Oddly enough I've been the guy talking poor of amcrew but after looking for a really light hold styling option and trying b&b semisumo I found amcrew forming cream to be the best option for me.

It's really nice, gives you just a touch of hold without being sticky or hard to remove and gives your hair just a slightly enhanced look and shine.

About 75% of the time I have bad hair days. It all comes down to the amount of hair product I use. If I use too much it weighs my hair down and makes it look greasy. If I use too little it makes it fluffy with no desired shape.

I just tried some yesterday since my hair was being too poofy now that it's longer. Immediately regretted it, so damn sticky.

Been finding that I can't get height on my hair in the morning. It's flat if I don't use a hairdryer, but if I do, it's way too fluffy.

Whereas if I put some product in it then let it dry naturally, i get a lot more height when I play with it.

be prepared for it to be a pain in the ass to manage. My hair is wavy when it's your length, but goes full on cuntcurls when it's long. sitting at about 14 inches long after a year. There was a point in May when i had to wear a hairband or beanie to keep it out of my face when running or playing football. Now it's long enough to be tied back and tucked behind my ears.

Go for it though.

Hair has more elasticity when it's wet, so when you're in the shower use a shit ton of conditioner and gently comb out the knots with either your fingers (God's comb) or a large toothed comb (the ones with the really large teeth, not the larger end of a regular comb). Do not do it dry because your hair will break, and do not use a small toothed comb or brush, as those will break the hair as well. Wet, lots of conditioner, and your fingers work best. I usually bend over and hang my head as upside down as possible and gently comb from my neck down to the top of my head, and from my forehead to my crown.

Look for a tangle teeser brush. If you dont want your hair tangled in the morning then you need to tie it up with somethi g lets say a bandana perhaps. And no wet hair on the bed

My hair gets wavy and it's kind of a pain. I had it really long and messy for a while and finally got it cut. It ended up being a lot shorter than I wanted it to on the top, but oh well. I think I'm going to try going nopoo since it's so short.

It looks like you might have a slight receding hairline, but it also might be the angles. Either way, looks awesome and you should def grow it out again. Mine is nowhere near that long, unfortunately. Plus, it's really curly, so it looks a hell of a lot shorter than it actually is, 5½, but looks two or three inches.

Here's my current haircut. I've somehow wrangled my hair to stay in place without any product for the moment... that doesn't really happen as it gets pretty wavy in the front.

I asked for pretty short sides and to keep a good amount on the top (my hair was pretty long when I went in to get it cut). I almost kinda wanted a bit more on top, but I'm happy with the sides, I think. Are they too short for how much is on top, as in they make it look like a doofy haircut? Should I stop skirting around it and just ask for an undercut the next time, or does this work better for me? I'm wondering maybe if I grow it out I could get it cut to do a Matt Smith/11th Doctor kind of thing, maybe.

Anyway, opinions?

Still, I can't help but miss my hair a bit, and some people have been asking me why I buzzed my head, that it looked great before (gee, thanks). I'm pretty content trimming my hair down like this, but since my hair will eventually be gone for good, I'm having second thoughts about the trimming. Maybe I should try to rock what I have left while I can? What do you think, GAF – keep trimming the hair or grow it out a bit again?

You might be in the awkward stage. There's always an awkward stage when growing your hair out that you're just going to have to sit through and deal with, and by shaving the back you may be in a perpetual awkward stage. Mine is more or less the same way, or rather, was, but now that I'm hitting six inches without even a single hair being cut it's not bad at all. I really can give you specific styles, as I generally throw a skully on shortly after getting out of the shower, or I just let it air dry as is and dries into a neat curly fro.

So something came over me today and I opted to get an undercut. My stylist told me that, since I have thick wavy hair, that I should apply styling spray and styling cream, followed by a blow dry, followed by pomade in order to get a straightened look to my hair. Can you guys recommend any products for me to use? I'm currently using American Crew pomade but I'm not familiar with good brands of styling spray and styling cream.

Argh, hair is firmly entrenched in the awkward stage at the moment. Figure I got about five more months before it'll actually look decent again. I am using the forming cream again though, I just put it in after towel drying and smooth it back with my fingers. Have you ever tried propecia or rogaine? I have some slight temple recession but my hair is thick so with my hairstyle you can't see it at all.

Im debating on ordering some generic finasteride online because 90% of the men in my family are bald, but at the same time my hairline is better than theirs were at my age.

All the positive propecia stories all include the fact that the person using it wished they started younger and maybe they could've regrown some hair and kept most of it. Already have Regenepure DR shampoo that has that ketoconazole in it and plus I like the other ingredients as well. Any propecia users care to chime in? I feel like if I would be a good responder, then I could keep my nice hair for awhile.

Yeah thats what Im thinking. Only problem is Im at the point where its hard to tell if the receding is just from a normal receding hairline (aka mature hairline), or early stages of MPB. I'm slightly under a NW2 (probably NW1.5) so I could possibly save and keep a full head of hair for a long time if it all works out, maybe even make it more thick than it already is.

I've shaved my head fully before so its not like I'm afraid of going down that route, but I have really nice hair so my logic is to try and keep it for as long as possible, or at least give it a good shot. Propecia is pretty cheap though, I saw an online pharmacy selling the 5mg x 30 tabs for $57, split into 4 thats almost half a years worth of daily doses. But if you don't really care either way more power to ya, thats less money to spend and less worry down the road tbh.
