First game wasn't bad.
You definitely have not played. The skins are cheaper than what Blizzard charges. The game play is just as good if not on par with Overwatch. OW2 is an abomination of invulenerabilities, too much healing, and one less spot on a team. The 6v6 is much much better. Overwatch needs competition and this game is it. Thank god. I need both games to succeed. It's fun! Not as good as Overwatch right now, could be as they iterate in the future.
Everything hinges on how NE monetize the game, and I have little confidence in that area.

Difference being that this doesn't cost 80eu like CoD does so however this turns out... I've already gotten my money's worth (which was nothing). We’re in the honeymoon stage where everything feels new and it’s easy to overlook the game’s problems. I’ll give it another two weeks before people start finding out what’s broken and people stop playing out of frustration. Healing definitely needs to be toned down a bit. A lot of the movement abilities also feel wonky. The map design also feels uninspired and samey. We’ll see how nimble the devs are to react.
What they need to do relegate all the role queue people to a ranked mode and have them stay there and leave the rest of us alone. Injecting all this esports nonsense in the original Overwatch is basically what took the fun out of that game.
Agreed role lock creates a queue for the popular classes but it’s still better than what they are doing now.
It’s almost unplayable now.Agreed role lock creates a queue for the popular classes but it’s still better than what they are doing now.
Even having a fucking tank in a god damn FPS is enough for me to never play this.
I'd say for this kind of game you want at least three mains to focus on and then chances are good you will be able to pick one. The roster is deep and it takes some time to test characters in the practice range but its worth it.I will admit a sore spot is not being able to play who I want.
Role lock sucks and I hope they dont implement that crap here.
lol sbmm had absolutely zero to do with that games failure and role lock is an entirely different thing.I remember people saying the same thing about SBMM in XDefiant, and that game died. This game will die with the chaotic setup it has right now.
It’s funny because OW started this way and it was fine. I hated role lock. Then when they brought back the classic mode I couldn’t do it anymore. It was to chaotic and my teammates switching to much. It’s almost unplayable now.
They really need role queue for ranked though. It's going to be interesting to see how the fight over role queues plays out. I'd guess that part of the player base right now is former Overwatch players, etc. who want some semblance of a balanced objectives-based shooter, and part of the player base is people who like comics/MCU and own a game console (obviously, you can like both; I'm talking about the extremes). Whether they add a role queue is going to be a decent test on which group wins out, I think.
Ok, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it’s all good now. Have no idea what was causing the issue. But I’m thanking my lucky stars that I can play again lol
I’m very excited to see who they add next, so many possibilities. I’d like to see Thanos, Rogue, Cable, Nightcrawler, Cyclops off the top of my head, but of course many others as well.
I don't disagree. Maybe they'll do it for ranked but not quick play. I'm a little scared that they will decide that the "I love comics!" crowd will buy more skins and they'll steer the game toward them, but we'll see. They really need role queue for ranked though.
Some matches are absolutely horrible. Maybe if you play with stacks, free roles can work. But certainly not with randoms.
I love Thor.
I had a blast playing it last night. I almost couldn't stop playing it. OW2 has become so stale and this game is a breath of fresh air. I've been playing Cloak and Dagger a lot. It's a dual hero character that you can switch between freely. Their ultimate kind of sucks though. Sometimes it's just better to play Luna Snow.
They did an awesome job of picking heroes for this games. There are the very popular ones, and there is a good selection of the lesser known ones. Which I find pretty cool.
It's a free2play game. I don't see the problem.Every single skin is either Battlepass locked, which is 4.99€, or requires a huge amount of currency, which takes a long ass to gather.
The progression is still bad. If your multiplayer game has bad/unfun/ridiculously grindy progression, then players aren't going to stick around. It's a free2play game. I don't see the problem.
It begins
This is a phone game company making a game. You are not suppose to grind for currency, what you are suppose to do is to buy a few favorite skins with the few currency you get, and then pay the rest with real money. You play the game to play the game, it is not about grinding and get paid for it. Yes, there is the usual dailies and missions, but the point is that is the price for NO pay-to-win. If you want a fair competitive game where the only thing you need to pay is cosmetics, then the price is high price of these cosmetics. This is the breaks for how the economics works.I really like the game, it's fun, but the progression system is just horrible.
They really need to open things up.
Was expecting a mix of SNAP's progression system with Overwatch's crate system.

The game need to make a profit, and as someone who doesn't like free to play, I would say Marvel Rivals is using the least predatory model.
The worst is the people who keep switching. Playing last night with friend and the two randoms switched their class (and character) every time they died (which was often).Dearl Lord,
Please give me the wisdom to understand someone who looks at a 1 tank, 4 dps team and chooses dps, the courage to stay in the lobby with them, and the strength to overcome their stupidity.
Yours,
Bucky
