Completed a chapter, I say it's definitely more fun than HZD in terms of narrative. Aloy is a likeable character finally.

I am just wary of the short gameplay length.

I'm not really sure what Sony or Guerilla saw in the crossover potential of Lego Horizon Adventures. Lego and PlayStation's post-apocalyptic dino-hunting series don't seem opposing, exactly, but before sitting down to play it I didn't see any multiplicative Big Brand power in combining them either—especially when compared to Lego Harry Potter or Star Wars games.

Now that I've finished playing it, I see even less reason to justify Lego Horizon Adventures' conception. I honestly don't know why this game exists, and frankly I'm not even sure the people behind it do either

Sounds to me like they made their mind up before even playing it. Do they have kids? Did they play multiplayer co-op?

The game is actually pretty good, I'm enjoying my time with it, especially co-op with the kids (my kids are teenagers, not little kids also, and they are having fun with it)

Reviews are all over the place with this game to be honest and I expected it to be, not everyone is going to like it but I think it you are a fan of the Lego games or Horizon the you'll get something out of it.

It is short if you rush, I'm 10 hours in and just reached chapter 3. I say the length is good. It'll take around 15-20 hours to complete it with side challenges.

Showed up via GameFly yesterday and I've played the first two full levels (sacred lands and the mountain). It's pretty much what I expected out of a Lego game: Simplistic, linear, cheesy forced humor, and better in coop.

I'm enjoying it, personally, but if I had to rate it thus far, I'd give it a 7. However, I give most Lego games a 7 because they've all been reusing the same general formula since the very first release of Lego Star Wars.

What I find hilarious is that, due to the game being more silly in nature, Ashly Burch seems to slip into the Tiny Tina voice so it sounds like Tiny Tina from Borderlands cosplaying as Aloy. This is especially frequent when using environmental/explosive barrels.

The only plus I see out of the entire game is Aloy actually being likeable. Goofy, but likeable.

Well, that's that. 12 hours to complete literally everything. All trophies, all 100 gold bricks, all 16 apex machine hunts, all cosmetics unlocked (outfits, decorations, building stuff). Played entirely on Adventurer (the mid-tier, normal) difficulty.

Early on I felt it was a 7, by the end I felt it was maybe a 6, possibly even a 5, simply due to how short it is and the fact that there's just no real exploration in the levels. Everything is pretty much in your face, there's no hidden gold blocks or cosmetics to find.

I finished the main story and all apex machines around the 8 hour mark. Spent another 4 grinding expeditions to get all the characters to max level of 20.

Can't say I'd recommend it at full price. Maybe half or less, and only if you have someone to coop with.
