I meant that in the sense that I don't know what to be excited about because I don't see their features translating into interesting weapons. I have to agree with you on the likelyhood they're better than World's since I found weapon design in that game to be below average for the series.Isn’t that a good thing? I don’t know what armor set or weapon I’m gonna get from the new monsters but I’m excited to find out, I mean thats part of the fun hunting new monsters….at least for me.
I’m 100% sure weapon designs is gonna be 1000 x better than what we got from World.
We already saw rompopolo having doctor weapons like the lance being a syringe, i think they are gonna make very strange looking weapons instead of just having piece of monsters attached to the main weapon body.I meant that in the sense that I don't know what to be excited about because I don't see their features translating into interesting weapons. World went too far to make the weapons look “believable” instead of having fun designs like pervious MH games.I

I don't think the bolded was the reason, it was just lazy dev works, imagine how easy is for devs to just apply some monster material into a pre-existent weapon model instead of making interesting design for all the weapons and monsters, with world they introduced a shitload of new things and it was their first big home console mh game so they get a pass, many weapons still had great designs, just not all of them.World went too far to make the weapons look “believable” instead of having fun designs like pervious MH games.

Sound like bullshit of the highest order, no fucking work went into picking the base metal weapon and attaching a random piece of monster and call the day, and if that needed "a lot of work" to be done, they should fire whoever was doing it, they knew fans didn't wanted that, they are not so clueless, and that doesn't even explain why some weapons are like that but many other have great designs...i vividly remember rurikhan checking every gunlance and being mad that his weapons looked like shit where stuff like hammers and others had almost always great designs.I very vaguely remember this reason being given by a dev when asked to explain this for world in one of their directs. They wanted the player to be able to see how a weapon got from the start to the end of its tree visually, and also how those weapons are shared across trees or something, like having a common ancestor.
He said alot of work went into it, but unfortunately the players didn't like it.
Japanese devs can lie like any other dev, they are not saints or angels.
I bet danjin left testicle that if you ask them, wilds has the best possible graphic\performances on new consoles and it was not umanly possible to do better.
worst than DAV.... not enough diverse characters i guess

But in that quest to make Monster Hunter more approachable, Wilds has carved a little too close to the bone in some places, trimming its challenge back so much that I barely needed to dig into its in-depth equipment system at all this time to become an apex predator.
Your wrong, this means Ill probably actually play it.Some of you guys shitting on the IGN review, but that "lack of challenge" is a real concern, especially coming from IGN. If this is true, then I am so fucking disappointed.
MH has always been fun and challenging. I can't stand when devs fall for the mainstream bullshit and cater to a more casual audience.
Dragons Dogma 2 was the same nonsense with its combat difficulty.
Good to point out this is a PC review
have an RTX 3090, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 32GB of RAM, and managed to achieve a somewhat steady 60fps with DLSS on "performance" and everything else set to "high." It's playable, despite the occasional dip, but anything higher than that was too erratic, and the visual fidelity still left me wanting for such a demanding game.
I'm happy to see reviewers taking points for bad optimization
oof, that was the last thing I wanted to read.... I already thought world`s base game was way too easy bordering on boring, that also just got interesting with Iceborn imho.in that quest to make Monster Hunter more approachable, Wilds has carved a little too close to the bone in some places, trimming its challenge back so much that I barely needed to dig into its in-depth equipment system at all this time
Fuck IGN o that reviewI'm happy to see reviewers taking points for bad optimization

"Monster Hunter Wilds will eventually be an incredible game. At launch, it’s too damned easy. Any longtime fan of the series knows the basic loop. Go out and hunt progressively difficult monsters to collect pieces of them with which you craft gear. The gameplay, graphics, and overall scope of Monster Hunter have never been better. Lost in a movement towards a wider audience is the game’s heart. The progression in Wilds is so damned easy that in over 50 hours of playing I never once failed a hunt while solo. I still had a lot of fun, and I think they can fix it."
Don't they usually adjust balance/difficulty based on feedback? May be we just need to a wait a bit. I'm sure some optimizations are on the cards as well post-launch.Some of you guys shitting on the IGN review, but that "lack of challenge" is a real concern, especially coming from IGN. Sounds like they wanted to be frustrated.Yeah, they say it's too dumbed down and easy.
Git bad.
That’s the norm these days.Jesus Christ. I must be way out of touch. I looked at the OP, and I didn’t recognize a single one of the review sites.
Let me guess, you also want easy modes in From Games.......Making something that anyone with a life can enjoy is a good thing. Idk wtf IGN is smoking.
