Lexar unveils 1TB MicroSD Express card compatible with Switch 2 for $200

I love how many times I've been able to use this.

If you're going to be adding an additional controller for the switch 2 then you should add a ps5 edge controller too. Not to mention a portal if you're looking for some sort of parity here.

Switch 2 pricing is retarded but let's not act like Sony doesn't know how to hose people too.

Why not adding Top of the line Bravia TV? I heard Sony make that too?! Lol

He was adding items that make feature parity between the two consoles, which makes Switch value proposition laughable.

Also just to add, first gen-4 SSDs were obscenely priced. These cards are going to be normal in a year or so, who cares.

PS5 Pro - 700 USD
Disc Drive Attachment - 80 USD
Concord exclusive controller - 300 USD
85" Sony Bravia 9 Mini LED TV - 4,200 USD
Malibu beachfront home - 32,500,000 USD
Total - 32,505,280 USD

Bro just cut the avocado toast and you'll be fine!

It's not the same thing. You can't take portal on a flight or a train ride and so on. One is a hybrid device and the other is a home console.

Different devices for different purposes. If you don't need portability outside the house, and don't want to play Nintendo games, get PS5, PS5 Pro or PC.

If you do need that, get the Switch or maybe Switch AND a PC or PS5/Pro.
Exactly! It's two very different feature sets that you can't really do parity.

For example, one has much better graphics, while the other offers three person local multiplayer.

You don't have to buy a 1tb card or pro controller for the Switch you know.

 :pie_roffles:  :pie_roffles:

1TB, no. But with 256gb base storage if you don't buy at least a 128gb or 256gb card ($50 and $60 respectfully), you're going to have a gimp ass system. Anyone trying to bring over their existing Switch digital library is going to suck up most of that storage space and then Switch 2 games are going to take up huge chunks of space (we know Street Fighter 6 is 50GB, as an example). Anyone buying a Switch 2 had best plan on spending another $60 on a 256GB Sandisk or Samsung card day one.

The pro controller, I agree with you about, especially since Nintendo has already confirmed that existing Switch pro controllers work just fine with the system. But expanded storage will not be optional. And there's going to be a lot of very pissed off people who buy a Switch 2, but who didn't read the small print, and discover their existing Switch microSD cards don't work with it.

PS5 Pro - 700 USD
Disc Drive Attachment - 80 USD
Total: 780 USD (2 TB of storage, highest end console in history, pound for pound better than any PC, cheaper games than Switch 2)
You forgot the stand as well, which would put your Pro at over $800, not to mention the extra charge of a PSN account so you can play with your friends.

And the bolded is hilariously disingenuous. Neither console is a "good" value.

So, let's go to the tape to review this

Switch - 450 USD
1TB MSDX - 200 USD
Pro Controller - 80 USD

Total: 730 USD (1.25TB Storage, low end console, most expensive console games in history)

PS5 Pro - 700 USD
Disc Drive Attachment - 80 USD
Total: 780 USD (2 TB of storage, highest end console in history, pound for pound better than any PC, cheaper games than Switch 2)

One device praised while the other was vilified. Yeah, we're definitely living in bizzaro world.
the big n tax

One of two things here, you absolutely don't need a stand and can actually stand the system up vertically without one if you HAD to.

You're calling out PSN and ignoring Nintedo Switch Online and having to pay even for voice chat?

What is a good value to you?

SD cards will come down eventually, so I'm not too worried. But what does concern me how they made the SD reader. On switch it was stupidly designed so it would eventually come loose off the board. A simple action like putting your switch down on the table can pop it out. And is it just me, or is the fan intake upside down on switch 2?

You need an external controller for comfortable couch gaming. Nintendo should have beefed up the grips on the joycons. I am optimistic that Switch 1 controllers are compatible with Switch 2 (since some BC games need Switch 1 joycons to be playable on Switch 2). In that case, you can get a true pro controller with hall effect joystick and trigger for 25 pounds (8 bit do or gamesir).

What makes you sat that? Switch 2 joycons haven't lost any features, or have they?

PS5 Pro can stand very firmly on its own *specially* with the disc drive attached. Also add the Nintendo online sub to be able to at least chat with your friends.

No console is a good value? What's good value to you an overpriced PC that runs 0 games without an internet connection, and runs 0 games without some degree of unavoidable and continuous hassle?

Even adding a PS Portal... which should have been the suggestion here as erroneous as it is, still makes the Switch 2 a bad buy.

You could get a PS5 standard with Astro Bot for 450 add a Portal for a total of 650 and still have significantly better graphics than the Switch 2 and cheaper games.
The PS5 slim digital astro bot bundle is $400 in Amazon right now. Cheaper than the swtich 2 and with the 2024 GOTY game.

I have the Pro standing up perfectly fine without stand without disk drive and with disk drive. Nintendo charge for voice chat. You don't pay? You can't talk with your friends.
