What’s hilarious is that as of a few days ago, DeepSeek still thought it was ChatGPT when asked (because that was what was used to train it).

It literally stands on the shoulders of giants.

This thing is gonna DeepSeek a -100 on your social credit score.

On the one hand, I'm happy for innovation and chaos this will cause.
On the other hand, it is a Chinese AI.

Obvious joke, but I'm more scared at the pace AI has been introduced lately. I know we'll fuck up somewhere. But let's leave the future to the future.

Reactionary response. Its a preliminary shock that'll calm down. They're reading too much into it, yet.

Its nothing new for China to exaggerate their advancements.

That is indeed hilarious if true.

Even more so if there was a buy nvidia day this would be it. We need more power, more compute power.

Today: Oh no, this AI that came out of nowhere needs less compute power…I guess we don’t need NVidia anymore. Um ok..

I totally trust what the CCP says regarding how much it cost and how capable it is and how open source and trustworthy they are.

ps. I bought more nVidia today.

Cracks me up that people have more concerns about China than 2025 America.

I, for one, welcome our new Chinese overlords... Good to see a shakeup in the market, hopefully this (to bring it on topic) speeds up the advances that help game devs produce better games.

Deepseek produces answers slower than Llama and isn't shockingly better. If the markets are freaking out, it either shows they are clueless or are freaking out that China managed to get so much top end nvidia hardware.

Only Nvidia and big companies who invested a shit ton in training for big models like MS/Open AI, Meta, Google may be affected, particularly in their stocks.

But for everybody else who uses AI this is great news: faster, cheaper, more powerful and more importantly open source.

And this thing was just a side project

wtf, side project? xDD

What would be the reason for that, can you share?

Only thing I know is this shit is everywhere and keeps expanding like a plague, idk if want to live in a world where AI is everywhere and dictate so much of the mundane tasks of every human out there
I honestly don't remember the answer because it was so over my head that I didn't understand what he was really trying to say.

It won't exactly tell me about Tianamen Square or acknowledge Taiwan as an independent country but I simply love how OpenAl lost it's job to the Al before I lost my job to the Al.
