When price checking, also make sure that you're not getting bamboozled. Some bots are listing high price items for low to make people undervalue their stuff.

I'm just lvl 77, going through tier V maps, but this is what I learned:
  • Do the 'complete tier x 10x' quests, as they will give you 2 points to spend on 'atlas skills' per quest.
  • Starting out, it's best to invest in atlas skill nodes that give more and higher tier waypoints.
  • Upgrade waypoints using your transmut/augment/regal orbs. Upgrading greatly increases the chance of more waypoint drops.
  • Combine 3 of the same tier/quality waypoint at reforging bench to create 1 higher tier waypoint.
  • Normal nodes (kill x amount of rare elites) without any icons = use simple/low tier waypoints to progress to towers and nodes with bosses or events, in general you can TP once you've completed a map (no need to fully clear).
  • Use rare waypoints on bosses to maximize drops.
  • Use tablet precursors, which can also be upgraded with transmut/augment, on towers once you cleared them. This will 'irradiate' nodes in the area, which levels up the mobs.
  • Use crappy waypoints on towers and I'd suggest moving to the exit (stairs) asap, which is usually on the north-east side, towers are not worth clearing.
  • Some of the events:
    • Ritual: 3 rituals on the map, kill x amount of mobs within a small area, sometimes with stuff like blood waves and tornado's hindering you. You gain points by completing that you can directly spend on the altar for favours (items/gear).
    • Delirium: go through the delirium mirror (there usually should be one not too far from the entry portal) and kill as many mobs asap, within the delirium zone. You gain 'delirium levels' (shown bottom left) as you kill delirium mobs (sunken/cthulhu-ish) and grab mirror shards, which extend the delirium timer. Based on your performance you gain 'distilled emotions'. Specific combinations of distilled emotions can be used to copy a big (notable) passive skill node (HUGE) to use on an amulet (shift click in the passive skill tree on a big node to see what distilled emotions are needed). Distilled emotions can also be used on waypoints (right click on the distilled emotion), which will give extra mods and make the delirium zone last longer, basically giving you a higher chance for more distilled emotion drops.
    • Breach: somewhat similar to delirium, but more hardcore. You need to go all out and clear as many mobs as possible, which again, extends the timer, which is tighter than delirium. Rewards catalysts used to upgrade amulets & rings and breach splinters, which you need to collect to fight a special boss at a realmgate.
    • Expedition: place explosives at the markers and kill the packs. Rewards: currency to buy gear at the NPC (once discovered they will appear in your or guild hideout). Tip, if you're unable to reach a certain artifact/dig marker, try linking the explosives so they trigger each other (it's not bugged).
Thanks a ton for typing this out. This is super helpful!

About endgame, what brings you loot (hence waystones) are bosses and rares, so you want to maximize them: get +1s on bosses and waystones/towers with bonus like that:

ufJSQQR.png

+80% waystones drop chance, at first look not a good one, but 56% increased rares is HUGE, I'll upgrade this one with a regal orb and even at 80% I think of using it on a +2 tile.

I don't really care about elemental stuff.

Yeah I have to work on chaos, but it ain't cheap... :messenger_weary:

2 types of Precursor Tablets:
  • Normal Precursor Tablet (adds +1 level to maps)
OgztZCE.png

  • Ritual Precursor Tablet (adds Rituals to maps)

edit: OK I figured where I need to go for The Pinnacle of Flame quest (you can see towers pretty far in the fog), it ain't that far, need to do some rituals to set those towers up:

Damn, it's a long one:

Yeah no hurry! :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I won't focus on it right now, still keeping the flow of waystones coming, I'll try to get more levels in the area, it's a pretty low place atm.

Had a pretty cool trading experience last night. I usually just dump all my unneeded rares in a public stash tab for 1 exalted. I did that after running a map last night and immediately my chat started getting blown up by people for a mace. I checked its stats, and it had +6 to all melee skills and 66 life on kill. I bumped it up to 10 exalted and still had a nonstop stream of requests coming in. Did some research on the trade site and ended up pricing it at 30 exalted, at which point requests slowed down but still came in, so I ended up selling it at that price. I'm curious if I could have held out for a divine, but there were similar but clearly better weapons going for a divine that hadn't sold in a few days, so probably not.

EDIT: Also tried selling some normal rarity rings. Sold a handful of Sapphire rings for 3 exalted apiece.

