It's what I told my coworker to do since he was debating jumping on board a couple weeks ago.

Wasn't there some sort of color related thing last week? The Abominable Snowman said:Between loss of 3DS momentum (due to price cut) and some ADV game, the PSP gained about 10K?

Ten. YEAR. PLAN.Souldriver said:Still the weirdest aspect of this generation: Nintendo stomping everyone out of the gate, but the Sony platforms slowly chugging along and even reviving a bit after the Nintendo platforms have fizzled out.
The Wii climb started weeks ago due to the new WSR bundle, it's been slow but steady. Releases like Goldeneye, Inazuma Strikers and Rhythm Heaven certainly don't hurt though.Souldriver said:Makes you wonder how well the console could have done if Nintendo hadn't treated it like shit. I'm looking forward to the 3DS sales. The horrendous lows followed up by an (expected) peak will be entertaining.
Nirolak said:Actually, it's a Nintendo DS game, not a 3DS game.

It probably won't, but regardless it's nice to see a core DS game that sells to expectations nowadays.RPG_Fanatic said:Glad to see the first week sales has increased for the sequel. Hopefully DS2 will have similar legs.

Tempy said:Picked up Queen's Gate from Play-Asia. Is my purchase represented in these numbers?
duckroll said:The exact sale? Probably not, since Play-Asia (and their distributor) is not tracked by Media Create as they are not a point of sales retailer in Japan itself. But I'm sure the sentiment is represented since the sales files are estimates extrapolated from the tracked sample, so the fact that people are interested in general reflect in the sales.
Garaph is down and Japan Game Charts has died, so I think we only have the database left in the OP.Tempy said:Anyone know Queen's Blade's 1st week numbers?

I'm 99% sure sales from online retailers aren't counted/extrapolated.duckroll said:The exact sale? For example GCN Twilight Princess was estimated at 25k first week shipment from Famitsu but was given 0 sales.
Well, that seems like a bad example, since in that case there is no base they could extrapolate the number from. It was only sold at Nintendo's online store, so their usual retailer sources couldn't report anything else than 0 sales. But without reported sales the extrapolation is impossible and it would be a wild guess at best...Chris1964 said:For example GCN Twilight Princess was estimated at 25k first week shipment from Famitsu but was given 0 sales.
Nintendo gave them the shipment, it makes sense they gave them the sales too.wrowa said:Well, that seems like a bad example, since in that case there is no base they could extrapolate the number from. Why would they? Nintendo releases shipment numbers all the time, but they almost never report actual sales. Why would they make a difference for a game they didn't want to sell in stores? I don't think it's very plausible to assume that Nintendo reported the sales of TP to either MC or Enterbrain.Chris1964 said:Nintendo gave them the shipment, it makes sense they gave them the sales too.

I wasn't being serious, though I honestly did forget DQX.FINALFANTASYDOG said:No offense my friend, but you keep posting stuff that is just factually incorrect. Even basic research would remind you DQ10(or at least DQ collection is coming out) and Zelda are coming up.
As to back-wards price matching: I'm generally not aware of stores doing this too much in Japan
Yeah. It's a shame, because it seems to be pretty good. I know the art was awesome.SatelliteOfLove said:Iz niiiiiiiice, but that Nora the Witch game dropped like a rock.

Why did PS3 sell 45k this week last year? What game?
Actually, it's not that bad. There are some games that can do some nice numbers. Next week we have Epic Mickey and Family Fishing, next month we have the Sentai musou game and the DQ. There's also a Takara tomy game(so we should not consider it)Cygnus X-1 said:Wow at Rhythm Heaven. Wii does not seem completely dead now.
Schedule of Wii for next 1-2 months?

DQ is DQ. Epic Mickey have a good chance if Nintendo market it well, the sentai musou game, considering that the Kamen rider games sold really well on the wii, probably got some good chances too. Family Fishing... Probably not.
To be fair for the past year or so they've been having to develop and try to support 4 different consoles and provide content for. The Wii's first two years were astronomic levels of sales and a great output of software for the Wii(a great selling title nearly every month) and 2009-2010 saw good sales and still above the competition but not insane sales with an alright output of software(a great selling title every 2 or 3 months). 2011 is where things took a nose dive. There was The Last Story in January and I don't think a notable title was released until June with Wii play motion plus(which has bombed).Souldriver said:Makes you wonder how well the console could have done if Nintendo hadn't treated it like shit. If you like archiving those, this other site has top 10 for systems and top 10 used sales, but with Media Create data. Also numberless.BKK said:Maybe this has been posted before and I missed it, but I just noticed that Yahoo now gives Famitsu Weekly Top10s per platform, no numbers though.

I don't think they keep an archive though, so they'll get lost each week unless anyone saves them.

The thing is that they're really overstocked. The first couple of weeks after the price cut will be a worldwide clearance sale.BladeoftheImmortal said:why would retailers mark them down when they bought them for a higher price already?
