S&S caught a lot of flack for agreeing to publish this in the first place. Apparently at least one other major author was threatening to cancel their publishing deals and take their work to a rival like Harper Collins or Hachette.
This also probably means he has to pay back the advance he received from S&S. Not sure how much it was, but it was probably pretty hefty. Like six figures hefty.

Reading his comments now it really does seem like he was warped by someone molesting him at a young age. The real question isnt just his beliefs but has he himself been involved in molesting young boys the same way it happened to him and was normalized for him.
