don't really give a fuck but it is kinda weird, wtf is the point
LmaoWait till Reeeeee notices the two giant baguette penises the artist slipped into the lesbian date.
That's pretty weird. My life is complete

Seems fine. Now I know what games to avoid.
That's why they added the tag, so buyers know which games contain heavy propaganda. SJWs celebrate, reasonable people know which games to think twice before buying. Everybody wins.Seems fine. Now I know what games to avoid.
good idea in theory but they are putting this tag on all sorts of games. look at my previous post. i'd do block the tag but it might hide a lot of titles that aren't exactly toxic.![]()
uh-oh
Why is a sexual orientation and state of identity in any way influencing what video games you purchase?Straight boy loses: nothing.
Gay folks gain: a possibility to find content they might be interested in.
Therefor: FUCK THE SJW!!!!111!!
NeoGAF.
They still curate them, no? I remember when tags first came out and people were tagging MGR with "Nanomachines" and such.Tags are user generated so this is pointless like all the others. Plenty of things are tagged with nudity that has none.
Why is a sexual orientation and state of identity in any way influencing what video games you purchase?
This is what I don't understand about any of this noise. I'm straight and I'm a man, my life doesn't revolve around either my sexual orientation or my gender.
I don't even cognitively acknowledge either throughout day to day life as I'd wager basically everyone doesn't, yet this questionable subset of people hinge their entire existence on these things..
It's nonsensical.
You say it doesn't hurt me, it doesn't hurt me this is true, but it does come into my purview more than things such as this ever should. As a straight man you don´t need tags in your life because you can safely assume that everything around you is catered towards you.
If you and your wife/GF feel like watching a romantic comedy you just pick a random Jennifer Aniston flick and you are good to go.
For a gay person things are different - only a tiny fraction of content is catered towards just them.
Therefor a Tag is really cool FOR THEM and does not hurt YOU in the slightest.
What does q+ mean?
You say it doesn't hurt me, it doesn't hurt me this is true, but it does come into my purview more than things such as this ever should.
Why do I hear about things involving sub 5% of the population nearly as much as I do relating to things centered around the other 95%? Why when I go on the internet, watch TV, or listen to the radio is a large subset of this interaction whether it be the news, gaming websites, social media or any other form of information intake frequently relating to LGBT whatever?
It's call OVER-representation and it's getting out of control.
That's like saying what is the point of the nudity tag on Steam. Not all tags are related to the style of game you are playing.
I hope @ipukespiders creates a nudity category in his Steam library as well.
No offense but your talking points are coming off about as comprehensive as being derived from a pamphlet. You've been seen, you've been seen for a very long time, I remember gay pride stuff from when I was a kid in the early 90'sthe Q stands for queer, and the + refers to Intersex, Agender, etc.
You seem to be awfully hurt over us finally being seen as actual, legitimate people rather than how religious conservatives paint us as. LGBTQ+ people are among the most persecuted and at risk groups in the world. That risk doubles if you are also a person of color. If anything we are under-represented in a positive light. I'd ask you to educate yourself on LGBTQ+ issues, but I suspect that it would be asking too much of you.
Clearly they're hammering out the important things first.Meanwhile, we still don't have a release ETA for the long overdue Steam client overhaul, right?
Now you can know if the game Is about a lgbt story
SureWhat, you mean fictional?
If anything we are under-represented in a positive light
This is already happening.Like others said, it's useful because not only you can search for games with focus on such content, you can also block them. That's what i will be doing probably since the games with this tag seem to be dating sims and other similar crap.
You know when this will become a problem? When they somehow disable the ability to block this particular tag or if this information can be used for when they want additional reasons to ban someone or if some activist/journalist can see you are blocking it so he can attack you because you are "homophobic".
It will also be an issue if they include more games in this tag that don't particularly have this as a focus but may have an LGBTQ character in them or something so pretty much all new games will have it.
In before someone conflates you as categorizing LGBTQ+ with zombies.Still don't get why this is offensive given the shit ton of random tags Steam has.
Plus you can filter them so it's a helpful thing, much like 'zombies' gets a total miss from me.
Eh, so it's useless. This is already happening.
