Now that we have the PS5 Pro in hand, what's your thoughts?

For the most part, I bought the PS5 Pro in anticipation for the next four years of AAA releases, but honestly, I'm impressed by how much it improves currently released titles. From the build-quality of the hardware to the gorgeous UI to the graphical upgrade, everything about it feels luxurious.

Played Demon Soulls and Ratchet last night and i honestly cant tell the difference between Pro and 1440p modes. Also, the fidelity modes already run close to 60 fps in TLOU1, TLOU2, Spiderman 2, and Ratchet so it makes no sense to use the Pro modes. Especially in insomniac games which dont feature all the RT effects.

I think Demon Souls' 1440p mode needs to be studied on how to get 1440p to look good. TLOU1 and TLOU2 dont look as sharp as they do in the PSSR modes. So they do get an upgrade in image quality there but i still think fidelity looks better.

I think the problem here is that all of these games already had great image quality so the PSSR upgrade isnt exactly eye opening. I do like the RT shadows in Spiderman 2 and i wish Sony studios had focused on making games look prettier on the Pro instead of just adding PSSR to their already great looking 60 fps modes and calling it a day.

PSSR also has some extra shimmering in TLOU1 and Spiderman 2, but its fine in Demon Souls and Ratchet.

Overall, im not seeing a $700 difference here. i got it to try it out and return it within the 14 day period but i might not even keep it for a week.

P.S Fuck the download issues. It's been a mess trying to download games. I cant believe its a known issue and Sony hasnt even talked about it.

Wow. That's beautiful. Toys for the boys dream. Hehe! Is that Sony or Samsung or LG? I'm sure you will really see the capabilities of Ps5 pro with that kind of TV. Ps5 pro capabilities will really show up on big 4k Tv preferably with AI upscaling.

Who do I have to pretend to love to live like this?

I feel like there's a slight input lag compared to base ps5, anyone else?
Kutaragi's talked about the future of gaming being real-time.
IIRC, input latency on PS consoles has progressively gotten worse post-PS2.
We should be getting console specs listing base console input latency.
On top of that we should be getting max input latency specs for each game.
The reality is that when input latency is non-existent gameplay becomes more fun across the board.

As someone who used to play a ton of Playstation during the PS4 era, then dropping that again for PC and Switch, it feels good to be back.

I'm loving the PS5 Pro. It looks a lot better than the base model, it's quiet, installing the disc drive was easy and playing games just works flawlessly.

And call me silly or crazy, but coming from PC gaming, being able to just put in a game and friggin play it. Without troubleshooting, without using guides, without reinstalling, without crashes, without extra launchers and pop-ups.

It's incredible to me.

So far so good. Much quieter and lighter than I expected. I have yet to see any notable differences from ps5 amateur but disc drive is still MIA and thus my copy of ff7 rebirth is also notable to get a go on the pro

Yeah, mostly no big deal in the few games I've tested but I don't regret the purchase. Handing my reg PS5 down to one of my kids.

Amen on the download issues. I had to restart all downloads at least once.

Friends, has anyone got any info on when the official covers will be available for the pro?

All of my AV equipment is black and I’m not OCD but putting the white pro in there is giving me the jitters.
