If there is any studio at PlayStation that will push even higher that this game, it's Naughty Dog no doubt.

This is proof that Disney/Marvel is stupid for even letting other studios touch their franchises for video games.. like what is even the point? Can any of them reach the heights that Insomniac set with the first SM game, let alone this one?

Sony should get the rights to Marvel and DC games. After seeing how good this game is, I'll like to see what Insomniac can do with Super Heros like Batman and Ironman.

I mean if they're making a new IP it's going to take a bit longer than just a sequel. Anyway now that spidey is going to come out in a few days we might have new stuff at TGA in december.

No. A small part of my post was saying they are the current GOAT of pushing technology, but the post was saying that the game industry should have a gold standard of ALL of what insomniac is doing.

Visuals
Performance
Making use of the technology to fullest
No crunch
Multiple games in small development times

ND has visuals. That’s it. They’ve fallen deep off a fucking cliff.

They need to get a blueprint for how to do all of the above and then implement it because current ND is just running around with showing a concept art for a game that is now “on ice”.

Imo Naughty Dog are the kings at pushing playstation consoles.

They did it on PS3 with the TLOU which released in 2013.
Then again with TLOU2 on PS4 in 2020.
That's a 7 year gap. So that should tell you when to expect when their next game would come out.

How is the combat much improved if i can ask? Not watching any video for spoilers.
I know about the parry but from what i saw it looks extremely similar to the first one.

It's insanely impressive but it's hyperbole to say there's ZERO loading.

The loading occurs as you hold down the button and the meter fills to confirm where you want to fast travel, and even after that there's a ~1s delay.


Again, SUPER IMPRESSIVE though.

Although i don't like Spiderman (as a hero not the game) Insomniac seem to have nailed this one, they finally get great scores across the board. Deserved to a hard working studio.

I mean in reality it comes down to the dollars. Insomniac can't do all the games and even if they could, that's a lot of centralized risk for one studio.

Ultimately, Disney wants their own game studios, which is ironic since they shuttered LucasArts.

If Wolverine is a success, Insomniac will certainly get X-Men and honestly, that's all that actually matters at this point.

Naughty Dog release Uncharted 4 in 2016 and Uncharted Lost Legacy in 2017, two great games. But they fuck up already in TLOU2 development.

Sony really need to look at Insomniac's management and try to replicate that in others big PS studios.

I can feel your pain through your monitor… Not a single game is perfect, but you can judge a game as a 10/10 because the result is greater than the sum of its parts.

A 10/10 never means a perfect game, but a game that is perfect as is. Also, if the review scales start at around 9/10 for Halo Infinite in its current form, in comparison a lot of games should get at least 10 out of 10s.

The Last of Us Part II sits at a 93 Metascore with over 10 million units sold. I don't think they need help with game development.

I agree, it would be nice if they could release games a bit more often though. Since Covid it seems almost every studio is completely paralyzed and has nothing to release anymore. Also, hiring on diversity criteria and woke doesn’t help at all.

Hope it’s just temporary and will fix itself down the road somewhere.

Not one thing is wrong with Naughty Dog.
Look at all the other PlayStation Studios development times.
We don't even know how many multiple teams Insomniac has.
