We got over it. Problem is, so did everyone else.
Ooooh, Red Robin. Chocolate Milk Shakes for your dinner drink. Sometimes I'm glad there's not one anywhere near me. Have enough trouble trying to keep my weight under control! lol
Gracias!
The wii is nothing like a normal cycle, it went from being the most dominating console ever early on and ended up only selling just 10% more then other consoles be the end of the gen, no console has dominated that bad with so little third party support, and no console sold over 100 million had its successor be irrelevant, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

There's one 5 mins from my work. That uberburger with Candied bacon is glorious.
What did people expected, the console to stay putting those crazy numbers for a decade?
Yes, we know that the Wii sales dropped like a rock, that motion gaming boom is no more. But it's getting tiresome to read the same old arguments trying to discredit the console every sales related thread.
You don't like the Wii because A, B or C? OK, fair enough, but at the end of the day it sold 100+ million , it's the 3rd best selling home console and that was achieved because people the wanted the damn thing.
Edit:
By the way, at this point, I'm looking at 89K for Wii U (PS4 and XB1 were down YOY according to the VB article; not Wii U) and 120K for 3DS (that's what I get with a 24% YTD YOY increase).
Listen to this person. They speak TRUTH.
Candied bacon. 'Merica and proud of it! lol
I usually don't post in these threads, but I just want to say that it makes me sad that MGSV didn't come out on top this month, and that wholly original games like Destiny and Mario Maker were beaten by not just NBA's launch month, but Madden and FIFA as well. I mean, I totally understand, I just wish original content were valued more.
This all started because people referred to it as a "fad". I don't think anyone's disagreeing that the Wii sold a shit ton. It did. But even I would refer to it as a "fad" given how it started off, how it peaked and how it's sales dropped off and the mind share of the system completely evaporated.
It has nothing to do with discrediting the system.
according to this there were over 1,000 games on the wii. out of the 900m+ units in software on the wii, approximately 500m of sales came from third-party games that's as much software as the game boy or nes sold over a ten year span. pretty sure third-party support wasn't an issue on the wii.
Seem legit.NO.
And you can use the Quarter report thread for the WW sales.
oh come one.. you can't be serious.
the top 10 or 20 Wii games sold are almost exclusively Nintendo games safe for 1-2 Ubisoft games.
The Wii had a huge 3rd party problem. it was almost exclusively shovel ware and that's part of it's legacy.
So much sugar, yet so little sugar
So MGSV at least outsold MGS4 right? Has Madden always been this strong in its second month?
NHL sold better on Xbox One?!?
Has it ever?Like i said, i think Mario Kart 8 worldwide should end at 8,000,000. (ship+digital)
How much do you think will sell Gran Turismo, 10 million? Yeah, should happen, but will be close imo.
That said, we are in a NPD thread, and we talk about USA sales. In the US, Mario Kart will beat Gran Turismo.
Lol that's nothing. Ever heard of Thurman's Cafe?
See, my plan worked. We got our minds out of the "you know what" and we're now onto pies! Here's another one!Stop with those pie photo. :Q_
i'm just upset that it killed gaming forever and i had to stop playing video games because of it like i said i would
No. *Looks it up on Google* Oh, my.
the most popular platforms regularly get shovelware because it's a sign that it's an active audience that is inclined to buy a lot of stuff. this applies to pretty much every major platform in the past including the game boys, ds, nes, psx, ps2, and mobile.
Yeah a dead quarter report topic as opposed to monthly NPD topics that are active. You don't like worldwide talk then ignore it...
Has it ever?
On subject of GT, it'll probably do more around 12-14 million WW. GT5 was ballyhooed by a long dev time and the weakness of the PS3. GT6 was lost in the shuffle. Sony's going to market the hell out of GT7 and push to get it to a return of form, so it should do atleast slightly better than GT 5 and definitely much better than 6.

that argument doesn't cut it when the Wii 3rd party was almost exclusively shovel ware unlike the PSX or PS2.
To say that the Wii had any meaningful, good 3rd party support (outside of a few Ubisoft titles worth mentioning ) is rewriting history.
Since this is becomed a food thread, who like Pizza?
Until NPD starts accounting for digital software sales I don't see any reason to compare software sales to last year at all, let alone last gen
I'll never understanding why some get bothered when WW sales are brought up. Yeah it's an NPD thread but it's still a sales thread. It's pretty hard not to bring up total sales.

the third-party games that sold the best were generally music games like just dance and guitar hero, platformers like sonic and mickey, or sports and fitness games like tiger woods and the zumba titles. licensed games like lego and star wars also did pretty well on the machine. and of course the third-party games that were multiplatform generally did worse than the other two platforms, but would sell hundreds of thousands or even over a million units.
if you're talking about the kinds of games that were well-crafted and fun to play, there was a lot of variation, especially within genres that didn't get a whole lot of play on other platforms, especially platformers, puzzle games, and light gun shooters. if you missed out on those and others, it's not really the fault of the publishers.
I think the question is more who doesn't like Pizza? Heathens that's who...
No, it's not the same at all. If you actually believe the Wii U has the same third party support as the Wii did, you haven't been paying any attention.

But do we lump those that eat pizza with forks with the heathens, or do we make a separate group?
