4070 super still doing fine at 1440p for me, still hitting 120fps in singleplayer titles and more than enough in multiplayer stuff.

Plus this new DLSS is supposed to boost performance a bit so definitely no need to upgrade.

No.

My 1080Ti lasted 6 years (2017 to 2023)
Now i have a 4090 which i expect to last for 7 years, till 2030.

So i'll build a new rig in 2030 with whatever is the best GPU at that time. No GPU upgrades before that.
Honestly as I build my new pc my 1080 will be repurposed with an ITX build that I’ll use as a steam box for my tv with wireless keyboard and mouse along with a wireless controller. I honestly think I can get 2-4 more years out of it on less demanding games. Even then, it emulates old consoles well still.

If you only upgrade every other generation (or every third even) yes these are worth the money. A 3090 founders was 1500. I'd be more interested in seeing the comparison with that card since it's what I have (or 3070 vs 5070). I leapfrog generations. Buying every upgrade is indeed only worth it for those with the money to waste.

I'm very torn on this, will wait for reviews. The 4090 is crushing everything I've been throwing at it, but the next wave of AAA games look absolutely bonkers graphically and I would hate to re-enter a sub 4k/120hz ghetto. We left that life, we aren't going back.

Oh yes, absolutely. 1080s are still beasts for games released before 2015 or for modern lightweight indies. It will also be a way better OS to stream stuff on your TV than the weak android that smart TVs ship wtih.

The only reason i don't have my old 1080Ti is because i sold my old rig for a decent price.

GTX 1070 here and still not falling for it with the current price to VRAM ratio. Not unless they have a decent RTX 5060 TI with 16VRAM version that's cheaper than the 5070.

4090 here.

I will skip this time, not because I don't want it, but because I don't want to pay 3000+ € for a GPU. The Founders Edition will disappear in a couple of seconds, so forget about that optimistic price tag.

Nvidia shills trying to trick people into FOMOing into these garbage GPUs.
I don't blame the GPUs themselves, I can only appreciate the efforts put in pushing the boundaries forward and the hard work from all the people behind it, but their marketing practices are awful. AMD where are you?

Meanwhile, post has been deleted.

Easiest skip I've ever had. I have a 4090 (Upgraded from a 2050.) and it crushes everything I throw at it. Shit, I'm perfectly happy when I can get my games running at 4K60 FPS. I'm old school. I remember when 60 FPS was good enough for everyone and I still have that attitude to this day. While nice, I largely don't care if I get 120 FPS in my games. 60 FPS is still smooth to me. Not going to piss away $2000 for MAYBE 30% performance.

I got the Nvidia 4070 Super 12GB GDDR6X GPU right now. It's got 33.5 teraflops. I'm good for at least the next 5 years I would say, if not more. So upgrade? No. I'll just buy a new gaming PC every 10 years at this point. Saves more money than consoles.

My RTX 4090s setups are staying where they are. There’s no need from what I’m seeing so far. As some others have mentioned, maybe 6xxx or 7xxx series I’ll reassess. I also have custom water loops and blocks and that’s another added headache when upgrading. So I’d like to sit on these for awhile.
