yakuza series. He's the dude that laughs while forcing someone else to struggle with something and then whines nonstop when he does something he's not enjoying.
I'm glad Jason can talk to Ben about it.

So what happens when the Tender Lovin Care playthrough gets Giant Bomb blocked in the UK
These recent conversations about Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 made me realize something... Why are all Japanese games so long? Just this year we have Yakuza, Nioh, Nier, Gravity Rush 2, Persona 5, and Zelda. Last year FF15. I wonder if it's the Japanese mentality to explain everything over and over and over and over, which naturally inflates the game's length. Nothing is ever succinct or subtle in Japanese games. Maybe there's something lost in translation? Maybe Japan's affinity to dialogue-heavy stuff like RPGs and visual novels?
And I'm not saying Western games are immune to this issue, but at least there's more of an indie scene that can give us stuff like Abzu, Furi, or Inside.
which are the best Hitman videos to watch? recently started playing it and want to watch some of the GB content
Thanks for the advice! I'll see what I want to do when I start playing it.Don't get burned out! By halfway it's suuuuper repetitive. Always mix in story quests with side quests so you can experience a variety of environments.
I played that game. It was... not atrocious, but definitely not good. I liked it enough to finish it, though I remember some frustration with checkpointing (or lack thereof). I think the game had some decent music and atmosphere? It's been a while. There a Halle Berry Catwoman game?

If it's like Dark Souls, then I'll take my time until I run through enemies after dying a lot.Always take your time. Never rush. Immerse in the city atmosphere.
I think they Alex loved the game while the other two enjoyed it. I think the ending cut scenes were too long and weren't really exciting. I guess they were burnt out by that point. I'm still surprised by how much trouble Dan has with the combat.kind of a bummer that Alex seems to be the only one that was into 0 for the whole journey. Vinny seemed into it and liked the story but maybe he was disappointed by the extent of the combat/heat system? I hope they follow through and take a break after kiwami comes out, maybe 2018 or something

It's a real shame that GB doesn't do things like sponsor their features or anything like that that the youtubers do. I 100% want to try out Yakuza 0 but as a result I stopped watching the feature.
You mean videos comissioned by game creators? Those are just advertisements. It's a real shame that GB doesn't do things like sponsor their features or anything like that that the youtubers do. I 100% want to try out Yakuza 0 but as a result I stopped watching the feature.
I would legit stop watching GB if they had sponsored features from publishers/developers. Having non-publishers/developers ads during the Bombcast live stream is bad enough.
I thought so too. I think the weekly format is a big reason for why he kept forgetting how to play the game. He kept forgetting to block up until the end of the game during this episode.yeah i'm shocked. I thought he beat DmC on all difficulty levels? I think I can count the number of times he dodged/rolled in BitE on one hand
Yeah Y0 had some great atmosphere when I played it. It just has a ton for you to do.When Y3 became 100% 3D, I was just walking around enjoying the world. It was so damn relaxing. The game's atmosphere with the ambient noise in the cities and countrysides is just stellar. That's how I played the Yakuza games most of the time.

Imagine a Kickstarter kind of deal where people can vote with their wallet what kind of content they'd want GB to produce. *thinkingemoji*
I can only imagine the amount of paperwork and departments that would need to be involved to get a sponsor wouldn't be worth it for a one off feature. It's kinda crazy how much resources they spent on Yakuza 0 without a sponsor behind it, if you think about it. Even for a company like CBS. I wonder if they get any pressure to optimize their ROI.

I mean, question is how many new subscribers Yakuza 0 got them, or how many users now feel more inclined to re-new their subscriptions because of Yakuza 0. That's a lot of content after all and if the answer is: "not that many" it would be kinda bad. Opportunity costs and all. The podcast too, but at least that got some ads now. And I know myn will say who cares since their paid with subscriptions, but I can't imagine CBS always sharing that sentiment.
I was just about to wonder-out-loud how much they even get from inserting those podcast ads. I guess the theoretical push towards premiumship would offset any time-related costs, but still.
Yakuza and Steal My Sunshine are the biggest reasons I feel inspired to resub.
I 100% understand ads in the normal version of Bombcast but having them playing during piss breaks in a premium only stream drives me up the walls

Is this a UPF thing? I haven't seen it before.
