wow another Soul Plane fan. i thought i was alone.

and yes i fully recognize Soul Plane was fucking stupid but that movie gets me rolling on the floor laughing.

wait...damn you were joking.

best movie ever? i dunno, never really thought about it. how many movies are there? i liked that one with the cowboy.

Well, I disagree.

But what I will say is that I came into the movie with such a hard on. I was expecting it to blow my mind and DAZZLE.

It ended up being quite boring to be quite honest. Not even the dazzle made up for the boring (and slight basicness).

It has its flaws, but its one of the most visually impressive movies I've seen in ages, and not in a "Transformers with 10 billion moving pieces and giant explosions" way.
It took visual effects to another level.

Like watching a two hour video game cut scene. And Ramona was an emotionless robot that would be impossible for anyone to be attracted to.

It was pretty good.

It's the director's third best movie.

I can't tell if you're kidding about Soul Plane or not. I really hope you are.

Agreed. Hot, yet completely unappealing.

Eh, I found it alright. Nice fight scenes, but at least half the characters (Scott being the biggest) were selfish assholes, which REALLY put me off.

how good was Kieran Culkin in this
favorite role in the movie. I was actually on the same flight with him on my way to NYC earlier this year. I was gonna talk to him but he seemed really pissed off for some reason :(

ya its good but I prefer movies with a more somber storyline
The whole story is a hyper reality created in Scotts own day dream using video game fantasy to explore his insecurities, both shallow and deep.
Scott is a massive loser. Seems pretty somber to me.

Great film.

I didn't watch this in theaters but my brother bought it and I have seen it, like, 5 times in the span of a month LOL. It's really funny but WTF, Ramona would never lay eyes on someone like Scott, come on.

And yeah, I love Wallace too <3

Michael Cera was good in Zombieland
Took a while for this to happen. Eisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

Scott Pilgrim was a great movie, I never read the graphic novels of it, but my brother did and he loved it. So i'd assume it paid good homage to its origin...

Short Version: Loved the movie, was entertained the whole time.

Definitely a great movie, though I wouldn't necessarily call it my favorite ever.
However, it may just be my favorite adaptation ever. Does a great job of deciding what to cut and where to add little bits and pieces.

Although I'd put Hot Fuzz and Shaun above it, this movie is still something incredibly special to me. Seen it at least 8 times now.

Edgar Wright <333

Saw this again the other day, and was curious to see if I was looking at it through rose-tinted glasses.

Turns out that wasn't the case, stil the best movie ever. :rock

Edit: I actually do believe that SPvTW is an amazing movie. One of the best of 2010.
For some reason I assumed that acronym stood for "Soul Plane vs The World."

Saw this movie recently with my co-worker at his place. I'm actually not a big fan of many movies. After watching one, I usually walk away thinking that it was either terrible or at best decent. Rarely do I see a movie (either in theaters or at home) where I actually find myself thinking it was fucking awesome. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was one of those times. Yes, feel free to criticize me about my shitty movie taste if you will, but damn it, still the best movie I've seen since Soul Plane.

Best movie ever? No. Best movie of 2010? Also no. Just solid and enjoyable.

Sure has drawn a lot of ire, though...the amount of people I've come across that hate the hell out of this film is just mind-boggling. I hate to damn the flick with faint praise, but it is really unworthy of any extreme opinion, good or bad.

I really hated it. Every single second was screaming to be cool and loved, it was like the desperate kid at school who'll lend anyone anything to hang out with them.

I did laugh when he threw the coat over his shoulder though.

I loved it the first few times I saw it, but having since read the comics watching the movie mostly just makes me want to revisit them instead.

Still a fun way to spend a couple of hours, though.

I just saw this movie last night (bought it on blu-ray a while back for $15, misplaced it (i know), found it and watched it finally)

I wasn't paying attention entirely so I think I missed some details and there was a lot of commotion in the house etc. so not an ideal viewing experience but my takeaway is, it was a pretty good movie.

I loved the heavy use of Sonic and Zelda sfx.
