It’s 100% why I have always found the argument about “renting” games vs buying digital games funny as so many purchased digital games can be taken away just as fast

I mean, Xbox suggested a great solution when they first announced Xbox One but people laughed and said it was a trash idea. This would've allowed people to play their digital content even if Xbox servers were offline, as long as they logged in once a week to verify the licenses.
Here we are now and people can't play their digital games.
Just saying, an idea was put on the table and people laughed it off.

I think I read they were thinking of changing it to 1 week, but didn't proceed and then ended up scrapping the entire idea and removing check-in altogether, which is much better of course.
But the fact that Sony blocks your entire access is much worse. I still can't login and can't play any digital game. On Xbox I can.
PC though, winning as always.

Yeah I mean those posts are annoying but I do have a PC, its just I need to upgrade badly and cant afford it atm, basically need a full rebuild. My CPU has been having alot of issues, if I try to play anything more than like a 2d indie game my pc shuts off, ugggh

Is it overheating? Keep an eye on the CPU temps, if its overheating you might need to make sure the CPU fan is installed properly, or reapply some thermal paste.
You can play digital games on PS5 ... if you go to user settings and enable offline play. The only problem is that you need to be online to enable offline play (facepalm), but if you had done it yesterday, then you're good to go!

My digital games are still working without setting it to offline (I only tested it with GTAV though).

The problem is people like me that have multiple PS5s. My primary isn't set as my primary so I can't play on my Pro unless I have a physical disc in, and no dlc installed.

That's not true either. They wanted to kill GameStop by tying a physical game to a console so you couldn't take it back to GameStop and sell it to them for 50 cents so they could re-sell it for $10 off retail.

Played VoG on D2 last night with some friends till 3am last night, it's nearly 2pm here now and back online into D2 no issues. Not tried anything else yet
This is what technology and convenience have pushed us to, the little time I have to play is now wasted because I can’t play games I have downloaded on my fucking console and need a fucking check to function.
Funny thing is, Xbox was burned to the ground because of this exact shit.

Any digital game I have the does not require an online connection is working fine and I never changed any settings. The problem is so many digital games requires an online authentication. Those games are fucked.

The Paystation 5 is a device aimed at payers. I don't see anyone preventing you from paying for a non-functional service.
