Ori and the Blind Forest - March 11 (XB1/Steam; $19.99), new gameplay footage

Any idea on the minimum requirements? I'm running a fairly old computer by now but this was Day 1 for me since the announcement.

You were just WAITING for that 50th post so you could be at the top of the next page weren't you?

I'm kidding. I would hazard a guess, since I'm not a PC guy, that the requirements will be similar to but slightly above Strider due to the particle effects in this one. Just seems like it's got more 'going on' than Strider did. But I can't imagine they'll be super high.

cant wait looks fing gorgeous, and that 60fps trailer on steam

Can someone please tell me what button to press to pick up objects? The game really didn't make it clear.

I sooooo can't wait to read all the reviews here on GAF - I hope some of you can just keep a sorta 'diary' up and leave feedback as you're playing the game! We've put soooo much of ourselves into it and we've been playtesting like crazy for the last 2 weeks, just to find every last nook and cranny that's not perfect yet.

Can't tell you guys how excited I'll be following GAF when Ori releases :) :) :)

It's one of those games I've had in the back of my mind since it was first shown off. I'll probably grab it on Steam and give it a try. :)

Damn, this game looks nice. Giving me Child of Light feels. Checked out the gravity and the bash mechanics, and I think I'm sold. Don't have an Xbox One, so will have to be on Steam.

For people that had concerns about performance, etc.: We've been playtesting Ori heavily on X1s now and the game is buttery smooth @1080, 60fps. Playing on the PC and Xbox One is the exact same experience :)

Hmm... looks like it doesn't work for OSX (macbook). I wonder if it'll work via parallels virtual machine (windows 7)?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out if my PC can run this game. I have a Radeon HD 6520 and the specs say that they support a 6570 - does that mean that the game won't run smoothly for me? I've never been able to figure out GPUs and how the numbers work. Should I wait for the 360 version? (I really hope not, I'm dying to play this)

I've been playing through it on my Macbook Air through Steams In-Home Streaming if that helps at all :)

The problem is I don't have a PC to stream it lol. But my macbook pro is decent, so I might be able to run it via virtual machine (or boot camp). Here are the specs, what do you reckon?

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 16 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
VRAM (Total): 2048 MB

this is gonna be a wait for a steam sale game for me. looks a lot like other "2d with a gimmick" type games that litter the steam landscape.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, I loved Dust an Elysian tale (and this gives me those vibes) but id buy this day one I I knew 100% it wasn't coming to GwG at some stage.

Hopefully the resolution and frame rates are unlocked so we can go well above 1080p and 60 FPS.

Can't remember whether I have asked this before.

Yeah, it was confirmed earlier in thread that the game has an unlocked frame rate for pc. I'm hoping for additional graphical settings that are included that can be adjusted but if not, no big deal.

We haven't ever even been approached about that, so I'd say you'd probably have to wait for a long time to play it, then.

@Grief.exe: Yup, we have no arbitrary limitations on Framerate and Resolution, so if your PC is powerful enough, go crazy with it.

That being said, I do sometimes see how people seem to think that simply because a game is 2d, it doesn't use a lot of your computers power. We're actually running a lot of screen effects on top of the image to create that 'Ori' look - there's tons of post processing layers that are affecting every pixel on screen, so if you go with a really high resolution, you will need a powerful PC.

That being said, Nvidia showed a 4k version of Ori a couple of months ago at one of their events. It's possible, but don't think that you'll run Ori @4k on your old Intel GPU ;)

Now that the store page is up and the game is mere days away from releasing, can you say whether or not Steam cards are on the, uh, metaphorical cards? Disappointingly, but not unexpectedly (since this isn't the first time I've asked this question), card support isn't listed as a feature on the store page. The game is too visually stunning not to use as the basis for profile backgrounds.

Edit: Guess not, but it's hardly a deal-breaker. I'll stop bringing the matter up now. ;)

I'm more worried about if my middle-end laptop would be able to run this.
