Since you clearly hold tremendous sway over Codemasters, would you ask 'em to make me an HD remake of BMX Simulator please?
Sure!
Hey CodiesLoore, could you guys please make a HD Remake of BMX Simulator, please?

Hopefully they are working on the engine upgrades for Dirt 4, which I hope will be their EGO Engine showpiece for the new consoles. Autosport comes only a year after GRID 2, so I wasn't expecting a lot. New cars, some new tracks and improved handling system are enough for me.
Sure!

Sorry, we're a 4 wheels type of dev right now :'(
Haha. Seriously. What the fuck. I'm impressed. Cockpit view is back, but it's so gimped that you can't even call it cockpit view.
Codemasters, the true creators of racing games. What a joke. Even Watch Dogs has cockpit view.
Wait, this isn't Grid 2? Why are there exactly the same tracks as in 2?
I wanted to say this a while back, but was afraid of getting flamed...
They really shouldn't be charging $49 for this game. It seems like a update + DLC to GRID 2 rather than a new game. I feel that $35 to $39 would be a better price for this game. Because all they did was added a cockpit view cam (which modders already accomplished), some new tracks and some new cars plus a rework on certain aspects of the game which could have easily been released as an update
The thing is a lot of elements look better on Dirt2, a game using a 5 year old EGO engine.
The Watch Dogs cockpit view is exactly the same (low detail disguised by a DOF effect).Haha. Seriously. What the fuck. I'm (not?) impressed. Cockpit view is back, but it's so gimped that you can't even call it cockpit view.

How many times does it need to be said... this is not GRID 3. It should be clear from the title. It's using existing tech, but they claim it required more than just a patch to GRID 2 to make it happen. It has no bearing on what F1 2014 will look like. They have new tech coming. This is not it.Could almost be a reskin of previous GRID games, handling still looks awful and twitchy, cockpit view is a joke is there something wrong with the characters eyes that makes cockpit so blurry?
I was excited for F1 2014 but looking at this I don't see there being an appreciable jump in graphics quality.
Makes me laugh that they decided to drop all other kinds of games and focus exclusively on racing games when they can't even do racing games right.
Put this up with Forza and Driveclub and it's just embarrassing.
How can a company that made TOCA Race Driver and Race Driver 2 make this........
The Watch Dogs cockpit view is exactly the same (low detail disguised by a DOF effect).
Whether it is a decent proposition in terms of value is another matter. Certainly on PC, it's not being sold at 'full price'. So take it or leave it I guess.
A third person action game in a open world versus a racing game. Ok.

$50 in pc is not a great price for a mod imo. What's full price for you?

Good to hear your impressions, video is in 1080p though, check with another browser.
PS: Well, youtube 1080p, it still looks like shit.
Dirt 2 is visually and technically years ahead of Grid autosport. Not only cockpits with animated toys, tessellated flags and water and lighting shits over new ones.
5 years ago, fuck me

Will there be a demo like GRID 2 though? Because if the only way to try it is buying it... that's an issue. CodiesLoore can you give any insight?Holy negativity Batman!
You guys should probably wait until you actually try the game before bitching about it?
Since when are they illegitimate? I've seen this site recommended many times on GAF.Illegitimate CD key resellers don't count man!

How many cars are on the screen/track in DIRT games? How many of that enormous amount of cars are prone to inrace damage, AI scripts, etc in the same time as players car?
Do you have even the slightest idea about amount of the overhead when you have only one car - controlled by the player - compared to 15 AI cars on track?
These kind of "arguments" are very annoying.
Who is making the OT| by the way? I hope GAF-races can be a thing like it was mentioned earlier in the thread. I want to at least check some screenshots from those championships until I can afford the game on PC.![]()

Who ever does it, let me know what info you need and I'll share it all up, or artwork etc![]()
I think you'll see F1 2014 a little bit after Autosport is released. CM won't want to take the focus away from a game they're just about to launch, similar to how F1 2013's reveal came after GRID 2 was released. Are you guys going to show off F1 2014 shortly?
8 cars on track. Maybe 9. Everyone with damage. I would not say the drivers AI in codemasters games seem very complex btw.
I am salty because I used to be a very loyal codemasters costumer. Until showdown.
Again, this can all be largely explained by the limitations of their engine and the hardware it is designed for.My feelings exactly. Dirt Showdown was the first title in that CM policy of "appeal to wider audiences" in an attempt to take a bit of the NFS market. It was also one of the most disappointing games I ever tried.
GRID 2 was almost the same "let down", specially for GRID 1 fans.
Now as you said, CM seems to be trying to sell something where most of the features are more like a "mod" of GRID 2 ( www.bayetasmod.com ) with added circuits from other games.
I think the last good racing game from CM was Dirt3, and even in that case, it was certainly not the "WTF!" reaction of the quality of Dirt2 in 2009. I wonder where those people are now...
I remember reading somewhere that most of the people that where involved in Dirt2 left the company and went to work on Forza Horizon, a very good game for the 360 that featured a Rally DLC too.
I guess they must be working on FH2 now, which we will probably see at E3.

Whats the max AI on track?
Great list.
Something I noted... I think it's the first time I see licensed real world circuit available in reversed? In other games it's always only the fictional tracks that are available in reveresed.
My brain is simply not able to process the idea of going through Eau-Rouge downhill at full speed after the longest straight of the circuit..... My god...
