Nintendo Switch 2 Entries Found in Gamestop Systems - MicroSD Express Slot Confirmed

Someone needs to release an egg shaped concept of the new Nintendo NX console, only then will Nintendo panic and announce the thing to clear up any issues. This hysteria is very similar to last time, the leaks and rumours are getting way to much attention now.

Nintendo just needs to put together their corny commerical with terrible actors with an interesting catchy tune. Then just shadow drop the trailer out of nowhere.

Sd cards I'm not bothered about, great if they are fast or whatever.
I'm more dissapointed about the joy con charger.so it's basically confirmed it's going to be the same old joycons we have had for 8 years with a minor appearance change.
The switch joycon/controller is just so horrible to hold and disconnecting them still feels like the wii days.

The only thing I'm concerned about is if any of the Nintendo controllers will have analogue triggers. I mean, nobody wants to have to accelerate with the r stick in a racing game.

What do you mean about that?

I'm not really sure what Nintendo could've done differently with the design of the device if they want to keep the portability a priority.

The new ones are bigger.

At this point we are getting leaks that Switch 2 arrived at Gamestop before Nintendo announces it.

I get they want go wait for the last second, considering that Switch and especially the games are still selling well, but this is getting ridiculous.

That would be a recipe for disaster. Risk of leaks would be too big. Nintendo needs time to get the stock in stores and control the narrative.

So it's most likely going to be a short period between announcement and release? That would be fantastic, actually, and should be the norm.

I mean that it would have been nice to see something completely new and innovative.its been 8 years..
I know there is a pro gamepad which feels great and I much prefer it to the joycons.

Nintendo have played it too safe with the switch 2 (if this is all confirmed true). I see you point that portability maybe a priority but for me it's a home console that I play on a TV.

I understand that's your priority but it isn't Nintendo's and with that in mind I think the design choices makes sense. They're also coming from the most successful generation they've ever had, I think it's understandable they want to play it safe.

That's why you have to add €60 for the pro controller to get the real price of the console.
Switch 2 is gonna be more expensive than a PS5.

Well well well

Look at that

800 MB/s

That's insanely fast, almost SSD.

A year ago peoples had speculated that Samsung partnered with Nintendo for this tech and voila, today we see this
Samsung states that this product was the direct result of a collaboration with an unspecified customer:

This ain't your slow ass SD card

800 MB/s

That's more than Sata SSD on a freaking micro-SD. I had never heard of this before
What's more, from what I looked up, 800MBs is on the end, it could possibly go up to 2GB/s

it has 12GB LPDDR5 memory. 2GB most likely reserved for the OS. maybe only 1.5, depending on how many features are adding or not.
LPDDR5X

I'm guessing it's Tuesday then? Maybe we'll get an announcement for the reveal today, tomorrow or Monday?
Maybe, but they also have software releasing next week. Would be weird to schedule it the same week imo.

But who knows.

Edit:
I think the public release of Alarmo might also be next week (?).

Maybe it has release already and we don't know it!!! Check your local store. Or Nintendo is going using these leaks as free promo. Hopefully it doesn't backfire on them.

We know it has fast internal storage.

We know it has 12GB of LPDDR5X memory.

We know T239 has 1536 GPU cores and 8 A78C CPU cores with a 128bit memory bus.

On top of that, we know the power supply is capable of delivering quite a bit more power than the OG Switch, and thus we should expect some pretty good clock speeds in docked mode.

We know that Nvidia has superior Ray Tracing hardware and T239 should have as good or better Ray Tracing support compared to current gen hardware (PS5 Pro Excluded, maybe?).

We were recently informed that the DLSS implementation should not be directly compared to its cost on PC.

Its an exciting time to be a Nintendo fan. New hardware has always been exciting

My god they're using 2000s tech. They mean business

Sarcasm?

The announcement of these SD cards are not even a year old and the 256 was sometime early summer on market. 1TB was just last fall from what I gather.

Couldn't be more fresh

This is leaps more modern and faster than Steam deck/ Rog ally / rog ally X micro-SD storage on much more expensive devices

Nintendo surprises me with this, they didn't go the cheap option

No it's not . the thumbsticks are different. More like the pro controller but shorter compared to the small thin current thumbsticks.

Calm down dude, Its like you are freaking out you got a Ford Focus in a neighborhood of Ferraris and Lambos.

Calm down, 800MB/s major LOL .

100%!

Switch 2 will be like a ford focus with custom handling and brakes to make it the most fun drive it can be! even exceeding the fun of the sports cars with less raw power than them!

I am not going to be surprised if/when we will have Switch 2 game releases in stores, official Nintendo accessories, subscriptions, etc… everything but the actual console (maybe this year they launch everything but the console, games included, and they launch the console next year) :D.

A thumb size SSD you can swap basically built on V-Nand.

Very good news

Imagine if it had been micro-SD standard again and be limited to ~90MB/s?

This eliminates a lot of I/O and storage issues that plagues PC handhelds.

Is the Switch 2 going to have a stealth release in the next week?

Not sure exactly what you mean by "stealth release" but given the amount of retail leaks it would not surprise me if it's available immediately upon announcement. Which would be cool.

Makes me wonder if the release date will be very close to the announcement.

Hopefully this is just for legacy switch games and the console has faster storage options. SD cards are terribly slow nowerdays

You know how the cheapest Steam deck has SD card support but people don't bother with it and will get the NVMe Steam deck models because of how slow SD cards are (and how bad EMM storage is)?

SD express support removes that issue. The fastest consumer SD card under express only gets speeds of 30MB/s, vs SD Express which can reach 2GB/s at max but averages around 800MB/s, that's fast than SATA SSDs in the form of an SD card.

This is impressive technology and the only reason I can see anyone finding it unimpressive is because the Switch 2 is using it. It's an SD card that can get write speeds fairly close to UFS 3.1's 3GB/s.

Hopefully this is just for legacy switch games and the console has faster storage options. SD cards are terribly slow nowerdays

SD Express is much faster than SATA Solid State Drives.

This is a huge leap forward for storage in handhelds if it turns out to be true. Switch 2 looks like it's gonna be highly innovative with great technical chops too.

2 SKUs has come up as well now.
It is unknown exactly what the game SKU is, but there's a listing for a game from Take-Two.
Switch 2 GTA 5 bundle right out of the gate.
boom smile GIF

Yeah I think that's the most likely one as well
I guess it could also be Civilization, assuming the rumors of the new JoyCon acting as a mouse are true. That'd be a good showcase game.

Not sure if that's something you'd sell as a bundled title though.
