sadly I unexpectedly busy enough, that I barely finished prologue. Very well, I though its like outside of the player path. (otherwise why fucking making video about it in this way)
Where’s that avatar Bruv?

rofif

Can’t Git Gud
Why protagonist sounds like V from cp2077?
Where are ukrainian accents?
Why there are even more 1st person cutscenes than in metro exodus (my only gripe with exodus, love that game)

Plus the game screen keeps flickering.
I had this, too. Where it looks like textures are flickering in and out? For me, it was AMD frame gen. I turned that off and haven't had it happen.

If anyone knows of a way to keep frame gen but fix the flickering, please let me know.

This true? As close to a New Vegas 2 as we are going to get.
Sold me on the game tbh.

I'm very early on, but I'm getting that vibe. Not so much in terms of factions and branching storylines as of yet, but in setting, atmosphere, and gameplay.

Holy f'n shit.

Finished a side mission and instead of opting to return back from the main entrance, continued to explore the location, found a staircase leading deep underground with a couple of ladders leading even further underground (think James jumping down the dark holes in Silent Hill 2), at the bottom there was a mutant wearing a rain coat and he immediately started using force powers to steal my weapons and make them fire at me.

What the fuck, that came out of nowhere and was an intense as hell fight.

Picture for the above.

Well, I gave it a good old college try, but at least on my TV on the xbox-x it's TOO DAMNED DARK. Spent 80% of the first 30 minutes (up to the bunker) in pitch black environments, even with brightness and gamma up to 100%, just moving randomly towards the orange marker in the hopes there would be a path. If there is a flashlight in the game it is far too obtuse figuring it out. Anyway, not sure this type of game is my cuppa anyway, you getns enjoy!
The flashlight is RB, they tell you during the first 5 minutes :messenger_grimmacing_

I had to disable g sync.

I’ve also capped the game to 60fps as that is supposed to help.

The majority of the frame rate drop seem to happen when you go indoors into buildings.

I could run the game on my 3080 on max settings, DLSS is quality, 4K display, and use frame generation. I’ll be at above 60 frames the vast majority of the time, but from time to time it will tank the frame rate when I go indoors. I had a cut scene play out and it was at about 10 frames a second for some reason.

I’ve also had the game crash on me twice now.

I'm having a blast with this. Wish the gun play was a bit better, but I think that's part of the game design. It seems to run fine on my PC. I'm only running it at 1080p though.

I've had some good firefights in this game. I like that you actually have to play carefully and not just run and gun. Did a little exploring off the main path and came across a small group of buildings with some guys walking around. Tried to sneak past them but got caught, ended up retreating to a little shack looking thing and they flanked me from 2 sides and I got killed.

It's just so dumb walking through this empty wasteland and then have a firefight erupt right behind you in the exact area you were 5 seconds ago and suddenly there's 10 people from two different factions shooting each other. I'll never understand how these devs thought this was a good idea.

First patch coming:

Weak stuff on there. I was really hoping for the shaders compiling to be first on the list.

The game crashes and you’re waiting 2 minutes to play again because of them.

Ugh.

Also the controller update isn’t in this one. My two most wanted didn’t make the cut.

Also interesting wording with this:

  • A-Life system bugfixes

The whole system isn't even in the game at this moment.

Doesn't the game compile shaders upon boot? I haven't had a single crash in just under 25 hours of game time.

What hardware are you running on?

Even before I upgraded my CPU I never got a single crash.
Rtx 3080, 11th gen intel i7 11700KF at 3.6ghz.

16gb of ram

I was just now in the poppy fields. Kept my energy up , my character is full health, just chugged an energy drink, no radiation, randomly dies then the game crashes.

Probably just abandoning this game now.

After 6 crashes today I’m good. There may be a good game here but what we got is a sad sack of shit that should’ve been delayed for another year.

It's crashed on me four times now. I deleted some .exe a Reddit thread could be the issue, repaired the game files, and it played okay (albeit with massive frame tanks going to single digits for sometimes half a minute before correcting) for an hour. Just crashed again. Now compiling shaders.

This is easily the most buggy game I've ever played.

Hmm, the only similar thing I've had was a pack of dogs spawning a few feet in front of me, but that also happened a while ago.

In most cases, my trek on the wasteland from one place to another is mostly combat free with only anomalies to worry about, most (if not all) combat I've seen is when I'm actually at a mission location.

It's nice to have the ability to lean in an FPS game that's also on console. Very few FPS games have had the ability to lean throughout console history and it's basically nonexistent in modern FPS games. Black Ops 6 included a good auto-lean function and now this has dedicated "lean" left and right buttons when in ADS. It's good to see this ability back in an FPS game on console.

I've been using leaning around corners a lot, cause in a straight gunfight, you get shredded real quick. Bleeding damage on top of just gun damage.

Not that I've played it first hand but it seems like most of these fun glitches are coming from the PC version. The console version has been relatively bug free so far, small things like physics freaking out when running into boxes aside.

