I have a gaming laptop and actually really like it, but Nvidia naming their mobile GPUs the same as their desktops is damn near false advertising and misleading consumers badly.

If anything this video shows the value of the Pro lol, even with used parts and a seemingly faster raster GPU they still had trouble with the games. Ratchet was better, TLoU seemed like a tie but had worse 1% lows, DA had worse resolution but stable framerates.
Will there be a day one of these PC centric channels do an actual fair comparison??

Also have to say that its a massively missed opportunity not to test out other upscaling tech like XeSS verses PSSR, since both beat FSR 3 in most games. And I haven't seen any big tech channels cover this yet.

I don’t like to shit on consoles on this board too much because a lot of people don’t really have a choice. Building a new PC is intimidating especially if you know next to nothing about it and are living from paycheck to paycheck. it’s easier to just buy a console and let things fall in place.

They built a $535 system with $350 of it being a 7800XT. They had more than enough money to buy a 3080, 4070, or better, which would have ended the video at like 2 or 3 minutes and completely mooted the 10 minutes of PSSR comparisons. The PC with DLSS would have won across the board on frame rate, image quality, and RT effects. The dumbest most disingenuous video they've ever done by far.

What's more, anyone considering paying $780 + tax for a Playstation has disposable income and a flexible budget within reason. There's really no need to build a used system when you can presently buy brand new pre-built 4070 systems for just over $1000, which given the long term savings on games, free online, and extra utility, absolutely comes out ahead of Pro on dollar cost and value.

Eh, I wouldn't, this place has had a bone to pick with Xbox since it's inception because it was made by Micro$oft, as the kids used to write it back in the day. I don't disagree with their current strategies and I wish they did better with the IP they own. But people and press slam them all the time and this place is a Sony echo chamber. You can't make a single Xbox thread without it getting immediately derailed with perpetual edgy drive-by shit posts.

I'm pointing out edgy drive by shit posts from Xbox fans all the time. They are outnumbered but they are here and quite loud. The PC contingent are also very vocal. This is not a Sony echo chamber.

I find that kind of funny since the same thing happens to PlayStation threads. Sure, there are more PlayStation player here but there are more PlayStation players everywhere. Some people take this shit too serious.

Have you tried adding up the costs? PC parts are more expensive in Europe just as how PS5 Pro is more expensive. I don’t think it’s possible.

In my area a PS5 Pro cost exactly $980. That’s about x1.4 above US prices.

But cheapest 4070 goes for $570. And then you need a CPU, SSD, mb, ram, PSU, fans, case for $400 total to beat the $980 Pro.

Here, those who don't have the money to buy a PS5 can build a Xeon with reused RAM that's been used for 5 years and an RX580 recycled from mining.

Everything from Aliexpress without any guarantee. Then open a video on YouTube and see the step-by-step instructions for assembling it.

Any broke idiot builds a PC to "game"

I say this because my broke and stupid friend built a PC like this because he doesn't have money for a PS5.
He is still playing to this day, even though he understands when I say that "power source watts 500w xing ling" is fake. To this day he has not understood that a Power Source weighing 150 grams cannot be 500w
