Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reaches over 256k CCU during its launch week on Steam, with user reviews sitting at 'Very Positive'

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Prologue was cool, but a bit too slow at times with way much too much tutorial. But it's nice in the way it set things up and introducing you to the world.

Also got to play a bit of the game after the prologue. It's fun to start being so poor and also having so many options for stuff to do. Also the game feels more polished than the first one, specially the combat which feels less jank. Can't wait to play more.

Played about an hour and seemed grand, but I was weirdly stuck during a training fight with one of your mates. I was supposed to riposte, but he wouldn't do anything except push me away if I got too close, and I couldn't attack, only defend. After about 5 minutes, dialogue kicked in saying something like "aye, forget about it then" and moved on to the practice fight as a whole. Think I'll stick to arrows or try playing with a controller.

It seemed janky, but it also fixed itself, so it's not too bad. Hope it grabs me soon and I get immersed into the world.

Graphically, it's fine. Performance seems good, but cutscenes seem weird, according to Rivatuner some are locked to 30fps, some to 60fps, and some to the max you set it.

Hopefully.

Definitely not.
I mean… on one hand you have a name brand game backed by one of the biggest publishers ever…and it sinks due to a variety of design and narrative choices.

On the other hand, you have a small(ish) publisher putting money on an indie developer making an RPG with hardcore elements and everyone loves it.

Yeah, they notice

My initial prediction was 150-200k but I think it'll be somewhere between 200-250k at the weekend.

After watching the first hour, this isn't going to be type of game at all. This is a very slow-burn, but I'm happy that it's doing well.

Yeah, you either vibe with its slow punishing pace or you don't. I really enjoy it. Nothing else really Iike it, at least at this scale

Just keep in mind that first two hours or so are linear prologue to get player up to speed with events in the first game. The game is very different once set loose in the open world. It was the same in first game although there the linear prologue was a bit longer.

According to SteamDB, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II registered a peak of 159,351 players 17 hours ago, while 124,396 people are playing at the time of this post . The number could rise over the weekend.

With this maximum peak of registered players, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has easily surpassed the first game, which registered a maximum peak of 96,069 players 7 years ago.

Dont forget the game has twitch drops until February 11:

Up to just under 219K. And it’s still early in US. It should go over 250K by the evening.

I think the game has a chance to hit 300K next weekend if word of mouth keeps spreading as it’s a long game and most people won’t be finished.

What do you mean specifically? It takes place in Bohemia in the 15th century in the Holy Roman Empire, so yes, Christianity is very strong and present here.
As I'd like it to be. Again, this is all from a shitpost on X so I'm not "joining the fight" or anything, but are there really no more church interiors? Also saw a few quests where Christians are clearly made out to be the bad guys. Hard to know if that's the prevailing tone from what I've seen or just engagement farming. They will have to miss me with any amount of "middle aged Christians are big meanies". I would not be here today had they not done what they did. Bless up! There's also that Bohemian fella giving morality lessons to the locals... not sure if they mean it or if they're trying to deftly pander to the purple side a bit. Either way, just seems like they're trying to pander a little bit to every side while only really satisfying the consooomers in the process. Will continue to hold out hope for a truly based game about the HRE. (This does make me feel better about not being able to click with the combat though)

Purple form having an existential crisis trying to understand how "right wing chud scum" varva has progressive themes in a game. Some of them are petitioning to ban discussion of the game entirely lmao

And that is exactly why you should not make judgements based on screenshots taken out of context.
Well I'm basically asking if that Bohemian ever gets his due. I don't want to give them my 50 hours if this guy gets to smugly shit on my people and ride off into the sunset. I'd rather just play F Zero.

I'd love a citation for this.

White people don't season their food! How original. Totally just coincidence though, not pandering.

Have not finished part 1, but what I'm hearing about the Christianity and church angle has me more put off than the gay angle.
It’s a highly realistic historical fiction. The religious stuff is very on brand for that period.

Also the “gay” screenshot (of them shirtless in the lake) that’s been passed around in so many threads is actually Henry and Hans going to check out some girls

What do you know about the Crusades? The 20th century Hollywood account? This website wouldn’t exist to have this conversation if the Crusades did not take place. The alternative was just getting our shit pushed in by the Ottomans.

Warhorse knows better, they just chickened out at the last minute like CDPR did on Cyberpunk.

C. Eastern Europe > West

I think everyone knows it at this point Mich 😉

Eastern Europe + Japan + Korea + ...China (gasp !) is what's keeping gaming alive at this point 'cause if we were exclusively waiting for overinflated, overproduced and 6+ years to make politically charged Western slop we'd be all fucked.

Just go play F zero in your safe space and get off this thread then.

Thanks!

Is this what you meant by "black and white" ?
The Hogwarts Legacy one is an odd example. Nothing random about the character, and Uagadou Wizards being proficient in Wandless magic is something JK Rowling put in the lore many years ago, although it is superior in terms of not needing a wand, it lacks in ease of use and power. Nobody was claiming using a Wand is inferior.

He is absolutely right on the food part. Medieval food in Bohemia was not exactly know for its spice, especially around the start of the 15th Century. Plenty of fat, protein, and carbs, but a variety of strong spice were not common. Lots of recipes were peas, mush, gruel, onions, and simple spices like pepper or ginger. Things did improve around the 16th/17th century with the usage of dumplings, foreign influences from Spain, France, and Italy. Eventually the usage of potatoes from the new world as well.

Besides, he is not even shitting on “white” cuisine, Venice is mentioned as having superior food, and in 1403 they probably did.