I've got a ring that has 3 mana per enemy killed, worth much?

I'm going to assume possibly not. The reason 2% on kill is so strong is that a lot of endgame spellcasters have mana pools in the thousands, so 2% of 1000 is 10, and 2% of 5000 is 50. I think the only other options for mana on kill are rings, gloves, and weapons, so having it on jewels is strong.

Jewels in general seem very strong. A lot of utility for just one passive spot.

Johnathon Rogers is a scum bag fucking bitch. Chris Wilson needs to fire him and any retard in charge of the 4th trial.

I make it to the boss. 6,000 honor. Ready to fuck. get him to half health... and he has an ability that will one shot you NO MATTER WHAT, it is literally a played out cut scene, and BOOM you die.

Why? WHy would you spit on the player trying for 2 hours to get to this point to flush down all their progress over a dog shit mechanic like that?

It slows you down to like 2% movement speed, and i was staying ahead of it, and the other shit trying to kill me, and it still caught me.

This was the last straw. This EA is a fucking dog shit experience, and D4 is a better game. Fuck this kind of design.

Dude!
I am enjoying the ever living fuck out of this game.
This is what I was hoping Diablo 4 would have been... the dodge mechanic is cherry on top of the this jewel. Diablo 4 can attach it's proverbial lips to my ass, for the eternal kiss.
I know what I am going to be doing all night, tonight. It looks good, and is surprisingly stable, even during a test stream at 1080p/60fps.

Chill bro, the game could be better sure but lets not exaggerate here.
Nah. There's too much to type up of how bad this game is in its current state compared to PoE1, D4, or even Last Epoch.

All they've managed to complete in these years is Act 1-3 (what the game should be like).

I'm seeing myself out of the thread so I don't fuck it up for others. Enjoy. I'm going to go focus on Witcher 3 playthrough.

No need to bro, I'm not playing the game anymore but still enjoy the banter.

It's just 3rd week of EA, I'm sure they'll improve the game a lot on the upcoming months.

I tend to have the policy if a game has nothing but bad things for me to talk about then I should not go into that OT thread. I personally hate it on here when someone isn't playing the game anymore, or is just actively pooping on it so others can't enjoy and gush about the fun. So I try to hold myself to that as much as possible.

I'll likely come back after a few major patches and huntress comes out or shadow. Druid is likely a year away.

I'll write up a more formal big overall review of EA later when I'm cooled off. :)

I respect that. Imo bad opinions are just as fine as good ones tho, I wouldn't think you are trying to ruin the fun of anyone because of your complaints, not at all.

Hell, if there's anything we have to do right now is complaint! Game's on "early early-access", bet the devs appreciate all the feedback they can get.

I'll likely come back after a few major patches and huntress comes out or shadow. Druid is likely a year away.
I'll probably do the same! Game is super good imo, my only complaint is that the endgame is a bit barebones, or not engaging enough. If they fix that I'm sure I'll put a few more hundreds of hours here.

I'll write up a more formal big overall review of EA later when I'm cooled off. :)
I really hope so because it'd be sad to lose a PoE veteran's input on PoE2, I value your takes.

Sorry to hear that your experience isn't going that well :(

Feedback is feedback though, and for what it's worth I do find yours particularly interesting because you were really looking forward to this game.

Shoved a load more gems, runes and things in the stash. Thanks to whoever has been putting maps in the guild stash <3 I've used a few now and hope to be able to repay the kindness once/if I get rolling. It's just not dropping many waystones for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm half way through the tier 5s quest and have what seem to be the right unlocks. Doryani could do with automatically selling the tiers below active quest level so it becomes impossible to really fall off completely but at least takes some effort/crafting/resources. Just having 1 tier 1 there is a bit crap.

Got a fair few higher (gold) value items dumped but don't fancy being a trader seller so not sure what to do with it all - don't really need the gold and some of it might be decent.

edit: This build looks pretty cheap and effective too

Loving the videos you keep posting, good info and some decent content creators for once. Not had loads of free time but switched over to this today to give it a go. Nowhere near as effective as he is with it, but it's way better than what I've been doing myself and taught me a few more things about the game. Should be pretty easy to tune things up when I can just go trade for better/more suitable things rather than using what I already had.

