Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this game (STALKER 2) has merged the playable areas from all previous games into a single combined world, right?

This true? As close to a New Vegas 2 as we are going to get.
Sold me on the game tbh.
Stalker 2 is secretly a spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas, and after 45 hours in The Zone I'm ready to die on this irradiated hill
Opinion | What do Skif and Courier Six have in common? Quite a lot, actuallywww.gamesradar.com
From what I've played so far, it sure looks like it with some additions (for example I don't remember the area from the prologue and the road leading to the first camp you'll start the game proper from). I can already see Red Forest from Call of Pripyat and Pripyat itself, but can't find sprawling swamp area (or at least recognize it on the map) from Clear Sky and my memories of the very first game past the very first few locations (which were very small and behind loading screens) are vague at best. I do remember a second camp closer to the Chernobyl's reactor and stuff... but I can't find these locations on the map. The thing is, original maps from the first game were very compact and small so maybe they reworked them a lot and rearranged some things. I haven't played Anomaly and other mods with all the maps cuz you can't replay original story campaigns that way, so I can't make a direct comparison to that as well. That said, I will instantly remember locations from previous games when I find them cuz I've played and finised these games way too many times back in the day, except maybe Clear Sky.Correct me if I'm wrong, but this game (STALKER 2) has merged the playable areas from all previous games into a single combined world, right?
The packs of boars are really fucking annoying. The dogs I can tolerate, but getting knocked over repeatedly by these fat bitches is too much.
Hey guys, I'm starting to see npc's roaming on quests, or killing monsters on their nests, returning to town after and that kind of stuff, it seems that Alife is somehow working on Xbox?. I've yet to see npc's retrieving artifacts or selling or that kind of stuff.
I just can’t deal with any of the fast moving enemies. They just move so erratic and unpredictable. And those stupid dogs spawn all around you so you can’t outmanoeuvre them in most cases.
A lot of mutants need an overhaul in my opinion.
Updated to the latest driver and I’ve been smooth sailing performance wise . Even in town I’m not getting the FPS drops to single digitsIdk what happened but i was playing fine before and today I can't get anywhere without crashes. Trying to do the main objective in town and FPS drops to like 4 then crashes, tried to grab a side objective and same thing. This is killing my vibe, i'm on a 7800x3d/4080S/64gb RAM.
I just did a side mission where we hunted a mutant deer, but the game continuously spawned boars, dogs, and rats as well. And because the game makes little effort to hide spawns, they would often spawn DIRECTLY on me... it was a nightmare lolI just can’t deal with any of the fast moving enemies. I am sure the devs are listening and will try their best to implement feedback.
From what I read here are the top priorities outside of bug fixing/ controller dead zones
1) enhance / implement A-Life (dont think we should have high hopes on this one)
2) add dynamic shadows (at least for player torch)
3) adjust AI combat behavior of mutants
4) tweak economy of repair/ upgrade costs
Any thing else ?

I've seen a few cases of a group of STALKERS fighting enemies in the world.
But holy shit the partner AI damage is like set to 0.1x multiplier. I've seen them shooting those little rat enemies point blank in the face with shotgun shells and it takes them 20, 30 shots to kill one.
Controller support needs to be majorly reworked.I am sure the devs are listening and will try their best to implement feedback.

That sounds like your VRAM is full and it’s trying to swap in textures from ram when the new assets load in, causing massive dips. Do you have the 10gb model?I don't get it. If you're implying a 3080 shouldn't be expected to do 4k, then why does it hold 60fps but drop to single digits when entering new areas/cutscenes?
Seems like an optimization and not a GPU problem.
Yep, and I think you're right. But I'm also thinking it could be optimized to where it doesn't tank framerate to single digits. I don't have this problem with other games. That sounds like your VRAM is full and it’s trying to swap in textures from ram when the new assets load in, causing massive dips. It's after call of pripyat because in Zaton, SultanWhen Stalker 2 takes place? between the first 3 games or after them? Sidorovich looks exactly the same, hasnt aged at all
Yes. I was walking and out of nowhere my AR416 switched to a M14. The AR416 was in my inventory.Has anybody had random things spawn in your inventory?
It just happened to me for the second time (definitely not complaining by any means) where I will just be walking somewhere and suddenly I'm overweight and I check the inventory and there's things in there all of a sudden. This last time it spawned two M860s which were both red quality so I dropped both of them, but the first time I just walked into a building and suddenly I had 3 Mk1 EMRs (M14) one of which was yellow and two reds.
Also just finished the mission
and that was a very cool sequence and I ended up with so much gear as I found 2 suits (both of which are worse in most ways then my SEVA suit I've been using for 10 or so hours) and a special Tavor. Found a AS Val as which which is one of my favorite guns of all time.are at SIRCAA and have to choose to side with either Strider or Dalin
I had a bunch of crashes initially, but haven't had one in the past 10 hours now. Unfortunately, I don't know what worked because I tried a bunch of stuff. Heres a list:Going to try again today. For those not experiencing lots of crashes can you share settings you’re using?
Also, do you know how much gpu/cpu the game is using?
Earlier people said my 3080 doing 4k, epic settings, dlss quality, and frame gen may make the game work at 60fps but it’s over abusing the card to make it crash? Never had this happen. Even with RE4 remake for example, I can max it and hold 60fps even with 12GB used for textures or whatever.
So should I do something like either:
1080P, epic settings, dlss quality no frame gen?
Or 1440P mix of high/medium settings, dlss quality, and frame gen?
I want to not have to reload the game a ton of times with the stupid shader compiling.
There are artifacts that nullify rads. So you can equip in pairs: one with a buff + rad poisoning then another that nullifies radIs there a way to nullify the radiation poisoning of artifacts? Doesn't seem worth equipping if its continually making me sick.

Some suits can be upgraded with a slot that totally nullifies the radiation in that specific slot.Is there a way to nullify the radiation poisoning of artifacts? Doesn't seem worth equipping if its continually making me sick.
Spot the controller players playing Stalker. xDI just can’t deal with any of the fast moving enemies. They just move so erratic and unpredictable. And those stupid dogs spawn all around you so you can’t outmanoeuvre them in most cases.

Let those fuckers clear camps for you. They can't deal with them too. It's satisfiying.I just can’t deal with any of the fast moving enemies. They just move so erratic and unpredictable. And those stupid dogs spawn all around you so you can’t outmanoeuvre them in most cases.

You gotta drink alcohol non stop I guess.
I, personally, haven't encountered any artifacts that lower radiation so, like you, I've never had any artifact that has - Rad equipped.
My main one is the cricket ball that you can get near the expanding and contracting anomaly near the first settlement. It reduces the gunfire damage you take when still, has been pretty effective.
A life isn’t even in the game.Holy fk this game has crashed more times than any game I have ever played in over 40 years of gaming. I'm willing to bet a lot of alcohol was consumed while making this game.
A-Life 2.0
A life isn’t even in the game.
Very interesting. An A-life "fix" was just released on Nexusmods. Seems they nerfed it because of severe performance issues...
