Seriously what the fuck. I gotta say what the hell is up with girl gamers who are in a constant state of denile talking shit on guy gamers for being nerds when they themselves are.

Heres the backstory. I have a girl friend whos cute and cool, who plays video games, she played wow and raised her lvl 70 and got full epics. All the while she would talk shit on guys who played wow. Never understood why, but shed be like, these people are all losers (while shed be in battlegrounds...)

Anyways, so I get a call from her tonight. it goes someting like this...

me: Hey whats up?
her: im in line with all your loser friends
me: what?
her: i just paid for my call of duty box set
me: oh cool.
her: now i know what your loser self goes through to get a game
me: you do realize your waiting in line right now for a game while im at home right?
her: yeah but yove done this in the past and your still a loser
me: whut?
her: these people are so lame waiting in line for this stuff
me: once again you do realize your waiting in line for this game...right? Also your waiting in line with a bunch of douchebag frat guys (insert xbl playe rrant here) and that youll soon be joining their ranks
her: well im going to just play with my boyfriend so it doesnt matter.
me: you do realize cod doesnt have coop right?
her: your such an elitest so that makes it ok?
me: yeah it does bcuz I dont talk shit to my friends when they are enjoying what they like instead of denying it
her: well I had sex today, what do you have to say to that?
me: really? have we reached that point? Are we flaming eachother on a forum...
her: well im just saying -
me: this has to do with what now?
her: so you can get mad when i talk shit, but when you talk shit you cant?
me: exactly. have a good night

Seriously, I have to ask, why do girl gamers always give guy gamers shit, why do they always throw sex in like its a determining factor when talking about nerds and games and how they are not a nerd. They play games and act like they are above us and im just over this bullshit.

anyone else got any rants?

It's like when female comedians talk about sex 75% of the time.

They also think that just because you're a gamer, you're desperate. gtfo with that shit.

so what were you doing at that time before she called?

and yes, cod has co-op.

anyway, why does it matter? you're generalizing here about girl gamers from one female gamer.

You bought Modern Warfare 2?

Also, it can go both ways, I get some guys giving me shit about the fact that I'm playing anything, even worse that I'm "good" at some of them. Like I'm not allowed to be.

edit: Oh, she bought MW2.

Gamers who happen to be girls are great, 'Girl Gamers' are fucking retards.

EDIT: Almost everyone I know plays videogames, but I would call me or them "gamers" as such. Is there some sort of distinction?

It has to do with sexuality, and you have to understand that while it may seem like its such a big deal it actually has to do with the suffering that gamers, especially those who grew up in the 80s/early 90s, suffered for it.

Gaming is mainstream now, its cool, etc. and there is a current sexism in the industry against women. A semi attractive female makes a game (Assassins Creed) and its a big deal. It is the same thing for girls who play games, even though I find it shocking because I have never had a girlfriend who didn't play video games.

The problem is, back when I was gaming as a kid, it wasn't the "cool" thing to do. I was ridiculed for it, I was made fun of it, and the girls didn't understand why I did it.

Being that I was completely addicted to RPGs as a kid I tried to explain to them that it was like a visual storybook that I got to take part in, which still didn't make sense because I spent the majority of my young life in small towns where advancing in literacy was a death sentence to any chance of popularity.

Its funny because to this day I am introducing many of my female friends (I tend to prefer the company of females over males) to gaming but I have never actually had a relationship with a girl who doesn't game. Still, I will never forget growing up and being ridiculed for my hobby (acceptable gaming among guys was "Mario Kart" at the most advanced level)

I know there is that current stigma of sexism, but you have to remember at a time little girls made fun of little boys for playing games, especially more advanced games than Mario (which is essentially beloved by anyone who gives it a chance) and it has nothing to do with you as a person or your gender.

Now onto a response to the OP, whenever dealing with someone like that you simply tell them "enjoy the video game, while you're spending 9 months with a baby in you, then you will need something like that to entertain you. And on that note, its kind of sad that you have so little self esteem and are so humiliated to enjoy yourself that you have to make fun of other people for enjoying something even more than you apparently do. I truly hope you one day learn to respect yourself, until then you can keep your little secret hobby like a private diary."

She's just insecure. Not sure why you'd spend any time around this person, though.

The ones that make it a point about who they are, having to tell everyone they play with they are ____.

They're still being a prick.

i have a rant that involves how irritating it is to read about sensitive nerds and their innate ability to complain about girls they're never going to fuck if you want to hear about it.

Why do people need to label themselves all the time? gamer ,movie buff, otaku, jock, etc all seem to have more negative connotations than positive.

I've always considered myself more of a player than a gamer...
:3

They're still being a prick.

I won't deny that, not in the very least.

It is sexism, but because its about video games people don't see it as such.

I have a twisted view on "gender equality" in that I don't believe that limits should be reduced for gender (I apologize if it seems cold but if there is a job a female can't do they shouldn't do it. There are plenty of highly capable female workers, I've seen ones on construction sites that outdo the men, but the ones who can't keep up... they cause trouble and fight with the unions to have things made "lighter" which holds it all up and causes less work to roll around)

On the other hand, why in the flying *expletive deleted* can a girl NOT play a video game? It always blows my mind. Its a controller, its buttons, and at no point is a penis required (that I am aware of) but you'd still think guys have found Shangri La every single time a girl plays a game lol

Various definitions of "gamer" on the internet:

Historically, the term "gamer" usually referred to someone who played role-playing games and wargames. More recently, however, the term has grown to include players of video games. While the term nominally includes those who do not necessarily consider themselves to be gamers (i.e., casual gamers),[1] it is commonly used to identify those who spend much of their leisure time playing or learning about different games.
There are many gamer communities around the world. Many of these take the form of web rings, discussion forums and other virtual communities, as well as college or university social clubs. Stores specializing in games often serve as a meeting place to organize groups of players[citation needed]. Prior to the emergence of the Internet, many play-by-mail games developed communities resembling those surrounding today's online games[citation needed].
In October 2006, the Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA) was established as the first non-profit membership organization formed to represent American computer and video game consumers. The ECA was formed, in part, in response to the seemingly imbalanced representation of the games industry (e.g., the ESA, IGDA and others) in comparison to game consumers in the United States Congress.[1]

Fair enough.

Like in the OP's story, it's a girl trying to play "I had sex today" as her distinguishable feature over him and why he's a nerd while she isn't. There's lots of groups for this and that, and it pretty much makes me cringe when I see people in "BEAUTIFUL GAMER GIRLZ" groups and similar stuff on steam. Whatever makes you feel better, I guess.

You're generalizing girl gamers (and people who like Call of Duty) because one girl is generalizing guy gamers.

What a fucking brilliant thread.

DE NILE is a river in... ugh... I can't finish it.

Anyway, she's just a douche. All of my female friends are gamers to some extent, and none of them give a shit who waits outside of a place. Well, unless said person smells like 3 week old BO... then that is all a bandwagon we can jump on.

This topic isn't an outward bash at female gamers, so much as the ones who act like her.

In fact, I would quite honestly say she is a perfect embodiment of a "girl gamer" in that she acts like an immature girl.

Female/Woman gamers would be a good term for the others, but it is best to not separate them by gender lest we soon start calling out Black gamers and White gamers, and hell is going to freeze over before I let people call me a Jew Gamer!