Deffo going to do Witch next as that minion army you show up with in the guild hideout is 🔥 (or, well, 🧊 :D)

I feel PoE 2, even in it's current EA state is kind of the epitome of the genre. That said, there's definitely room for improvement.
Speaking from a 78 titan warrior going through tier VII+ maps:

Some warrior specific issues:
  • Current targeting prio is BS, let me attack the mob I'm actually targeting! Whatever I'm pointing should have prio. It's especially aggravating trying to use boneshatter on primed for stun enemies in the heat of combat, being swarmed by packs upon packs, but my character just targets whatever, totally breaking my gameplan and risking my life. I feel it also goes against the WASD + the more action oriented design principle.
  • Warrior relies on skills that cover a lot of ground, yet these little piles of rubble that blend in the terrain will stop me dead in my tracks while leaping, which feels terrible.
  • Stampeding into a mob that just blocks you, making you stampede into some random direction shouldn't be a thing.
  • With 68% damage reduction, 75% passive block and maxed out resistances I can get destroyed in a flash in some situations. What was the point of investing so many passive skill tree points and gear in armour/block, if the game is going to maintain these 1 shot mechanics?
As for endgame/maps:
  • I've done quite a few breaches and I've come to understand that in order to be successful and actually get some of the breach exclusive rewards, you simply need a high tier meta build. Everything else just doesn't cut it. You need to be able to go all out and have insane aoe dps output, which just comes down to being pigeonholed into using high tier meta build. I don't like that at all and wasn't PoE 2 supposed to be different from PoE 1?
  • Related to this, due to not having a meta build, progression currently feels too grindy.
  • All in all I'm starting to understand the endgame complaints of players who are far ahead of me.

Really enjoying the game, some things I think could be fixed:

- Campaign area maps are too long. I appreciate the checkpoints, but some of the areas just keep going and going.

- Use of colour on the ground to signify a boss attack… Hard to see when spamming skills like lightning rod, orb of storms, etc. Audio cues are great, I would still better visibility into wtf is going sometimes.

- Really liking the equipment scarcity on drops. Makes me use the crafting mechanics to get what I need. Also makes it when something good drops, it’s a big deal.

- Boss designs are overall really well done, except Blackjaw and his ridiculous reach.

- Just me probably but getting movement on boots was overtly difficult. This is an essential survivability mechanic.

- More map bosses needed at endgame. Pretty sure they are working on that though.

- Still not sure about the gem system, but I think I’ll get used to it.

- I like the dodge mechanic. It adds a new element to the game. It’s meant to be spammed as much of the boss design revolves around the unlimited dodge mechanic.

This is not an easy game, but it is fun. I’ve played several thousand hours of Path of Exile over the years as it was my go-to and loved it, but I think people forget it was rough at the beginning also and was extremely hard as well. I can’t wait for all 6 acts to be completed.

Herbspiceguy Herbspiceguy Sabejita Sabejita panda-zebra panda-zebra Are any of you guys using lightning in your builds?

I'm currently trying out this armor

Basically, everything in my presence has -58 lightning resistance because I also have -58% lightning resistance lol. It's pretty cool. I think it might be useful in party play. Let's try it sometime.

can someone advise, still waiting on support email back. When I log in on website I have two # accounts I can switch between . My coins from buying EA are on the # account I haven’t been to playing on. If I buy stash on one # account will it be available on other? I may just buy a premium upgrade to test first.

People were messaging me for buy for 3 divines, but I decided to use it myself lol.
Yeah the BiS amulet roll for me would be the energy shield base, have plus minions, plus spirit, rarity, and rest who cares.

My current neck has a ton of spirit, rarity, and attributes with some elemental resistance.

50 spirit makes a big difference because that’s one arsonist and and almost one cleric paid for.

I have +152 lol.

I also wear the golden charm that gives you magic find on rare mob kills.

Speaking of magic find gear, apparently The Gravebind gloves make all kills that happen around the wearer act like the wearer did them himself. So, you can have one character be a magic find character and then have other party members kill stuff around him and share boosted magic find stat. I wonder how that works in practice. It's pretty cheap on the market too.

Hard to say based on that info alone, but if you're having an okay time as it is, i wouldn't worry about it too much.
I just dont want to get to a spot where i fucked the build up and im roadblocked at say act 2 etc. Am Just not having luck or are there not many great bows early on?