Yeah, this is one of the first side quests you pick up in the game.

The field itself looks gorgeous, aside from the sleeping thing, lol.

Also, I didn't fully realize this before, but this game is doing the Skyrim/Starfield thing where every single object you drop anywhere in the world retains its location at all times. Eg, a red durability gun I dropped at the feet of a trader has still been there after multiple hours, loads, quitting the game and rebooting etc. This kind of stuff probably also contributes a lot to the games very heavy CPU usage.
I noticed that as I discarded red guns next to my stash and left them there. Days after they’re still there. Same with with the water tower shootout, bodies gone guns there. This aspect is one of my FAVOURITE things about any item in the bethesda engine, gives some realism to the world with that persistence.

Is anyone else simply just not experiencing any bugs yet? Maybe it’s because I’m taking my sweet time and going slow, but outside of the scenery quickly loading in when respawning after a death, the game’s been rock solid thus far.

Oh my goodness, yes. The amount of times I’ve used it to check corners with my pistol is insane. Definitely an invaluable utility to have.

Like I said in my last post, nothing game breaking so far. No outright crashes. Minor things like physics freak-outs on some objects, but otherwise it has been a pretty good experience for me.

Performance mode could use a bunch more work, it's decent but it starts to show its weaknesses and drops below the VRR range now and then, so since that DF video came out, I've switched to the Quality mode. A much better visual experience and performance is a lot more consistent, even if it's 30.

Damn, maybe I’m just lucky. It sucks you and some others are getting so many crashes.

Driver wise I’m only on whatever the version is a few days before launch.

I’ve had a few small glitches like a NPC stuck in the floorboards asking for meds but as soon as I healed him he popped right back or like this one base’s walls flickering but overall I’ve had a very good experience even if it’s not perfect.

The AI needs some work and I’d like the bleed to be nerfed a bit.

It’s still in my top 3 games of the year easily (FF7R, SH2R, and Stalker).

Random bugs here and there yeah no big deal so far maybe stealth issues and that one time when I did encounter in a main mission the constant enemy spawn that I did manage but it was definitely weird.

My most annoying one is the definitely the performance, for one the memory leak, and after some investigations this happens if you die a lot and keep reloading and it tanks the fps below 20... need to restart the game and solved. And probably not even a bug but the fact that populated areas simply destroy the performance even on 7800X3D so yeah this definitely needs some serious work.

edit: Okay there is one bug that is not awesome, dead bodies making constant noise stuck in the environment.. not cool, as if I'm not shitting myself enough from all the other noises :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I'm 10 hours deep and I haven't seen a single woman in this entire game. None.

What is up with that?
It's a harsh world, I have absolutely no problem with that. It's actually very refreshing compared to most western games desperately trying to place women as faction leaders and other people holding some power.

Yes it's awesome and I love how the character continues to lean until they receive another command. Very useful when hiding behind a wall or cover and looking around without having to hold a button the whole time.

Nice Bethesda quest there with the bloodsucker cave. Go through the cave before getting the quest - nothing. Grab the quest, artifact and bloodsucker populate it.
Also quest givers who don't fight even when dogs are gnawing at their ankles are bullshit. They're invincible to grenades but you can shoot them wtf

I finally got the game to 10 hours or so, and that's it (I just finished playing), I decided that I had enough and I finished the game. Most likely the game is just not for me, I wish the others a pleasant game. On this note, allow me to take my leave, I'm flying off to another topic =).

The Cockatrice

I'm retarded?
The whole system isn't even in the game at this moment.

Based on that reddit/steam user post, there never will be. They just called the basic spawn system A-life for marketing luls. When they say they'll fix it, they'll just adjust it to be less obvious that it's nothing special.

FINALLY got this game to run acceptably.

I've got an RTX 3080, and I'd been playing it on Medium settings with 4K, DLSS + Frame gen. I was getting crashes, framerate tanks any time I went to a new environment, framerate tanks when entering cutscenes...

I dropped my resolution down to 1440p, and it's like an entirely new game. Steady framerate and no crashes yet.

Ok yeah. Loving the game but for sure it's got it's issues. Atmosphere is really outstanding. But after the 30th or so CTD (no joke), gonna set this game aside before it crashes again. Enemies spawning from nowhere, sound issues or lack thereof in spots. Texture glitching on walls, etc. (seemed to reduce after turning Off Anisotropic Sample Optimization in the Nvidia Panel). I could imagine the amount of bug/tickets submitted for this game, currently. Someone notify Guinness

I know the games meant to be hard but jfc. I think I’m done trying. I have like 15 deaths and I’m like 10 min in. First issue was for some reason the default hdr brightness was so low I was basically blind lol. But constantly bleeding every time there’s a fight, and the being attacked by fucking wind gusts is really annoying, I’m on the lowest difficulty too. It’s a cool world but not for me I guess
