After more than half an hour and after restarting the game several times I managed to load one of the activities and another from the Barcelona Experience in XSX (free flight and others do not load).
The first impressions are not good at all. I hope it is a launch issue because it is light years away from the optimization and visual consistency of FS2020 on the console.
Much improved details and more ambition are appreciated, but the IQ is much worse (FSR signals), the shading is broken. And then there is the fact that the loading of detail via streaming certainly does not work like the real download or world updates. The streamed details show popping when in FS2020 everything was almost perfect.
I cross my fingers that it is a launch issue, but if so I would have preferred a later release on console until things were much better finished.

Alt+f4'ed and restarted the game. Now it's back to 6% loading language. Fuck this shit. I'll go play something else.

i got the crew island whatever it's called game for my ps 5 pro. Physical was on sale for 20... imma play that instead.
fuck can't believe an ubisoft game is less buggy.
For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal.

Went to check out my house (as you do) and I was sad to learn someone had grown a large tree right through it.
Tried to run frame gen with DLSS and the image was very unstable and when I turned it off it seemed like performance was about the same. It probably needs a few updates.

The download was over in the blink of an eye. But now sort of very slowly getting there.. I guess I have plenty time to unpack my big pile of gear while waiting

I made the same mistake. Was flying over the French country side in the summer sunset, pure bliss and then I go and restart it and now I'm not getting in.
Pretty awful launch, but either way this was really cool for the short while I tried it and I'm excited to get into it more when the server issues are fixed.

Microsoft suck, they really do. Not only do they continually break Windows 11 with buggy cumulative updates but they can't even do a game launch right. And the less said about the Xbox the better!
The game is available on Steam but like the MS Flight Simulator 2020 it can only be updated from the Microsoft servers after launching the game, not in the background while you play another game or do something else on your PC. I kid you not but the majority of my so-called "playime" on the MS Flight Sim 2020 is waiting for the updates to complete. The new game is predictably being review bombed on Steam.
I think I will be avoiding this game for the time being.
